This Diploma thesis deals with unconventional monetary policy tools, specifically with quantitative easing and its impact on two macroeconomic variables – GDP and inflation. Unconventional monetary policy has been mostly implemented since last financial crisis broke out in 2008 and has replaced the traditional but inefficient interest rate policy because of low interest rate environment. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate macroeconomic effects of quantitative easing according to previously empirically estimated effects of QE between 2010 and 2018 and to identify the differences of these effects among three concerned economies – the USA, the United Kingdom and Euro area using linear regression. The question of effectiveness of QE’s impact on macroeconomic variables is answered in accordance with the main findings of the thesis and some related recommendations for future implementation of economic policy are made.

This master thesis focuses on the impact of alcohol on families if one of the parents is addicted looking through the lens of the theoretical concept of AHTO. To fulfil the research goal I chose a literature review then followed up qualitative interviews with experts from the ranks of social and health services workers and OSPOD. According to the interviewed experts, forms of AHTO appear in families as follows - relationship problems, psychological damage (distrust, feeling helpless, low self-confidence, guilt, shame, rejection or not acknowledging the seriousness of the situation), financial difficulties, domestic violence. Then, in the case of children, mental harm, attention deficit disorders, parentification, worsened academic results, relationship problems, parental or alcohol rejection. Experts most often encounter solutions strategies such as control, negotiation or playing on emotions, threats, trying to help, trying to solve the situation of an addict, downplaying the situation, hiding the situation, rejecting a person. The thesis compiles the theoretical knowledge about the hard of hearing and society's attitudes towards them. The gradual change in attitude towards these people throughout various historical periods is described and this description of the evolution of their social status is concluded with the analysis of the current situation in the Czech Republic. The empirical part examines the influence of hearing loss on a person's involvement in modern day society. The research is qualitative and it examines the opinions of the affected people themselves and also experts working with this target group. The results of the research reflect a positive shift in the attitude towards the hard of hearing, but simultaneously show that their needs and abilities remain misunderstood. This diploma thesis is focused on examining the impacts of the distribution of the tax burden/benefit on the seller and the buyer in the changes of the VAT rates for foodstuffs in the countries of the European Union, between years 2010 and 2016. The main objective of the work is to set relative values of the tax incidence for consumers and producers in the individual EU countries, and then to deter-mine the general model of this distribution. For the solution, the tax impact meas-urement method was used at the time of the tax rate change using formulas. It was found that in the EU countries the average tax burden on the buyer was 66%. The buyer also receives an average tax benefit of 58% on average. This finding is beneficial for tax policy makers in their decision making.

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of food waste across the supply chain and especially on food waste in Czech restaurants. The aim of the thesis is to describe the process of food loss and food waste. The diploma thesis also identifies the causes of food waste and propose measures to reduce it.

This master's thesis analyzes the impact of euro implementation on corporation finance of a particular company. Czech Republic's accesion to the monetary union will entail positive and negative changes that will affect all entities in the economy. In this thesis, these impacts are analyzed and their expected net effect on the company is determined. The conclusion is focused on the evaluation of the impact of the single currency on the company, identification of the main risks associated with the necessary transformations and suggestion of the recommendations that will help the company to a successful transition to the euro.

The thesis deals with possible impacts of non-zero rate of excise tax on still wine if applied on market subjects which means consumers, producers and the government. Function of price elasticity demand for wine in the Czech Republic is created and using regression analysis is found that demand for wines in the Czech Republic is inelastic. Original hypothesis that introduction of excise tax of 10 CZK per one litter of still wine would not positively impact any of affected subjects has not been confirmed. Demand for still wine would be reduced if excise tax was exercised and therefore producers and customers would be harmed but the analysis shows that the government would increase its tax collection. Another finding is that cheap wines are more price elastic and impact of tax growth on demand for these wines would be greater than in case of more expensive wines. Results of research are applied on the VINIUM Company and its financial statements with finding that introduction of excise tax would probably lead to bankruptcy of the company.

The work focuses on mapping the current situation in the media market in the Czech Republic. It examines in particular the impact of current economic situation in the media organizations. Media behave in the marketplace as commercial enterprises (except public Czech Television and Czech Radio - for comparison are also included in the work), their main objective is to generate profit. Media organizations derive revenue primarily from advertising specified, are therefore dependent on the financial system as a whole. If advertisers due to unfavorable economic situation restricts the publication of advertisements in the media, media organizations will automatically drop revenues, resulting in running the organization. The work investigates how the specific effects of the decline in economic activity in media organizations. For an overall analysis of the main characters in particular those such as revenue from principal activities of the organization, the total profit or changes in staffing. The industrial age was bound to end when the microprocessor was invented. Even though the classical economic theory applies for today as well as for the 1960s, the last thirty years were symptomatic by the change of the fundamental characteristics of the economy and information technology plays a key role in this process. The aim of this thesis was to describe the principles and micro- and macroeconomic phenomena present in the New Economy of today, the challenges that the companies face in this environment and, finally, to conduct a cross-industry analysis on the impact of IT on company's performance, namely value-added. The empirical results did not show any clear patterns among the industries and therefore no significant relationship between the share of information technology assets of total assets and company's value-added could be proven. One of the reasons for that could be the technical issues regarding the statistical measurement of IT which also remains the biggest challenge for the researchers in this field.
