Tvorba Jana Jiřího Schaubergera na Moravě / Work of Jan Jiří Schauberger in Moravia

Work of Jan Jiří Schauberger in Moravia This Diploma thesis treats about the life and work of Jan Jiří Schauberger, a baroque artist, who came from Austria, but worked and lived in Moravia, where he created many statues, as well as wooden or stucco sculptures, particularly in the interiors of churches. Among his best known and also the first work in Moravia belong riding statue of Caesar's fountain placed in Olomouc, erected in 1725. For the rest of his artistic life concentratedd his work primarily for sacral objects. He died relatively young as in his roughly 44 years in 1744, the exact date of his birth is unknown but is widely placed of about 1700. The first chapter is devoted to detailed criticism of literature related to the topic. Second, extensive chapter deals comprehensively with the life and work of sculptor. In the third chapter the author reflects on J. J. Schauberger's personality, in the next as about the artist. And last, the great part, is divided into several subsections depending on the material that was used for each major works, which the author discussed in detail in further sections. At the end the summarizes his findings.

Résumé Michael Osvald Thun's art commissions - inseparable part of a baroque aristocrat's image in the second half of the 17th century The dissertation deals with the art commissions of wealthy count Michael Osvald Thun who represents one of key builders in Bohemia in the second half of the 17th century. Beside buildings, an emphasis is also placed on other categories of art commissions, for example collections of sculptures and paintings. In the introduction, I define a terminology and summarize an existing research in the field of aristocrat art commissions. The next part analyses used sources, primary and secondary, dealing with history of the house of Thun, its financial standing, and person of Michael Osvald Thun. The fourth part is dedicated directly to Michael Osvald Thun, where I describe his family situation, upbringing, education process and adulthood. He was raised with respect to family values, public duty and administration of the family property that was a prerequisite for art commissions. The fifth part compares Thun's art commissions with art commissions of his siblings. Some of them hold significant bishop and archbishop posts. The thesis "J. S. Bach and His Piano Pieces for Music Art Schools" is focused on interpretation of the piano music of Johann Sebastian Bach. For the right understanding of the composer's musical narratives, it is necessary to acquire the basic knowledge and principles of the music theory in the Baroque era and to become familiar with the environment in which this extraordinary composer had been professionally developing and composing. This musician is presented here as the founder of a modern fingering whose musical language brought a change into musical thinking and he became inspiration and a role model for composers of the next centuries. This thesis highlights the importance of appropriately selected musical materials in piano teaching and it prefers the performance to be as authentic as possible. The main purpose of this paper is to update the knowledge of methodology and to find a comprehensive guide to a correct understanding of musical language of this genius that would help the music teachers introduce to pupils the beauty and timelessness of Bach's musical work and that would motivate them to other musical discoveries and make them desire to be further educated in music.
