Ich nehme mich selbst auseinander, zersetze mich, vernichte mich, lösche mich aus.. : Eine psychoanalytische Literaturinterpretation Thomas Bernhards Roman Auslöschung / A psychoanalytic literary interpretation of Thomas Bernhard’s novel Extinction

Waltraud, Prem January 2022 (has links)
This Master’s Thesis interprets Thomas Bernhard’s novel Extinction from a psychoanalytic perspective. The underlying psychodynamic processes are described and examined against the main characters and the plot including its twists and most important parts. Furthermore, I analyse literary and stylistic devices typical for Thomas Bernhard, as well as the reception of the novel based on the reviews, are psychoanalytically analysed. This paper attempts to show that the author's work with its description of the fundamental existential people’s conflicts is well suited for psychoanalytic literary interpretation.
