Mat för små barn som inte tål mjölk : Om hur recept kan möta familjernas behov kring mat och måltider / Food for small children who are allergic to milk : How recipies can face the needs of the families regarding food and meals

Andersson Lee, Malina January 2016 (has links)
Families with small children who are allergic to milk experience that they require practical advice on food and meals. The purpose of this study was to investigate if, and if so how, recipes can meet the needs regarding food and meals that these families feel that they have. Total 15 recipes were developed. These were tested by 11 families by cooking and tasting the meals at two workshops. During both workshops the parents were interviewed to find out their opinions on the recipes as well as their needs. The results indicate that recipes may be a useful remedy for families with milk allergy, given that the recipes consider the families’ very needs as regarding to food. The needs of the families’ are contradictory, however they can be summed up into recipes. In order to combine the families’ need for ease and responsibility for nutritious food, the food must be quick and simple but still emanate from the nutritional requirements for small children with milk allergy. Likewise identity related to taste is important. Good food is synonymous with well-known tastes for families with children.

Adele Steinwender : observations of a German woman living on a Berlin mission station as recorded in her diary

Brammer, Birgit 20 August 2008 (has links)
In 1885 Adele Steinwender arrived in South Africa from Germany. Her vocation was that of a teacher, but unlike the majority of white women who moved to the colonies to teach, Steinwender taught the children of the missionaries, as opposed to the local children. During her five years in Bethanie, a Berlin Mission Station in the Orange Free State, she kept a diary recording her observations of day-to-day life. Steinwender’s diary reveals certain aspects that were often neglected in the diary of the male missionaries, namely the domestic side of life. Her commentaries provide one with a unique perspective on missionary activities, not only because she is writing as a woman, but because although she is in the employ of the Berlin Mission Society, she herself, was not a missionary. Thus her reflections are that of an “outsider”. She was an outsider in more senses than one, considering she was an unmarried woman, who was financially independent, and this set her apart from the other woman who lived within this community at the time. Another aspect that made her unique was that she was the most recent arrival from Germany. Although the white residents of Bethanie did attempt to uphold their germanness during their time spent abroad, they had somewhat adapted to a more “colonial lifestyle”. Throughout her diary, Steinwender cites examples of such cultural adaptations amongst the people living there. That having been said, however, the missionaries and their families still held a feeling of superiority over the local population and there was a deeper sense of German nationalism that was prevalent at all times. This study examines the diary alongside nationalism and gender and provides one with an image of what a community was perceived like through the eyes of Steinwender. She proved to be the exception more than the rule, yet there is a perpetual undertone of her wanting to fit within the confines of what was considered to be normal. / Dissertation (MHCS)--University of Pretoria, 2008. / Historical and Heritage Studies / unrestricted

Proměny motivace k učení se češtině: pohled studentů v kurzech češtiny při studijním pobytu v ČR / Changes in motivation to learn Czech: Study Abroad students' perspective in Czech language courses

Převrátilová, Silvie January 2021 (has links)
Motivation is one of the strongest predictors of success in learning a foreign language. Although it has been discussed extensively, most studies have examined large world languages. This paper brings new insight into the motivation to learn Czech as a second language in the context of study abroad at Charles University in Prague. First, the theoretical part introduces essential theoretical frameworks of motivation in applied linguistics from a historical perspective, including the L2 motivational self-system (L2MSS) chosen for the empirical part. Secondly, study abroad as a language learning context is described, and literature on motivation to learn L2 in this context is reviewed. The methodology chapter summarizes possible approaches to research language learning motivation and assesses their suitability for the presented research. The empirical part examines the dynamic process of motivation among students coming for one semester to study in the Erasmus+ program at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, and in the American program UPCES (Undergraduate Program in Central European Studies) Study Abroad, Charles University. The data collection tools (diaries, questionnaires, and interviews) were tested in preliminary research. It was revealed that there is a relatively significant change...

Édition critique des lettres de Juliette Drouet à Victor Hugo de 1874-1875 / Juliette Drouet’s letters to Victor Hugo, edition and study for 1874-1875

Heute, Véronique 29 June 2017 (has links)
For fifty years, from 1833 to 1883, Juliette Drouet wrote about twenty-two thousand letters to Victor Hugo. The corpus studied, 653 letters more one envelope, offers the continuous reading of the letters, transcribed and annotated. It is part of a project of the complete edition of this correspondence, which Florence Naugrette, Professor at the University Paris-Sorbonne, is the Director. These letters have a triple interest : biographical, historical and literary. Juliette Drouet describes new family life of Victor Hugo who decided to meet her grandchildren, daughter-in-law and Juliette Drouet, different floors in the same building of the 21 street of Clichy. This move is announced early in the year 1874 and occupies number of letters, just as the development of the second floor where lives of Juliette Drouet and where Victor Hugo works and receives his guests at his dinner and his evenings. Moreover, these letters are a testimony of the daily life of a housewife at the end of the 19th century, and her servants. They also evoke the proximity with animals, the use of drugs and give valuable information on the relationships between patients, health and medicine. Their literary interest is revealed in the reviews of Quatrevingt-Treize and the readings of Le Rappel, in addition to the hybrid kind of epistolary diary that these letters have. Victor Hugo legitimate this relationship with the five letters that he write her every year and shows that Juliette Drouet is the cornerstone of his existence.

Srovnání práce fotografky Nan Goldin a dnešního uživatele Instagramu / Comparison of photographer Nan Goldin's work with Instagram's users generated photography

Valentová, Marie January 2020 (has links)
Contemporary constantly expanding content of social media like Instagram brings the medium of photography to new contexts. Photography becomes an instrument of immediate communication and its historically defined functions are an object of change. The continuity of Instagram content creating, the personal perspective of its users, the constant presence of camera accompanying them are aspects analogous to the artwork of Nan Goldin. Goldin's photo essay The Ballad of Sexual Dependency (1986)has a character of visual diary that captures the life of her community with almost obsessive continuity. It's also captured from deeply personal perspective depicting intimate moments and describing Goldin's personal relationships. Publishing of The Balladand formation of Instagram is divided by more than twenty-five years and both events and its meanings are profoundly different. This thesis nevertheless presumes that comparison of these, in many aspects alike phenomenons can help describe the change of the function of the media of photography, explore contemporary tendencies in photography aesthetics, the meaning of instagram's content to its users and provide general understanding of the role of shared photography in social and historical context. The methods of comparison are semiotic visual analysis,...

Forest science field education at the University of Helsinki: A case study analysing learning diaries from the forest ecology field course

Rekola, Mika 21 June 2019 (has links)
A Helsinki University field course 'Forest and peatland ecology', organised in June 2017, was studied using qualitative text analysis of students' learning diaries as a main source of data. Students' self-regulative knowledge was explored and found rather limited which is in line with some earlier literature. Teaching methods during the course were evaluated very positively by students. One of the main results was that the more activating teaching methods were perceived more positively. Learning diaries included a few negative evaluations and these can be seen as a valuable source of feedback. lt is concluded that the field course is an extremely relevant method in order to achieve professional knowledge in forest sciences. The recommendations for future teaching planning are that more emphasis should be put on communicating learning aims, modern learning technology, and finally, critical self-regulation knowledge.
