This thesis deals with a summary and evaluation of the practical measurement of brake discs and pads. The work consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the history of brake systems and existing knowledge about current trends in the design of braking systems such as EHB, BAS, SWT, and others. In the practical part there is graphical representation of the braking force dependant on timing of each brake disc in combination with different types of pads of different manufacturers. In the end, there is an overall evaluation of the results arising from the calculations and graphs.

The diploma thesis named Continuous monitoring of a machine tool wear deals with the issue of tool wear of machining. The thesis is divided into segments and the first segment deals with the areas of tool wear, the specific trends in the field of eliminating the tool wear and prolonging durability of tools, non-destructive test methods. These segments are a critical parts of the research, in the following part concentrates on the testing performed by the method of acoustic emission. The last part concentrates on the critical evaluation of the testing results.

Title: Human axial system: identification of connective tissues changes Objectives: The main objective of this thesis was to compile a review of techniques and methods currently used in identification of connective tissues changes. Methods: The method used in this thesis is a critical literature review - a study of research papers from available information sources accompanied by author's comments. Foreign sources are represented mostly by research papers accessible via electronic archives such as ScienceDirect, Pubmed, Springer, Wiley. Also other foreign publications were used. The theoretical part is focused on basic anatomy and physiology of the spine and states main methods of identification of connective tissues changes involved in this area. The main part describes particulars of researches dedicated to identification of functional and morphological characteristics of different spinal components. Results: In addition to classic methods of spinal research, the thesis introduces also new developing techniques and methods. Color filters enable photosensors to obtain spectral composition of incoming radiation, be it to mimic human vision or to separate analytical signals. Efforts to increase the resolution of these photosensors lead to decrease in size of individual picture elements – pixels, which places increasing demands on the color filter technology. Conventional color filters operating on the principle of absorption of light in organic pigments are frequently used, but they are no longer meeting growing requirements of increasing sensor resolution. Here, metasurfaces comes to an aid, utilizing nanostructures to separate colors and thus creating structural coloration. There are many approaches to separate colors using metasurfaces, but each carries certain disadvantages with their principle of operation. In this thesis, we present a novel approach to separate colors which utilizes manipulation of radiation polarization. The presented color filter is first modeled and optimizes through numerical simulations and then manufactured using nanofabrication methods. Finally, the optical response of nanostructures is verified by several optical spectroscopy methods.

his Diploma thesis concentrates on problems related to cutting tools, their wear, durability, and cutting conditions. The work provides basic analysis of technology applied to two selected parts. Further, there is also analysis of cutting tools suppliers. The work gives brief characteristics of the basic types of wear and their origins. In the experimental section is a statistical evaluation of selected tools, calculation of optimal cutting conditions and durability, and finally selected tools wear evaluated. The technical and economical evaluation compares cutting conditions provided in theory with the real cutting conditions.

This thesis deals with modern cutting cemented carbide tools. In the first section are stated several basic innovations already used tools for basic machining operations, which is turning, milling and drilling. It continues with analysis of single materials for production of cemented carbides, non coated as well as coated and with comparing of their properties. There are listed the basic cutting properties of the cutting tools after that. The penultimate point of the work is optimization of the basic machining operations, namely roughing and finishing, for a given application, which is in this case turning on the lamp stand. Finally, everything is summed up and evaluated in the conclusion.
