Starty sprinterských disciplín spastické atletky a specifika tréninkového procesu / Starts of sprint disciplines performed by spastic athlete and particularities of the training process

Šteklová, Petra January 2016 (has links)
Title: Starts of sprint disciplines performed by spastic athlete and particularities of the training process Aim of work: The aim of this work was analyzing of the specifics of athletic training determined for spastic sprinter class T38 and observation of the long term effect. Methods: This work presents an empiric-theoretical study. Due to the uniqueness of the theme, method of case study has been chosen (intra-individual observation). This method was applied on the particular spastic sprinter by using longitudinal quantitative observation during her top sport career and applying one-off analysis focused on evaluation of different types of starts. This observation had qualitative and quantitative part. The quantitative part was based on the interpretation of 2D video comparing three types of start (low start, mid-low start and low start with a diagonal arm position) with the optimal start position described in the books. Comparison of average time for 10 metre distance was determined as quantitative element. . The observational group consists of the sprinter with Cerebral Palsy at Czech representative level. Results: Our research resulted as follows: The mid-low start was assessed as the best one for the examined sprinter from the quality of start position point of view including the three...

Abjekce ve vybraných hrách Sarah Kane, Caryl Churchill a Tima Crouche / Abjection in Selected Plays by Sarah Kane, Caryl Churchill, and Tim Crouch

Kovačeva, Elizabet January 2017 (has links)
Thesis Abstract The present thesis offers to read six plays by three contemporary British playwrights - Sarah Kane's Crave (1997) and 4.48 Psychosis (1999), Caryl Churchill's The Skriker (1994) and Far Away (2000), and Tim Crouch's ENGLAND (2007) and The Author (2009) through the lens of Julia Kristeva's essay on abjection, Powers of Horror (1982). Kristeva theorizes abjection as that which retains some resemblance to the subject or object, but is neither - or no longer belongs to the subject. Being confronted with the abject is unpleasant because it is threatening for the subject. It contains all that is habitually removed from life and does not belong in the symbolic order - corpses and excrements. Likewise, the maternal body needs to become abject for the infant to realize its own borders and bodily integrity. Kristeva proposes that the abject finds its way back into the symbolic order through literature, and reads a number of writers as being concerned with the abject. In the theatre, as well as in the visual arts, abjection has been a useful theoretical starting point, despite the fact that it is seen by a number of critics as something which cannot truly be grasped, and as resisting description and verbal imposition. Each playwright and each play includes a different aspect of the abject. Central to...

Spelets regler : om postdemokrati och spelpolitik i Sverige / The Name Of The Game : postdemocracy And National Gaming Policy In Sweden

Norén, Liisa January 2020 (has links)
Colin Crouch wrote in his book Post - democracy (2004) about democracy in crisis, the dialogue in the society was no longer between the citizens and politicians, but on its way back to the hands of the politics and business elite. This qualitative case study takes position in the concept post-democracy to study the interaction between the Swedish state, gambling companies and other actors, when the implementation of a new law regarding gambling began to apply as a law in Sweden 1 January 2019. The aim of the study was to investigate whether, and if so in what way, the data collection could be seen as an example of post-democratic processes in Swedish politics. The process between the actors is highlighted by a review of documents drawn up by the government, parliament and its authorities, bookmakers, representatives of gambling addiction, gambling research and media reporting. The study was carried out on the basis of Colin Crouch's description of post-democracy in business, politics and citizenship, as well as political scientist Chantal Mouffe's concept of "politics” and "the political". The results of the analysis show that parts  of  the decision-making process and the aftermath can be referred to as post-democratic, and that, according to Mouffe's definition, the policies pursued by Mouffe are more concerned with democratic principles that are about freedom rather than equality

Severe crouch gait in the sagittal gait patterns of spastic diplegic cerebral palsy: the impact of single event multilevel surgery

Rodda, Jillian Maree January 2005 (has links) (PDF)
The purpose of this thesis was to study the outcome of Single Event Multilevel Surgery (SEMLS) on the gait pattern known as crouch gait in children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. The term “crouch gait” in the literature has been defined by many authors to mean a flexed knee coupled with many different combinations of posture at the ankle. Consequently it was necessary to provide a robust definition of crouch gait before the outcome study could proceed. Crouch gait was defined in the context of a classification of sagittal gait patterns in spastic diplegia. In the cross-sectional study on the classification of sagittal gait patterns, 187 children with spastic diplegia were categorised according to visual recognition of their gait pattern and sagittal plane kinematic data. Six gait patterns in spastic diplegia were identified, one of which was crouch gait. A pattern of increasing age, severity and biomechanical incompetency in maintaining an extended posture was seen across the gait patterns and crouch gait appeared to be the “end” gait pattern. A longitudinal study documented how the identified gait patterns evolved over time. Thirty-four children were followed for more than one year and the results indicated that the stability of the gait pattern was variable. The reliability of the classification was found to be acceptable. (For complete abstract open document)

Srovnání polonízkého a polovysokého startu / The comparison of standing and crouch start

Talácko, Zdeněk January 2021 (has links)
Title: The comparison of standing and crouch start Objectives: Analysis of time differences in base running from the position of standing and crouch start. Another goal was to compare these starts in group of male sprinters and then to compare these starts with female softball players. Methods: Mainly document analysis was used in my diploma thesis. The author used both Czech and foreign sources. The foreign sources were mainly scientific researches, professional studies and articles from scientific journals. The issue was closely linked to running bases in softball, athletic starts and strenght training focused on thy dynamic component. Standing and crouch starts were then examined in detail. Results: It was found that the standing start compared to the crouch start enhances the results of female softball players by 0,06 s at the distance of 20 meters. The difference in the group of male athletes was only 0,01 s. Major differences were observed in female softball players already within the first 5 meters where the first time difference appeared. This difference was gradually rising until the end of the 20 m distance. Keywords: base running, running in softball, athletic start, three-point stance start, standing start, crouch start

Comportement en temps long d'équations de type Vlasov : études mathématiques et numériques / Long time behavior of certain Vlasov equations : mathematics and numerics

Horsin, Romain 01 December 2017 (has links)
This thesis concerns the long time behavior of certain Vlasov equations, mainly the Vlasov- HMF model. We are in particular interested in the celebrated phenomenon of Landau damp- ing, proved mathematically in various frameworks, foar several Vlasov equations, such as the Vlasov-Poisson equation or the Vlasov-HMF model, and exhibiting certain analogies with the inviscid damping phenomenon for the 2D Euler equation. The results described in the document are the following. The first one is a Landau damping theorem for numerical solutions of the Vlasov-HMF model, constructed by means of time-discretizations by splitting methods. We prove more- over the convergence of the schemes. The second result is a Landau damping theorem for solutions of the Vlasov-HMF model linearized around inhomogeneous stationary states. We provide moreover a quite large amount of numerical simulations, which are designed to study numerically the nonlinear case, and which seem to show new phenomenons. The last result is the convergence of a scheme that discretizes in time the 2D Euler equation by means of a symplectic Crouch-Grossmann integrator.
