Organização da assistência em urgências e emergências para pacientes com suspeita de dengue: novas propostas / Assistance organization in emergency care for patients with suspected dengue: new proposalsCaravelas, David Tibiriçá 14 December 2016 (has links)
Dengue fever is an acute febrile infectious disease caused by an arbovirus with four known serotypes: DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-4. It is transmitted by the mosquito Aedes aegypti. The dengue is clinically manifested by high fever associated with headache, myalgia, prostration, retro-orbital pain, arthralgia and rash. It is usually benign, but can progress to severe forms and death. Dengue is a major global public health problem: WHO estimates that each year 50 million to 100 million infections occur. In the dengue year 2014-2015 a disease epidemic hit Brazil in all its extension. The Southeast region was the most affected, and among the states, São Paulo recorded an increased number of cases and deaths. Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo municipality located in the northeast, remained on alert during the period. Zeng Dynasty and His Reigning over TaiwanSong, Guei-long 04 July 2008 (has links)
The movement of history will not be isolated from any outside and has the absolute impact on the rest of the world. Before "Formosa" (Illa Formosa) was found, Taiwan is not excluded from the historical evolution, and of developing their unique characteristics. The Portuguese discovery of Taiwan and countries around the world is the key to the connections of historical development and allowing Taiwan into the era of sailing.
Taiwan's prehistoric times to illustrate the unique historical and cultural evolution; Han Chinese enter Taiwan for the sake of survival, and further change in Taiwan's existing constitution. Besides changing from hunting to farming technology has greatly improved the lives of local residents, a large number of Han Chinese Immigration has also developing the continental culture; trade demand from the Netherlands, Taiwan is seen at the world stage, also the first time for Taiwan to accept the baptism of different cultures; Prior to this, Japan desires Taiwan for a long time, but their moves and policies end up giving up invasive intentions. While Spain for the sake of trade and dissemination of cultural purposes to compete with the Netherlands, Taiwan has already evolved into East Asia as the most important geopolitical position.
The Zengs¡¦ developments in Taiwan, showing they play essential role in the history of Taiwan. As establishment of the first regime, it is absolutely a glorious event. Moreover, its implementation in the military, economics, political, internal affairs and diplomacy, until the present Taiwan still had far-reaching impact. The cultural monument and place names can be powerful proof.
Zeng and Qing¡¦s proposals can reflect the status quo in Taiwan and the failure of Zeng¡¦s regime can be a good lesson for leaders in Taiwan. If Taiwan can not get lessons from history, the tragedy will be inevitable. The ultimate solutions can be extracted from the lesson. Facing the rising power of China, the Republic of China undergo severe political environment, which is comparable to Zeng¡¦s condition. The focus of this study hope to provide different points of view to review the past and develop a future module.

Campaign advertising and its effects : the case of MexicoRivera, Gustavo 26 June 2014 (has links)
This dissertation explains how and under what conditions voters are affected by campaign advertising, taking particular account of the conditioning role played by political knowledge and ad tone. It builds on psychological research showing that people make regular mistakes in attribution, evaluation, and decision making; that they tend to give greater weight to negative than to equally credible positive information; that they better match their political choices with their interests and values when they are more politically knowledgeable; and that cognitive shortcuts cannot fully compensate for meager political knowledge. I introduce a psychological theory of how individuals react to campaign advertising in light of: (1) their political knowledge and (2) their natural impulse to give greater weight to negative information (i.e., negativity bias). Using data from an original laboratory experiment conducted in Mexico City in 2012 and from the 2006 Mexico Panel Study, I examine the effect of campaign advertising on the attribution of candidates' character traits, the evaluation of candidates' policy proposals, and vote intentions. I show that campaign advertising's effects on the attribution of candidates' character traits and the evaluation of their policy proposals are conditioned by the voter's degree of political knowledge and the ad's tone (negative or positive). I also show that campaign advertising has a significant, indirect effect on vote intentions through its effect on the attribution of candidates' character traits and the evaluation of their policy proposals. Finally, I explain why negative advertising has systematically bigger effects on voting behavior than equivalent positive advertising. I look at the case of Mexico to shed light on the effects of campaign advertising in developing democracies. Since most academic research has looked at the United States, this thesis intends to deepen our understanding of campaign advertising in comparative perspective, looking at a country where the thinness of party identification, the ambiguity of issue ownership, and the novelty of the party system renders voters more susceptible to information in campaign advertising. / text

Dynamic process modelling for business engineering and information systems evaluationGiaglis, George M. January 1999 (has links)
This research is concerned with the pre-implementation evaluation of investments in Information Systems (IS). IS evaluation is important as organisations need to assess the financial justifiability of business change proposals that include (but usually are not limited to) the introduction of IS applications. More specifically, this research addresses the problem of benefits assessment within IS evaluation. We contend that benefits assessment should not be performed at the level of the IS application, as most extant evaluation methods advocate. Instead, to study the dynamics and the interactions of the IS applications with their surrounding environment, we propose to adopt the business process as the analytic lens of evaluation and to assess the impacts of IS on organisational, rather than on technical, performance indicators. Drawing on these propositions, this research investigates the potential of dynamic process modelling (via discrete-event simulation) as a facilitator of IS evaluation. We argue that, in order to be effective evaluation tools, business process models should be able to explicitly incorporate the effects of IS introduction on business performance, an issue that is found to be under-researched in previous literature. The above findings serve as the central theme for the development of a design theory of IS evaluation by simulation. The theory provides prescriptive elements that refer both to the design products of the evaluation and the design process by which these products can come into reality. The theory draws on a set of kernel theories from the business engineering domain and proposes a set of meta-requirements that should be satisfied by business process models, a meta-design structure that meets these requirements, and a design method that provides guidance in applying the theoretical propositions in practice. The design theory is developed and empirically tested by means of two real-life case studies. The first study is used to complement the findings of a literature review and to drive the development of the design theory's components, while the second study is employed to validate and further enhance the theory's propositions. The research results support the arguments for simulation-assisted IS evaluation and demonstrate the contribution of the design theory to the field.

Teaching is a permanent and unique construction. There are many different paths the teacher can follow, having the practice, the students, the other people and the world as partners. In a reflective movement, having humility and curiosity as principles, the teacher reworks his actions and conceptions, reconfiguring his ways of learning and teaching. Based on these assumptions, the study intended, through the contents of school geography, to allow for moments of interaction and learning between the children/students and the researcher teacher. The participants were from the fifth grade of elementary school (group B), at Alberto Torres School, in Lajeado, RS. The students in this grade learn through the knowledge areas. And I was the Geographical and Historical Studies teacher, in which is included Geography and History. The study objective was reflecting on the epistemological conceptions constituted with the Geography teaching proposals and my teaching performance. The methodological path of research started with a literature revision and, from the Geographical syllabus proposed by the school and the theoretical references of Geography and Education, we created teaching proposals, some of them coming out of interaction with the children during the classes. The data collected during the field research that happened during the school year of 2016 were registered in a research diary composed of children comments, photographs, works images, parts of students activities and registers of teacher’s observations during the classes. In this research’s narrative, the material was compiled in experiences, composing the units of analysis that were related to the theoretical assumptions of education, the teaching and learning process, childhood and the geographical science. The study reaffirmed the importance of reflection on practice and the teacher’s role in search of interaction that makes the difference with the students. The fifth grade, group “B” at CEAT, interacting and learning with the Geography teaching proposals, taught me, reaffirming epistemological conceptions. The research reaffirmed the importance of planning meaningful activities, based on coherent objectives, stimulating the use of different kinds of languages and different resources. The classes can be moments of happiness, in which the affection supports the contents and learning moments, in which the dialogue is essential in building a collective environment. Overcoming the spatial limits of the classroom and the school through experiences as field trips and visits, is an unique opportunity for “geographizing” yourself, the Other, differences, life. Children teach me how to look more, listen more, feel more and (re) create myself in teaching.
