This diploma thesis deals with various factors affecting effective teaching of adults from teacher's perspective. The aim of this work is to determinate discrepancy of attitude to this issue based on knowledge from literature and professional teacher's experience. First of all the thesis defines term (effective) teaching of adults and then presents its key aspects. Then it identifies the nature of teaching objectives, (andro)didactic principles and defines main characteristics and competencies of an effective teacher in this context. The thesis also describes impact of learning environment on effective teaching and characterizes (study) stress as well as its impact on effective teaching adults. The thesis focuses on the use of material didactic resources in teaching science at selected schools in Liberec. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is a literature survey, which characterizes didactic means in general on the basis of scientific literature. The aim of the thesis was to look more thoroughly at didactic aids, which are the main part of material didactic resources. Furthermore, to focus on the function of the resources in the classroom and to present the options and principles that should be followed when selecting them in order to make their use as effective as possible. The second, practical part, presents the results of observations from a total of 29 lessons which were taught as open lessons, in 3 primary schools in Liberec. The analysis of the collected data provided us with information on how much of the lesson the observed teachers devote to the use of material didactic resources. On the basis of the time load, we got an overview of the preferred resources and could evaluate whether they are traditional (workbook, classical blackboard, textbooks) or modern (Internet services, interactive whiteboards).

Title: Didactic interaction between teacher and child in preparatory swimming lessons. Objects: The object of this thesis was to describe and analyze the interaction profiles of two kindergarten teachers. Both teachers have many years of teaching experience of preparatory swimming lessons with children 3 to 4 years old. At the same time the aim was to contribute to the objectification of ideas about the specific didactic interaction in the physical learning in the water. Methods: The method of participant observation of two kindergarten teachers with many years of teaching experience was used at this thesis. The data collection was realized by taking a video. Processing and evaluating of the video followed using a modified analysis of didactic interaction method. The method of questioning was also used for the observed teachers. Results: According to our results the most common form of behavior of two selected teachers during the lessons was instruction. The most common of one of our selected teacher was using notification. The other teacher was using feedback and participation the most often. According to the content of didactic interaction dominated learning activities in all analyzed videos. The aim of this work was to create a set of didactic/methodological games for teaching biology, that would be appropriate to be realized on school gardens. The games were constructed for the broader cross-curricular usage within the secondary schools. The thesis consists of two parts. Firstly, the theoretical part was processed as literary research with the use of available Czech and German resources. Secondly, the practical part contains a set of games, complemented by methods for teachers. There were special aids created for every single game. Finally, four of the games were verified in practice.

The diploma thesis deals with online map sources and the ability of using them in the Geography education on the 2nd grade of primary schools. The main goal is to create two map applications in the ArcGIS and worksheets and the possibility of applying them into the Geaography education in primary schools. The theoretical parts deals mainly with the issue of teaching Geography in primary schools and making of didactic tools, with focus on digital ones. In the practical part the author focuses on map applications, creating worksheets and their integration into the educational process. The practical part includes also a brief analysis of free accesible map sources and their usage in the educational process. At the end, there is an evaluation of the ability of using the ArcGIS applications in the education.

The aim of this investigation was to discover if there is different knowledge of Human Physiology at Grammar Schools students and Secondary Nursing Schools students. The research carried out among students of secondary schools showed that the time interval in school curriculum hadn´t a big effect on the amount of students´ knowledge. The research consisted of preparing and checking of a didactic test investigating the Human Physiology knowledge, then its distribution at carefully chosen secondary schools and finally evaluation the results. The didactic test was submitted to 156 third-level students, 87 fourth-level students at Grammar Schools and 56 students at medical secondary school. The test was set just after finishing the topic of Human Physiology with the third-level students. The fourth-level students completed the test with a 6-month interval. The test results could show if the time interval of a term influenced students´ knowledge and if they could remember the information after certain time. Analysis of results carried out in particular levels was evaluated in details and summarized in charts.

My Diploma Thesis deals with the teaching English language to mentally handicapped people. The theoretical part describes the main aims of the Vivace project and it introduces the Centre for Mentally Handicapped People Empatie. I deal with the description of the term mental disability, degrees of mental disability, psychical abnormalities in behaviour of mentally handicapped people and causes of mental disability. Other chapters deal with teaching methods and principles which are suitable for teaching to mentally handicapped people. The last chapter deals with the problem of integration. The practical part describes English lessons in detail and it evaluates their process. The aim is to describe teaching methods and principles which are suitable for teaching mentally handicapped people.

In this diploma paper there is a set of biological didactic games for natural science at primary school. The games are divided into four sections - botanical games, zoological games and some topics of human biology, mineralogy and geology. According to the possibilities of their usage in the education they are divided into three groups again. We call them revision games, which are useful to revision and fix curriculum, and knowing games for gaining new knowledge and finally motivational games to interest the students. The theoretical base is set on specialized literature. In the appendix there are concepts of didactical games with their gadgets like texts, cards, game plans, pictures, maps and photographs.
