Escuela Superior de Música de Lima / Lima’s School of Music

Dongo Sara-Lafosse, María Luisa 04 January 2022 (has links)
The proposed Project is a School of Music in the city of Lima, Peru. The school is located in Lima’s City Center, in the Monserrate neighborhood, on the side of Rimac River. It proposes to create a connection between the city and the river, and thus revitalize the “forgotten” riverside of Rimac river. Its location is important since the project is connected, through a pedestrian boardwalk, to the project of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima called “Rio Verde”, which proposes elements of a cultural nature along the riverside. That is why the project not only meets a solution for an identified need, in this case the lack of infrastructure for a musical higher education in the city, but also as a complimentary element to a large urbanistic project. It is made up of two main areas: the academic area, which is private, and the cultural area, which is public. The academic area contains all the rooms dedicated to the school: classrooms, music rooms, rehearsal rooms, library, etc.; the cultural area is made up of music shops, and exhibition hall, food court next to the pedestrian boardwalk, and the main element is the big auditorium, with a bar area and a large entrance foyer, which is accessed through a large public square. / Tesis

Mercado de abastos N° 2 de Surco / Surco's Supply Market N ° 2

Davila Patiño, Carla 25 June 2021 (has links)
The project focuses on design the N.2 Market in the district of Santiago de Surco, this is the most important in Lima Center, in which the users who attend it will not only buy, but also, can provide them an added value and stop being just a conventional market, such as workshops, coffee shop, bars, squares, among others. This will make the market cease to be a place of passage, thus becoming a place of permanence, preventing its back to its surroundings and revitalizing even more the commercial area in which it is both day and night, in addition It will increase safety by its use. Making the market become an integrating and versatile space. / Tesis

Médiation de l'architecture par l'exposition et sa réception par des visiteurs experts et non experts / Mediating architecture through the exhibition media : the reception of architectural exhibits by expert and non-expert visitors

Laberge, Marie Elizabeth 11 October 2012 (has links)
This thesis focusses on the mediation of architecture in the museum setting and on the different tools used to communicate the architectural project in the exhibition. The main goal of this research is to get a better knowledge and understanding of the reception of the different objects used to exhibit the many aspects of architectural projects by visitors (architects and non-architects). There is a general agreement on the fact that it is difficult to communicate architecture through the exhibition media. Many objects are typically used to exhibit the architectural project : drawings, models, photographs, videos and so forth. Some of these tools can be hard to understand, especially for a layperson, since they are coded objects. In order to better communicate the architectural project, curators often choose to depict it by presenting a series of objects, each tool conveying a different aspect of the building. This serial type of presentation can make the task even harder for some visitors. Since understanding an architectural project can be quite difficult for visitors, it appears important to investigate the meaning making of visitors of varying profiles. Six main questions were investigated in this thesis : (1) Which exhibition objects attracted the visitor’s attention? (2) What type of mental operations did the visitor do in relation to these objects? (3) Which obstacles did the visitor face, and what did he do when faced with such obstacles? (4) Which aspects of the architectural project (materiality, concept, context, etc.) attracted the visitor’s attention? (5) How did the visitor link the different objects presented in a serial manner? (6) Did the visitor’s professionnal profile (architect or non-architect) influence his meaning making? Data were collected among thirty visitors at the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) in Montreal during the exhibition « Some Ideas on Living in London and Tokyo by Stephen Taylor and Ryue Nishizawa ». Each participant was asked to express, as freely as possible, what he thought, saw, felt and imagined during the course of his visit, as is prescribed by the thinking aloud method (also known as protocol analysis). The participant is accompanied by the researcher throughout his visit. Visitor’s verbalisations are recorded, then typed and encoded for analysis. Many of the results obtained in this research confirm ideas that were presented in previous texts by scholars : the popularity of photographs ; the little interest for plans by non-architects ; the various aspects of the architectural project mentionned in relation to the objects exhibited ; the links established between objects as a means to identify the serial presentation. Other results, though, challenge some ideas frequently presented by authors, but never validated by empirical data. For instance, many curators consider a model to be a very popular and easily understood tool used to communicate architecture. In the present research, the model is not used very much by visitors. Therefore, the type of model and the way to exhibit it might make this tool more or less useful for meaning making by visitors. Many authors believe that non architects encounter difficulties and obstacles during their visit. The results obtained in this thesis show that, as expected, non architects do face obstacles, but they also reveal that architects themselves face many obstacles and challenges in their meaning making while visiting the architecture exhibition

Conforto térmico e eficiência energética em hotéis econômicos / Thermal comfort and energy efficiency in Budget Hotels

Buoro, Anarrita Bueno 17 March 2008 (has links)
This work aims to evaluate the energy efficiency and comfort level, in airconditioned environments of budget hotels, from international chains, in São Paulo, Brazil. The evaluation was directed to the apartments which are the hotels main product featuring air conditioning, even though the climate conditions and usage profile dont determine its need. One hotel from an international chain was chosen as a case study based on research of budget hotels main features. The hotel had its thermal performance evaluated through air temperature and humidity measurements, in two apartments, for five days. Its physical characteristics were inputted into the TAS NG (2005) software as a base model for simulations. The measurements results defined the criteria used in the parametric model, resulting in a total of seven scenarios with different characteristics such as glass, internal shades, ventilating rates and period. Considering São Paulos climatic conditions, the physical and occupational characteristics of the apartments, it was verified that it is possible to reach thermal comfort without the use of air conditioning. The evaluating criterion used in these conditions was an adaptive model from the ASHRAE 55 (2004) Norm. Data from the most representative days of summer and winter were used in the analysis. There was also an evaluation of the energy consumption of the air condition- ing system, used for cooling and heating purposes, for a period of one year. The results favored the proposal for project recommendations for this typology, seeking solutions to improve the capacity to harness the favorable natural conditions to obtain thermal comfort, allowing for energy consumption reduction due to air conditioning. To illustrate the recommendations some preliminary studies were prepared for the apartments and pavement type, considering the integration of the air conditioning system with architectural design solutions that favor a better energy performance of budget hotels or of any other category.

São Paulo: urbanidade, projeto e oportunidade espaços para o exercício da cidadania / Sao Paulo: urbanity, design and chance , spaces for the exercise of citizenship

Joel Bages Sanabra 13 May 2015 (has links)
The concept of urbanity is complex, but essential for approaching contemporary urban world, being associated to spaces that structure the city\'s functionality and sociality. Conception et évaluation d'un outil de revue de projet architectural en réalité virtuelle : problématique de la perception des distances en environnement virtuel / Design and evaluation of architectural project review tool in virtual reality : issue of distance perception in virtual environments

Boustila, Sabah 25 May 2016 (has links)
Virtual reality (VR) will revolutionize many fields such as medicine, industry, architecture, etc. It has become an important element in the development of a solution, particularly in the architectural field. Whether for marketing or project review, VR allows virtual visits of homes in virtual environment (VE) at real scale. Today, the architect has a real marketing tool by providing to potential customer virtual visits of homes. During these virtual visits, the customer can get an idea of the house. With the visualization at scale 1: 1, the customer has the opportunity to explore the house and he can easier project himself into the house to take decisions more easily. The hope is that, this virtual visit would more quickly lead to a signing agreement.Furthermore, during the design process, the architect can make a project review in VE with customer to guide his choices and refine the collection of needs. Following this review, together, they validate the plan of the house in terms of size and layout of rooms, window position, etc. Therefore, the VR allows considerable time and money saving for architects. Decisions taken in VE are generally based on the perception of distances and volumes. Therefore, the effectiveness of the decisions depends on the ability of customers to make judgments about what they see in the VE similar to the judgments they would have made in the corresponding real environment. Several studies have shown that the estimation of distances in VE is different from the estimation in real environment. Several factors can be the source of this problem such as the display device, the limited field of view, graphical quality, etc. Despite these studies, factors that cause this phenomenon remain unclear, and diverse. Our work is part of an architectural project: CIMBEES project. This project aims to integrate VR in the process of selling / buying and of the design through virtual visits and project review in VE. Our work is to design and evaluate architectural project review tool. The design stage is to suggest a project review tool for the visualization of digital mockups at real scale in VE and providing interaction that meets the needs of architects. During this stage we developed a project review tool and we modeled necessary digital mockups from real house plans. In the evaluation stage of the architectural project review tool, we were interested at the problem of the perception of distances in VE. The aim of this evaluation is to identify and to study the most important factors for the tool, to propose suitable parameters for our application context (virtual visits). To do this, we conducted an experimental study that focuses on the study of the influence of three factors on the perception of distances: 1) the cognitive profile of users, 2) the environmental context and 3) the speed of navigation. Estación Intermodal Atocongo / Atocongo Intermodal Station

Alvarez Andrade, Jesus Alonso 12 March 2021 (has links)
The project arises from the problems of public transport and the lack of integration in transport systems, in addition to the implementation of the new era of mass trains in the city. The new lines in the urban mesh of the city will allow the development of areas that, until now, were isolated due to the lack of urban planning, which will mean a new socio-economic process. The research work focuses on the approach of the Atocongo Intermodal Station, located in San Juan de Miraflores with the emphasis of urban landmark. This place is important in the territorial scope of the city where line 3 of the Lima Metro, Cercanias Train, Complementary Corridor and the Metropolitan will be located, constituting the new centrality of the south. The station will be integrated into the mobility system proposed in the latest urban plans for Metropolitan Lima. A multifunctional building is proposed where not only the function of transport is considered, but also complementary uses of meeting, entertainment, social in order to contribute to its optimal design. / Trabajo de investigación

Instituto Oncológico Pediátrico en San Juan de Lurigancho / Institute Oncology Pediatric

Palomino Sánchez, Juan David 13 May 2021 (has links)
The physical and emotional development of people begins at the childhood stage, which is why it is necessary to emphasize the physical and psychological health of children. The Pediatric Oncology Institute is created in response to the need for public health seen in the country. However, it is necessary to differentiate the treatment given to a child or an adult to obtain better results. The present project, through a symbiosis between architecture and the use of the architectural emphasis “neuroarchitecture”, generates intermediate spaces where patients can recover psychologically and physically, Therefore the main project’s objective is the importance of children having access to health facilities with efficient spaces that improve children's self-esteem. This is achieved through natural lighting and ventilation, meeting areas for children and their families without losing the functionality of a hospital due to its high level of complexity. / Tesis
