Three types of magnetic memory elements with emphasis placed on low cost and batch fabrication are investigated. The type I element consists of a wired hole in a strip of Deltamax tape. The type II element uses a stack of magnetic tape instead of the Deltamax. The type III element consists of a pre-wired grid with magnetic material deposited around the grid to simulate a wired core. The results obtained from these investigations showed conclusively that the type I element, referred to as apertured Deltamax memory cell in this paper, operates satisfactorily as a memory element. The fabrication technology is based on etching small holes through a thin Deltamax tape to form memory cells. The operation of the uncompensated and compensated memory cell is investigated. Oscillograms and graphs of the typical characteristics response of the memory cell are presented, and a qualitative description given. The type II and type III elements are found incapable of operating as a memory device because of the magnetic properties of the available tape and magnetic powder. The circuitry of a dynamic register capable of decimal storage is developed as a basic operational block for a hybrid computer based on quantized pulse positions. Interconnections of these dynamic registers are studied with special reference to a five-digit parallel adder and an integrator comprising an incremental register and a serial adder. Input-output operations employing commercially available decade counting and display devices are discussed. <P> In this thesis, we mainly study geodesics on various two dimensional surfaces. All the background material needed throughout the thesis is provided, including an explanation of the theory of geodesics. We will calculate geodesics using two numerical methods: Euler's method and Runge-Kutta method of fourth order. Using Maple, we will test the accuracy of the numerical methods on a test case surface, the Poincare half plane. Later, we proceed to investigate several interesting surfaces by numerically calculating geodesics. From the investigated surfaces, we will draw similarities between the human cerebral cortex and certain surfaces. The human cerebral cortex is the most intensely studied part of the brain and it is believe that their exists a relation between the function and structure of the cortex. Geodesic analysis can possibly be an essential tool in better understanding the cortical surface as it is in many disciplines of science to understand the nature of physical based problems. </P> / Thesis / Master of Science (MSc)

This thesis evaluated the system costing in the chosen company. The two selected products were applied two methods for calculating calculation. It was recommended calculation of overhead surcharge according to purchase prices of selected products. Prices of the products were compared with the price of the competition. Finally, it was recommended measures to reduce company costs.

Diploma thesis deals with the issue of payroll accounting. Payroll accounting is modulated by wide range of legislation. The main goal is to create a comprehensive picture of how wages are calculated and what changes in this area occurred in 2007 - 2009. The individual chapters are examples, which tries to introduce the method of calculating wages. In a separate chapter describes how to calculate wages in a particular company.

Educators who use criterion-referenced measurement to ascertain the current level of performance of an examinee in order that the examinee may be classified as either a master or a nonmaster need to know the accuracy and consistency of their decisions regarding assignment of mastery states. This study examined the sampling distribution characteristics of two reliability indices that use the squared-error agreement function: Livingston's k^2(X,Tx) and Brennan and Kane's M(C). The sampling distribution characteristics of five indices that use the threshold agreement function were also examined: Subkoviak's Pc. Huynh's p and k. and Swaminathan's p and k. These seven methods of calculating reliability were also compared under varying conditions of sample size, test length, and criterion or cutoff score. Computer-generated data provided randomly parallel test forms for N = 2000 cases. From this, 1000 samples were drawn, with replacement, and each of the seven reliability indices was calculated. Descriptive statistics were collected for each sample set and examined for distribution characteristics. In addition, the mean value for each index was compared to the population parameter value of consistent mastery/nonmastery classifications. The results indicated that the sampling distribution characteristics of all seven reliability indices approach normal characteristics with increased sample size. The results also indicated that Huynh's p was the most accurate estimate of the population parameter, with the smallest degree of negative bias. Swaminathan's p was the next best estimate of the population parameter, but it has the disadvantage of requiring two test administrations, while Huynh's p index only requires one administration.
