Impulzy k prožívání služebného kněžství v životě a díle Jana Evangelisty Urbana. / Impulses for the Ministerial Priesthood in the Life and Work of Jan Evangelista Urban.

The thesis deals with the life and work of the Prague Franciscan priest Jan Evangelista Urban. Within his writings it looks for the impulses that could help contemporary priests to live their own priesthood authentically. The first chapter introduces Urban's personality, his selected contemporaries and the historical context. The second chapter looks for key topics in relation to priestly life in Urban's speeches and other extant sources. The third chapter is focused on the way how to live the priestly life in everyday conditions; it also presents Urban's idea of a real and authentic disciple of God. The second and the third chapter contain a personal reflection and synthesis that tries to catch the principal message of Urban's thought.

To this end, we analyse a letter by Torricelli to Michelangelo Ricci (1619-1682) dated the 11th of June of 1644, which reports the experiment. The analysis revealed that, in order to understand Torricelli s interpretation of the experiment, we must take into account the intellectual context of that time. At first sight the experiment seems only to point to the evidence that vacuum can be generated in nature, since the phenomenon can be attributed to the weight of air. However, it reveals other aspects that were very important to the origins of modern science / Esta dissertação tem por finalidade abordar alguns argumentos apresentados por Evangelista Torricelli (1608-1647) a favor do peso do ar como causa para explicar os efeitos observados em seu experimento barométrico. Para tanto, analisamos uma carta encaminhada por Torricelli a Michelangelo Riccci (1619-1682) em 11 de junho de 1644 em que o experimento é relatado. A análise nos revelou que para compreender a interpretação dada por Torricelli ao experimento é preciso considerar o contexto intelectual daquela época. O experimento que, à primeira vista parece apenas apontar para a evidência de que era possível produzir vácuo na natureza, visto que o fenômeno poderia ser atribuído ao peso do ar, revela outros aspectos que foram importantes na origem da ciência moderna

Língua portuguesa: incluir e participar para exercer a cidadania

Este estudo foi realizado na Escola Agrotécnica Federal de São João Evangelista – Minas Gerais (EAFSJE – MG) com vinte e seis alunos do 3º ano do Ensino Médio profissionalizante dos Cursos Técnicos em Agropecuária e Alimentação no ano letivo de 2007, com a colaboração e a participação de três professores. Como professora de Língua Portuguesa, atuando há 15 anos no exercício da docência, temos nos preocupado com o ensino-aprendizagem dessa disciplina, em especial o que ocorre nessa escola. Na prática cotidiana do ensino, temos convivido com a contradição que se estabelece entre a escola real e a escola desejada e o ensino-aprendizagem que prioriza o dialeto-padrão, mas não proporciona uma aprendizagem significativa, na qual o aluno possa se preparar para uma transformação, ou seja, que possibilite o acesso à escrita e aos discursos que se organizam a partir dela. O caminho metodológico utilizado fundamentou-se na pesquisa qualitativa descritiva, o estudo de caso. Os instrumentos de pesquisa utilizados foram: questionário, Plano de Ensino, produções textuais em dois momentos distintos, no Processo Seletivo/2005 e em 2008 no 3º ano. O estudo ressalta que o ensino de Língua Portuguesa deve ser refletido para que atenda ao propósito do letramento, em que o aluno possa ter uma situação social e cultural diferente da sua ao ingressar na escola. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT: This study was carried out in the Federal Agrotechnical School of São João Evangelista - Minas Gerais (EAFSJE - MG) with twenty-six students from the third year of vocational high school in the Agricultural and Feeding technical courses in the year of 2007, with the cooperation and participation of three teachers. As a Portuguese Language teacher, for 15 years in teaching pursuit, we have been worried about the teaching/learning which involves this discipline, in particular the one that happens in the mentioned school. In the daily practice of teaching, we have lived with the contradiction established between the real school and the desired one with the teaching-learning that prioritizes the standard dialect, however it does not provide a meaningful learning in which students can get prepared for a change, in other words, allowing access to the writing and to the speeches that are organized from it. The methodological path used was based on a descriptive and qualitative research; the case study. The search tools used were: questionnaire, Education Plan, writing production at two distinct times; in the third year of the Selective Process/2005 and 2008. The study emphasizes that teaching of Portuguese Language should be reflected to meet the purpose of literacy, in which the student may have a different social and cultural situation of his/hers at the school enrollment.

The diploma thesis "Communication of Science in the 19th Century with Regard to the Work of Jan Evangelista Purkyně" maps the development of communication of science during the Czech National Revival and proves the enormous role of science in the development of society, language, culture and politics. The work pays special attention to one of the greatest revivalists of this time, Jan Evangelist Purkyně, who had a huge influence on the formation of today's scientific society. The first part presents the theoretical basis of science communication, which serves as evidence of its influence on emancipation processes in the Czech lands in the 19th century. That means the overall context, then the biography and contribution of Jan Evangelista Purkyně, the development of Czech science, which is important for understanding this area, and finally the first Czech scientific journals, whose founder, or at least a partial initiator of their establishment, was Purkyně. The second part of the work is empirical and analyzes the editorials of the first period of publishing the scientific journal Živa in the years 1853-1867, ie during the leadership of Purkyně and Krejčí. With a qualitative content analysis, a political subtext and a challenging publishing activity in these years is illustrated there.
