Student: Marie Křivková Title of Thesis: Modification of parameters of nanoparticles prepared from aliphatic hydroxyacids polyesters Polyesters of aliphatic α-hydroxyacids are mentioned in the theoretical part. A significant part of it is mostly devoted to the polyester PLGA. Physicochemical properties, the process of biodegradation and biodistribution are described there. Subsequently, some examples of PLGA utilization in pharmacy and medicine are mentioned. The theoretical part deals also with the method of diffusion used for nanoparticles preparation, which was used in the experimental part, and the principles of size and surface charge measurements of these nanoparticles. The crucial part of this master thesis is based upon an experiment. It is focused on various approaches to the formulation of nanoparticles out of aliphatic polyester carriers with variable molecular constitution. Polymer PLGA with linear molecule and polymers containing PLGA branched on tripentaerythritol and polyacrylic acid were used. Posouzení vlivu monomerů formaldehydových pryskyřic na životní prostředí / Assessment of the effect of formaldehyde resin monomers on the environmentKalčíková, Gabriela January 2009 (has links)
Thousand of new substances with unknown environmental effect are produced and used daily. Many of them are deliberately or by negligence released and deposited into the environment where they could undergo different transport and degradation mechanisms. They are able to affect different types of organisms, as well as humans. For this reason, the awareness of the problems, associated with pollution of all environmental compartments is growing. The environmental impact of monomer formaldehyde resins, which are produced for commercial use, on the environment were studied in this research. For the purposes of ecotoxicological evaluation samples of melamine-formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde resin were chosen and three toxicity tests were run: acute test with measurement of inhibition of the mobility of Daphnia magna, the acute test with luminescent bacteria Vibrio fischeri and acute test with measurement of inhibition of oxygen consumption by activated sludge. For more comprehensive assessment of the impact of these substances on the environment, biodegradability was also determined. Both tested substances showed minor hazardous impact to testing organisms and it can be concluded, that these substances should not present a significant risk to the environment.

Title of Doctoral Thesis Preparation of pharmaceutical formulations based on polymeric and lipid carriers Nanomedicine allows application of nanoscaled drug delivery carriers to achieve a therapy that can be tailored in terms of e.g. controlled release, site-specific delivery and protection of an active substance. From multiple nanoplatforms available for drug delivery, advantage was taken of biocompatible and biodegradable polymers and lipids to enable targeted intracellular delivery, delivery of a poorly water-soluble drug and delivery of a sensitive macromolecule. In the study with biodegradable polymeric nanomaterial we worked with experimental poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) polymers. The formulations were optimised for targeting to phagocytic macrophages - of size up to 300 nm and negative surface charge. For this purpose, two linear and one branched PLGA were screened in combination with one of four surfactants in low concentrations (0.1-1%). The thesis deals with hemp (Cannabis sativa) and its utilization in many different branches of industry, food processing industry and other spheres of human existence. It results from many reasons: lead the human activities to respect his environment, to change the way of human activities, life style and thinking in relation with environment. I try to show the way, how to keep living standard without negative impacts. It means not to limit surroundings and not to harm environment. This is the way, how to live economically and ecologically. Production works on assumption of interests of consumers. For that reason I investigate possibilities and perspectives of use of products from technical hemp in Czech market. Also I investigate the technological, economical, political and societal view. Marketing study of interest in products of technical hemp shows, that there is serious interest of respondents in these products. In the future it is necessary to deal with initiate problems mainly from the view of consumers, study the market branches and each individual hemp commodities. In the first instance it is necessary to press technical hemp as the useful and multilaterally effective plant. We can{\crq}t do that only because of trading profits, which are not so attractive. We have to do that, because we know we support the good thing. Really, it is not important, if we will do it, but when we will start with it. I would like to point out, that there is not only welfare of individuals, but also welfare of the whole society. Still the fundamental is to respect all living creatures as well as to all things.

Biodegradabilní kostní implantáty na bázi železa / Biodegradable bones implants based on ironHrabovský, Jan January 2021 (has links)
This work deals with a current topic, which are biodegradable bone implants. These implants seem to be a suitable candidate for temporary fixations, with their gradual decomposition. An important parameter is not only the mechanical properties so that the material can withstand the load, but above all the corrosion properties and the degradation process. This work introduces the physiology of bone, trace elements and also describes current trends in the field of implants. The last part is a theoretical introduction to cross-stage processes. The practical part is focused on the preparation of iron-based samples with various dopants, subsequent annealing and analysis.
