The diploma thesis is devided into two levels. The Primary part of the thesis is the theoretical part, which is part of project „FV10588 – New generation of spatial prefab made from high-firm concrete with increased mechanical resistence and endurance“, realized in cooperation with Faculty of Civil Engineering at VUT university – Institute of concrete and masonry structures. The project deals with frame corners in the form of steel and composite reinforcement which will compared through experiments and various kind of calculate proceedings. The secondary part of thesis focuses on the static-design project of cooling reservoir, placed under the ground, while is stressed by temperature. The reinforcement of the construction is realized in two ways – steel and composite reinforcement with their effectivity compared.

Role of silane-treated stöber silica as reinforcing filler for nitrile rubber (NBR) has been studied. Stöber silica is synthesized by sol–gel method, and the surface of silica is modified with the treatment of silane-coupling agent viz. γ-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (γ-MPS) in varying proportions. Average particle size of stöber silica of spherical shape in the range of 200 to 400 nm is evident from scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Surface modification of silica particle with silane-coupling agents decreases surface energy and reduces agglomeration of silica particles in rubber matrix. Stress–strain study and dynamic mechanical analysis of silica-filled composites are compared with the unfilled ones. Analysis of cross-linking density, mechanical properties, and storage moduli indicates a strong rubber–filler interaction in the silane-treated, silica-filled NBR composites. Silane treatment is found to be effective in uniform dispersion of silica in rubber matrix and in improving the mechanical properties of rubber composite. Different functionalities of organosilane at its both end improve the compatibility of silica with rubber matrix and offer better rubber–filler interaction.

This master‘s thesis deals with the behaviour of strengthened reinforced concrete beams. The aim was to evaluate different types of strengthening in comparison not only with each other, but also with the reference beam. Three reinforced concrete beams were fabricated for the purpose of the thesis. The first served as a reference beam, the second was strengthened with carbon lamella glued to the lower edge of the reinforced concrete beam, and the last one was strengthened with unbonded post-tensioning system. Subsequently, they were all loaded by a four-point bending. An evaluation was then carried out which shows that the two strengthened reinforced concreate beams resist the load much better than the reference beam. In the conclusion, different utilization possibilities of both methods are listed, as well as the disadvantages that must be taken into account when designing.

The diploma thesis deals with processing of determining the shear strength of concrete structures reinforced with composite reinforcement, subjected to shear force, according to five different design approaches. The theoretical part of the thesis is closely related to the project FW01010520 - "Development of bent composite reinforcement for environmentally exposed concrete constructions", which is realized at the Institut of Concrete and Masonry Structures, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. The project deals with the shear strength of concrete beams reinforced with steel and composite reinforcement in various combinations. Then the load-bearing results gained within the project are compared with the values obtained by calculations according to the solved design approaches and computer software Atena Science. The second part of the diploma thesis deals with the static design and assessment of the cell structure. The cell is designed as a room inside of the medical building, where is placed device of magnetic resonance which is the reason why the cell is reinforced with non-magnetic composite reinforcement.

The thesis specifically follows behavior concrete vault and the effects of load. Resistance vault is calculated by S&T model – strut and tie. Finally, the thesis contain strengthening construction by composite reinforcement. Strengthening is considered by two ways - strengthening by cohesive reinforcement and strengthening by incoherent reinforcement (wrapping).

The diploma thesis aims to analyze bent FRP reinforcements. It describes the method of production of bent FRP reinforcement, examples of application of FRR reinforcement in structures and mentions aggressive influences influencing the durability of FRP reinforcement. Furthermore, an experiment is proposed to monitor changes in straight and bent FRP reinforcement stored in an aqueous environment at 20 °C and an alkaline environment at 20 °C and 40 °C. The output of the diploma thesis is the evaluation of changes in mechanical properties and durability. The condition of the FRP reinforcement is documented using optical and electron mocroscopy.
