Vliv rozdílných diet na hematologické a biochemické ukazatele u laboratorního potkana / The influence of different diet on the hematological and biochemical parameters in rats

Hudíková, Tereza January 2015 (has links)
This thesis aims to investigate the relationship between increased protein dosage intake and selected haematological and biochemical markers. An experiment was designed using the Wistar laboratory rats of the male gander and similar age (born within +/- 5 days). These specimens were then divides into 3 groups with 10 specimens each. The age of the specimens at the beginning of the experiment was around 62 days. The first group was fed the standard corny mixture ad libitum, while the second group received 6 grams of the standard corny mixture and 10 grams of beef meat per day (thus reflecting the same amount of nitrous compounds as for the first group) and the last (third) group was fed ad libitum with homogenised beef meat. Before the diet was imposed on the three groups, blood samples were collected from all specimen from the lateral tail vein; after the diet was completed, blood samples were collected by in vivo heart puncture. All blood samples were subjected to haematological (using EDTA blood) and biochemical (using blood plasma) analysis. Overall, the following markers were measured: amount of erythrocytes, haematocrit level, haemoglobin level and Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) for the haematological analysis and triacylglycerol level, cholesterol level, amount of urea, amount of magnesium and the amount of iron for the biochemical analysis. Dietary induced significant changes were observed for the following markers: number of erythrocytes, levels of haemoglobin and MCV from the haematological analysis and cholesterol levels, amount of magnesium and amount of iron from the biochemical analysis; therefore showing that altered diet can have affect haematological and biochemical blood markers.

Informovanost žáků vybraných středních škol o problematice orthorexie / Awareness of students selected secondary schools on the issue orthorexia

Janečková, Karolína January 2013 (has links)
TITLE: Awareness of students selected secondary schools on the issue orthorexia AUTHOR: Bc. Karolína Janečková DEPARTMENT: Pedagogy department SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Eva Marádová, CSc. ABSTRACT: The topic of my dissertation is orthorexia nervosa, one of the modern eating disorders, and the impact of a Czech school on its development. The aim of this dissertation is to identify what knowledge about orthorexia issues the secondary medical school students have, what is their opinion on eating disorders, and to suggest a sample lesson focusing on this problem. To prove this fact, a quantitative research through a questionnaire has been used. This research was implemented in selected secondary medical schools and grammar schools. The results clearly indicate that students do not have sufficient knowledge about orthorexia and that the difference in the knowledge of medical students at secondary schools and grammar schools is negligible, although the composition of their diet is more concerned with secondary medical school students. In view of the fact of these and other findings, a draft of a sample lesson focusing on the issue of eating disorders and orthorexia has been developed. KEY WORDS: Orthorexia nervosa, eating disorders, Health education, excessive interests in healthy diet, diets, nourishment.

Klinické diety ve výživě psů / Clinical diets in dog nutrition

ONDŘICHOVÁ, Martina January 2012 (has links)
The work deals with evaluation of the incidence of individual types of urinary stones in dogs, and the effect of specialised clinical diets on the treatment of urolithiasis. The evaluted material consists of an aggregate of analytical results from extracted urinary stones from the Veterinary clinic Vltava, in the period from January 30, 2008 to September 12, 2011. The effect of administration of specialised clinical diets for urolithiasis was evaluated on the basis of case histories of sample patients with proven struvite urolithiasis and an occurence of calcium oxalates and urates. The analysed aggregate of laboratory results of tested urinary stones has shown that besides a high incidence of struvite, the frequency of occurence of calcium oxalates increases as well. In this analysis even up to an identical percentage with struvite occurence at 44,44 % (that is, 24) analysed concrements. A link has been established with overal greater proneness of males to the formation of urinary stones. In the patient group with analysed majority percentage of whewellite, only 12,5 % of the analysed aggregate were females. Considering the widely varied pedigrees of analysed patients, incidence of urolithiasis is expected with ever greater frequency even in dogs not predisposed by breed and crossbreeds. Specialised clinical diets are employed in the treatment and prevention of certain types of urinary stons with high success rate, which adjust the urine environment and thus reduce the risk of occurence of urinary stones. Given the possibility of recurrence of urinary stones, i tis necessary to perform regular urine testing, and eventual sonographic examinations of the bladder

The research of the researching problems was grounded in via questionnaire (totally 270 questionnaires, 30 on each type of the school) which was conducted at Special Secondary School, Secondary Medical School and Grammar School with students of 1., 2., 3. graded in České Budějovice. Hypothesis assumed a heightened risk of arising disorder of food intake, bigger bias in their bodies and a heightened anxiety at the same time at Grammar School students which was also confirmed by the research. The conclusion includes a recommendation of precaution for parents, pedagogues and educators. It could provide them with sufficient amount of information about possible risks and curative procedures. VÝŽIVOVÉ ZVYKLOSTI A POHYBOVÁ AKTIVITA V SOUVISLOSTI S PORUCHAMI PŘÍJMU POTRAVY U MUŽŮ / EATING BEHAVIOUR AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES RELATED TO EATING DISORDERS IN MALE POPULATION

KOUBKOVÁ, Magda January 2009 (has links)
Eating disorders have been studied from different points of view lately. They have occured in the centre of various psychiatric and psychologic diagnostics and therapy surveys and they have also been analysed as a sociocultural element of our lifestyle norms, our values and image standards. The number of men and women suffered from these disorders cannot be neither compared nor omitted. It is statistically clear that about ten per cent of anorexics and bulimics are male patients. Going West, the number of male patients is increasing. These disorders in men are usually connected with jobs, mostly those such as jockeys, gymnasts and dancers. Bulimia and anorexia are reported as typically women disorders therefore men hardly any time concede they can suffer from this problem and need a specialist´s advice.. The aim of the work has been to map eating behaviour, a lifestyle, physical activities and risk factors responsible for eating disorder incidence such as a distorted view of the body and being on a diet among men between the ages of 15 to 30. A quantitative technique approach using questionnaires was applied. There were stated four hypotheses concerning the relation between body acceptance and physical activities, methods used for body weight control and differences in lifestyles of secondary school students.

Život celiaka a jeho rodiny v dnešní době / Life of coeliac and his family in these days

Machovcová, Denisa January 2020 (has links)
Name: Life of coeliac and his family in these days Aim: The aim of my diploma thesis is to map life difficulties of people with celiac disease. First of all, it is a problem with gluten-free diet which is essential for celiac disease. Problems with eating out, shopping for ingredients for meal preparation at home, expensiveness of this eating, and last but not least, support from insurance companies and the state. Methods: The theoretical part includes findings about celiac disease as an illness, it means the characteristics of its origin, diagnostics and treatment. Furthermore, findings about gluten- free diet and problems related to this kind of eating were worked. Last but not least, diet and availability of food for gluten-free eating are mentioned. I applied a survey method in the practical part, in which case an anonymous survey was created electronically by using Google forms, and then sent out via internet. The survey was filled out by 296 respondents. Outcome: We can see from the outcomes that most of the respondents sometimes break the diet due to social integration. Furthermore, we observed the frequency of eating in restaurant services, in which case most of the people sometimes visit, it means less than once a week. The reason of sporadic or even no visit to restaurants is bad...
