The following chapter deal with a socio-economic and demographic characteristic of the region.

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the condition of organic farming and organic production in the Moravian-Silesian Region with a focus on the district Bruntal. The first part of the thesis outlines the history and current state of organic farming in the Czech Republic and the world, presents the basic principles and ideas of organic farming and also deals with the topic of organic food. This section also presents the Moravian-Silesian Region and the district Bruntal. The second part contains information about organic farming and organic production in the Moravian-Silesian Region and its individual districts. The situation in the district of Bruntal is analyzed in detail. The analysis is supplemented by a questionnaire survey, which is focused on ecological entrepreneurs in the district and also on consumers. In conclusion, the information obtained is summarized and discussed.
