Political Trials of 1950s in Czechoslovakia - Babice Case The goal of this thesis is to describe political trials in wider context and discuss in detail about one of the greatest trials- Babice trial. In the present thesis is mapped political- history development in postwar Czechoslovakia until the revolution in 1948, analysis of key legal norms adopted after the February based on which was possible to hold political trials, classification of political trials and detailed analysis of Babice trial. The thesis is systematically divided into three chapters. The first chapter splits into two subheads. In the first subheads is discussed the political situation in postwar Czechoslovakia, formation of the first postwar government and gradual take-over by Communist Party which culminated into coup d'état in February 1948. The second subhead is dedicated to major changes in legal order and justice where was the most important that norms which was the basis for holding of political trials. The second chapter contains the characteristic of political trials, description of generation mechanism, incl. authority which has crucial impact on their actions, followed by the division of political trials according to involved groups of people. The dissertation deals with the landscape character assessment in cadaster areas of four selected towns and villages located in the former mining area of Rosice-Oslavany Black Coal Basin. The literary review contains a concise overview of basic concepts as well as an overview of both Czech and foreign methodologies of landscape character assessment. Part of the dissertation consists of the area´s extensive characteristics. In the presented dissertation, one particular methodology of landscape character assessment is chosen and further used in the proper landscape character assessment in the selected area. On the basis of the created assessment there are specified proposals of measures that should both contribute to landscape character preservation in the selected area and lead to improvements of aesthetic values in the chosen area.

The thesis is developed in the form of project documentation containing all requirements according to applicable regulations. The project addresses the new building freestanding buildings, municipal office with an elementary school. The building is a partial basement, three floors and basement. In the basement is the technical background of the building, utility room, machine room and communication space. On the first floor there are areas of the municipal office, library, parent center and game room with toilets. The second and third floors above ground occupied spaces elementary school. On the second floor we find classrooms, changing rooms and toilets. On the third floor is a dining room, suite, staffroom teachers and toilets. The project also includes dispositional studies, two special projects, assessment of buildings and structures in terms of building physics, or fire safety design of the building.
