The thesis focuses on the information and communication technologies and their impact on the competitiveness of the EU member states. The competitiveness on the macroeconomic level is an elusive unmeasurable concept, therefore the thesis focuses on the firms operating in the EU and on their ICT utilization rates. Apart from the use of ICT and internet, the thesis compares the EU member states from the perspective of e-commerce and qualitative aspects of the use of ICT such as the degree of development of ICT sector or education in fields STEM. The thesis is based on the hypothesis that increasing level of economic development of a country is linked with increasing use of ICT.

Many of the Swedish gazelles never leave the domestic market and often have a problem with leaving the start-up phase. One problem for the gazelles is that many are stagnating within a couple of years and few ever reach more than 50 employees. The purpose of this research is to extend the knowledge on how Swedish gazelle companies can continue to grow through internationalization. The thesis has used a qualitative method with an abductive approach. The research is based on a multiple case study of three gazelle companies where the data was collected through in-depth interviews.

The theoretical part represents possible types of attitudes and analysis to management, marketing, human resources management and financial management. The practical part demonstrates application of theoretical knowledge at specific company, micro-enterprise, IMPORTO Drive s.r.o. dealing with buying and selling of new cars in EU. The objective of this thesis is to design appropriate steps providing the long - term developmnent of analyzed company taking it`s vision fulfillment into consideration. Inspiration for future enterpreneurs could be also one benefit.

Monitoring a auditing strukturálních fondů EU / Monitoring and auditing in structural funds of EU

This thesis explores the question of the decentralization processes between institutions and other parties involved in auditing and monitoring of the structural funds of the EU. I evaluate the present functional relations of these subjects using document analysis. The thesis follows two levels of analysis, which are compared in the end. The first level concerns the general setting of the systems of relations between union bodies and member states. The second one presents specific situations in the operational program Prague Competitiveness. The thesis disproves the initial hypothesis and claim that the relations on the supranational level tend to be more deconcentrated than decentralized, whereas the system at the national level shows more decentralization characteristics in this specific case.

Inovační politika EU v ČR / EU Innovation Policy in the Czech Republic

The European Union (EU) puts more emphasis on innovation as a key means for regaining and maintaining competitiveness, a trait it lags behind in when compared to its main global competitors. It therefore possesses a range of tools designed to support innovative activities of firms and to improve the overall environment of innovation in the European Union and Member States. This thesis outlines/describes the major milestones in the development of innovation policies in the Czech Republic and the EU and focuses on supporting innovation in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Czech Republic via measures derived from the EU's financial tools. Special emphasis is applied to the Operational Programme Entrepreneurship and Innovation (OPIE) that in the Czech Republic is the main tool used to support innovation in firms. The main problem areas that may pose barriers to active impact for this support are identified on the basis of programme documents, assessment reports, statistical data on the programmes and qualitative information yielded from interviews with firm representatives experienced in this type of support. The subject of this diploma thesis is the design development of marketing communication to enhance brand competitiveness in company focused on fast moving consumer goods. Concretely the Knorr, food brand of Unilever company. The first part provides a theoreti-cal basis for the processing of the issue. In the practical part I have assessed the current marketing communication by using inter alia SWOT, PEST and Porter's analysis. Based on analysis of the current situation, I propose to improve marketing communications, including analysis of time, costs and risk.
