Geografické aspekty náboženství – srovnání České republiky a Rakouska / Geographical aspects of religion – comparison of the Czech republic and Austria

Pecharová, Kateřina January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of my thesis is to map a development of religion, mainly christianity, and its different geographical aspects of the Czech republics and Austrian territory. I´d like to compare individual indicators and using questionnaires and interviews answer these questions: Nakolik tyto atributy může zachytit statistika? What are the main attributes of religiosity? The extent to which statistics capture these atributes? How does faith and religiosity vary from each other? How much does actual rate of religiosity and real faith vary? Do the statistics give us a realistic information about religion and its part in mentioned countries? Why do the rate of religiosity in the Czech republic and Austria vary so much from each other considering that they are neighboring countries. Are Austrians considering their high rate of religiosity really more religious than Czechs as an atheistic nation?

Náboženství v České republice: základní analýza a vztah k vybraným sociodemografickým otázkám / Religion in the Czech Republic: Basic analysis and the relationship to selected socio-demographic topics

Růžičková, Markéta January 2016 (has links)
Religion in the Czech Republic: Basic analysis and the relationship to selected socio-demographic topics Abstract The aim of this thesis is to analyse the inhabitants of the Czech Republic according to religious belief using data from surveys and also individual 2011 census data. Contemporary position of religion in society is described in the first part, focusing on characteristics of believers and non-believers. Results of surveys concerning religious belief in our region are stated in detail in the next part, oriented mainly on the period after 1989. The part with the analysis of differences in attitudes to problematic demographic behaviour according to religious belief follows, using the data from European Values Study and International Social Survey Programme. Individual data from 2011 census are analysed more in detail in the last part, focusing on newly spread religious groups and furthermore there is an analysis of believers using logistic regression. Keywords: religion, sample survey, Czech Republic, attitudes, atheism

Ateismus v Americe / Atheism in America

Koranda, David January 2017 (has links)
This diploma work analyzes the contemporary rise of the number of atheists in the United States of America, basing this presupposition on numerous nation-wide surveys, primarily conducted by Gallup Poll and Pew Research Center. It goes into depth on the definition of atheism and strictly delineates the meaning of this word and the use of its alternatives in the work. Given the fact that the thesis is written by a Czech author, it also provides necessary background covering the differences between Czech atheism and American atheism. Since the work is purposely not one of literary analysis but rather of socio-political and cultural nature, reasons for this decision are given in a separate subchapter analyzing Flannery O'Connor's novel Wise Blood. History of atheism in America is touched upon in the beginning of Chapter 3, but since the fundamental focus of this work is on the contemporary state of affairs, the roots of modern atheism in America are sought after mainly in the twentieth century. In particular, the greatest causes of the weakening of church's power and the rise of secularism (or atheism, for that matter) are given as following: Madalyn Murray O'Hair's fights against church's influence in public schools and against its public funding; the argument about the non-scientific nature of belief...

Ateizační politika ČSR v období od koce 40. do poloviny 50.let 20.století a její odraz v dobovém regionálním periodiku / The Atheization Policy of the Czechoslovak Republic from the End of 1940s to the Mid-1950s Illustrated on the Example of the Historical Regional Media

Muroň, Filip January 2022 (has links)
The diploma thesis entitled The Atheization Policy of the Czechoslovak Republic from the End of 1940s to the Mid-1950s Illustrated on the Example of the Historical Regional Media introduces to the reader how Marxist-Leninist ideologies approached the topic of atheism and the process of atheization, and how they presented this worldview to the popular masses. The reader will also learn about the region of Teschen Silesia (where the research is based), its media and the media system established in Czechoslovakia at the time under discussion. The work also reflects on the post-war rise of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and its coup in 1948. The practical part of the thesis then reflects how the editors of the selected media (the widely available regional daily Nová svoboda, the newspaper of the Polish minority Głos Ludu and the company magazine Třinecký hutník) published topics that were supposed to lead their readers to secularization from 1948 to 1952. However, it is clear from the conclusions of the individual editions that the promotion of scientific atheism had minimal space, and the editors focused primarily on international, domestic social and political events. As time went on, however, even these contributions dwindled. Judicial monster trials of inconvenient clerics were also...

Bezbožnost v klasických Athénách / The Impiety in Classical Athens

Novotný, Matěj January 2018 (has links)
Matěj Novotný - Impiety in Classical Athens Abstract The thesis discusses the definition and prosecution of impiety in democratic Athens during the Classical period, i.e. in 5th-4th centuries BCE. The question of "impiety" in the narrower sense, i.e. of what was denoted by the Greek word ἀσέβεια (literally, "the absence/negation of respect"), is set into larger context of other crimes of religious character, covered by special laws: "sacrilege" (ἱεροσυλία), digging out sacred olive-trees, offences against festivals and other delicts which were not subsumed under any more general term in the laws, pragmatically formulated as they were. The dissertation builds on the work of the researchers who show considerable scepticism towards the reliability of later sources, for example Plutarch or Diogenes Laertius - this is connected with doubts concerning processes against philosophers before Socrates. At the same time, the thesis follows the scholars who doubt the authenticity of the documents inserted in the speeches of the Attic Orators. For these reasons, a considerable part of the thesis is devoted to the rebuttal of late reports and inserted documents. A particular attention is given to the Decree of Diopeithes, which is mentioned in Plutarch's Life of Pericles and is usually interpreted as criminalising...

Postoj současné české společnosti k otázce Desatera / Attitude of the Current Czech Society towards the Issue of the Decalogue

CHOCOVÁ, Blanka January 2009 (has links)
The thesis looks into the relationship of the current Czech society towards the issue of the Decalogue. The first two chapters deal with the theological-anthropological reflection on man in relation to human freedom and corresponding norms. The third part enquires into the problems of the Decalogue as a codex of ethical norms with regard to the biblical rootage, and ethical and catechistic features. Further, the work outlines the level of value orientation and religiousness of the current Czech society with reference to the European context. Following the findings and results of a research carried out at a public secondary school in České Budějovice, the fifth part reflects the position of the Decalogue in the society
