觀光工廠文創化指標建構 / The Construction of Cultural Creativity-oriented Indicators for Tourism Factories胡馨文, Hu, Hsin Wen Unknown Date (has links)

Droplet microfluidics for single cell and nucleic acid analysisPeriyannan Rajeswari, Prem Kumar January 2016 (has links)
Droplet microfluidics is an emerging technology for analysis of single cells and biomolecules at high throughput. The controlled encapsulation of particles along with the surrounding microenvironment in discrete droplets, which acts as miniaturized reaction vessels, allows millions of particles to be screened in parallel. By utilizing the unit operations developed to generate, manipulate and analyze droplets, this technology platform has been used to miniaturize a wide range of complex biological assays including, but not limited to, directed evolution, rare cell detection, single cell transcriptomics, rare mutation detection and drug screening. The aim of this thesis is to develop droplet microfluidics based methods for analysis of single cells and nucleic acids. In Paper I, a method for time-series analysis of mammalian cells, using automated fluorescence microscopy and image analysis technique is presented. The cell-containing droplets were trapped on-chip and imaged continuously to assess the viability of hundreds of isolated individual cells over time. This method can be used for studying the dynamic behavior of cells. In Paper II, the influence of droplet size on cell division and viability of mammalian cell factories during cultivation in droplets is presented. The ability to achieve continuous cell division in droplets will enable development of mammalian cell factory screening assays in droplets. In Paper III, a workflow for detecting the outcome of droplet PCR assay using fluorescently color-coded beads is presented. This workflow was used to detect the presence of DNA biomarkers associated with poultry pathogens in a sample. The use of color-coded detection beads will help to improve the scalability of the detection panel, to detect multiple targets in a sample. In Paper IV, a novel unit operation for label-free enrichment of particles in droplets using acoustophoresis is presented. This technique will be useful for developing droplet-based assays that require label-free enrichment of cells/particles and removal of droplet content. In general, droplet microfluidics has proven to be a versatile tool for biological analysis. In the years to come, droplet microfluidics could potentially be used to improve clinical diagnostics and bio-based production processes. / <p>QC 20160926</p>

The IKEA Industry way of ergonomic risk assessment : Development of a global standard for ergonomic risk assessmentSroka, Angelica January 2019 (has links)
In 2018 IKEA Industry, the largest producer of wood-based furniture for IKEA customers presented their sustainability strategy for Financial Year 2025. In Health & Safety, they want to minimize ergonomic risks at their factories. To be able to understand what risks the factories contain, the first step is a common ergonomic risk assessment methodology. Because of a lack of knowledge in ergonomics at IKEA Industry, the responsibility was laid on this master thesis project. This project has with the help of interviews, surveys and observations found what needs the factories have in ergonomic risk assessment. A literature review also found things that the factories should have but haven´t asked for. Using benchmarking, several common methods used on the market has been summarized and analyzed by the requirements. Three methods, KIM, RAMP and HARM were chosen to be tested by the factories. In a user test, it was clear that KIM was easiest to use. HARM was eliminated because of the lack of evaluating lifting and pushing movements. To choose between KIM and RAMP they were evaluated in terms of the requirements. The results showed that KIM was the best method for IKEA Industry factories. At some places RAMP had good assessment methods. In order to not ignore these, they have been implemented into KIM to make it suit the factories even better. The result ended up in a document called Global standard of ergonomic risk assessment. The method is divided into three different methods depending on if you have lifting/ carrying work, pushing work or repetitive work. The results are then summarized in a chart that shows what needs to be investigated. This project has also with the help of the literature and the analysis of the factory, decided which roles that will participate in the assessment. The suggestions are manager, ergonomist and a production co-worker. With the help of this method, the factories will be able to understand what ergonomic risks they have. They will only need to evaluate the work tasks with the help of this method and will then be presented all high, medium or low ergonomic risks in the factories to minimize these before FY2025.

Previous issue date: 2011-12-13 / The emergence of new social movements is marking the political scenery in the last decades. The importance of these movements is given to the perspective in which are presented new ways of political participation, with new actors involved in the social dynamics, asking for traditional political theories and distribution of the power in the capitalist society. In order to understand the possible quotidian articulations of these new social movements, it was chosen a research field which presents the coexistence of two distinct movements. The studied context consists of the Flask?, a factory that since eight years went bankruptcy, and it was occupied by workers, and also the Popular and Worker's Village, an urban occupation, constituted by a group of houses that were built in the vicinity of this factory. The factory's occupation proposal, as an alternative production way, is supported through the organization of a social movement for employment, the Occupied Factory Movement. At the Popular and Worker's Village, the discussion about the occupation's proposal of urban area and access to suitable houses may be featured as a social movement which emerges from the organization of this community and articulation with the Flask?'s workers. With this study, it was intended to know the quotidian life of the Popular and Worker's Village and the main actions of that community as a social movement for houses, aiming to understand the established relation with the movement of the Flask?'s workers and to identify approaches and distances between them. The survey was held in accordance with ethnographic focus base. So, participating observations and records were carried out in field diary about the situation of quotidian life in the studied context, as well the observation of other interactions with social movements, such as cultural activities, political formation and public acts. Pictures were also utilized and they helped the contextualization of surveyed field. The survey results indicate that surveyed movements have certain independence in relation to the internal decision processes, however they constitute basically an unit when external questions are dealt, such as negotiations with the government and articulation with other social movements. Therefore it was found that the emergence of a new base social movement was strengthened by means of the articulation with another more comprehensive movement, becoming part of a wider movement network. In this articulation process, the movements get legitimacy in the public sphere and also among their participants, creating references for the quotidian action and mobilization However, conflicts permeate this process because not always the interests converge in order to define priority issues, situations which should be opposed and strategies to be utilized.

Previous issue date: 2012-05-18 / This is a social psychology thesis, in the work and organizational psychology area, which has as a main focus to develop a people management system focusing the promotion of health of workers in a recovered factory, based on the critical role of a psychologist inserted in it. For that I have used as a theoretical reference the social psychology of work and organizations and the psychology of sociohistorical perspective and as a methodological reference I have used the proposal of the theme field. The research was done in a recovered factory in Salto, state of São Paulo, Brazil, and had as the main result the implementation of a people management system which inverts the traditional polarity of work organization, leaving the most traditional that focus the capital behind to have the worker as the main focus in the work process. The program focusing the promotion of health implemented at Metalcoop, was based on five main axis. a) putting work to serve the worker, as we search that the management policies have the worker as the focus; b) promoting the human development through work, as we seek for developing actions from the worker´s point of view and not the organization; c) working policies of identity and identity policies searching projects capable of creating a new character, the partner-worker at the same time that we were promoting the identity personal projects within the organization; d) promoting the worker participation in the organization s decision-making process, aiming to widen the democratic participation in the organization at the same time as we were searching for the development of its critical vision in order to better use the already existing democratic spaces; e) occupational health, managing the work process to avoid those as elements to cause illness / Esta é uma tese de psicologia social, dentro do campo da psicologia organizacional e do trabalho, que teve como foco principal desenvolver um sistema de gestão de pessoas com foco em promoção de saúde do trabalhador em uma fábrica recuperada, a partir de uma atuação crítica do psicólogo inserido nas organizações.

Previous issue date: 2014-11-17 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This thesis focuses on the work category in the Brazilian production and
social reproduction. This category was examined through the prism of Bolivian
immigrants, workers and residents in the sewing factories in the city of São
Paulo, in order to understand the modern slave labor. The research, both
theoretical and empirical, consists on the study of references about the Brazilian
historical process, highlighting the debate over the slave and free labor, the
implementation of neoliberal ideology, the flexibility of labor, the expansion of
informal work, the repetition on forms of organization and labor relations and the
resulting deregulation of rights, beyond the perpetuation of slave labor. The
productive restructuring in the textile garment sector enables the Bolivian
legal and illegal immigration, encouraged by the demand for labor in the sewing
garages, forming the modern slave labor. The research relies on interviews with
four Bolivians who work in sewing shops in the city of São Paulo, one of whom,
owner of the garage. The display of the results of field research supports all
bibliographic review, focusing on the concrete social process. São Paulo
registered 17.960 Bolivians living in the city in 2013. This number represents an
increase of 173 % since 2000 and puts the Bolivian immigrant colony in second
position in the city, whose leadership is Portuguese. Many Bolivians who live
and work in sewing garages in the central districts of São Paulo city are part of
the 21 million slave laborers in 2013 around the world. This manpower army
generated a profit to the private economy about 330 billion reais according to
the ILO, which also revealed this amount as twice the value generated by the
international drug dealing. Slavery abolished in Brazil in 1888 with the Golden
Law reveals itself under a new guise, positioning the work category at the
moderno.
reestruturação produtiva do setor-têxtil-vestuário viabiliza a imigração boliviana
costuras, compondo o trabalho escravo moderno.
debate

A new method for calculating the economic benefits of varying degrees of power factor correction for industrial plant loadsIshaque, Mohammed 01 January 1992 (has links)
A comparative study of the economic benefits that can be obtained from different degrees of power factor correction for medium and small scale industrial installations is shown. A new approach for precise calculation of kws and kvars required at different power factors is presented. These calculated values are used to find the return on investments for the capacitors needed for power factor correction. The developed method is easy to use, cost effective, accurate and will help electrical engineers with minimum knowledge of power systems to precisely determine the savings available by improving the power factor of an industrial load.

Art factories & cre8ery: a case study of cultural producers in Winnipeg's Exchange DistrictLee, Justin Ian 06 January 2009 (has links)
The creative class, creative economy and creative cities are all heralds of current North American planning directions. My research seeks to understand how the Art Factory, a multi-tenant and multi-purpose artist space, contributes to the lives of artists and the general creative potential of a city. This research is a case study of cre8ery, an art factory located in Winnipeg’s Exchange District, the gentrifying cultural quarter of the city. I interviewed ten artists, exploring how cre8ery affected their social, professional and economic lives. cre8ery serves as a gateway into the art world for emerging artists by providing stability and opportunities to them. In general, Art Factories are centres of cultural entrepreneurship, an activity essential to the health of artists and the city. I also explore the shift of the artist populations in Winnipeg due to gentrification, offering several policy initiatives that would either stem or support this shift. / February 2009

Feature-based Software Asset Modeling With Domain Specific KitsAltintas, Nesip Ilker 01 August 2007 (has links) (PDF)
This study proposes an industrialization model, Software Factory Automation, for establishing software product lines. Major contributions of this thesis are the conceptualization of Domain Specific Kits (DSKs) and a domain design model for software product lines based on DSKs. The concept of DSK has been inspired by the way other industries have been successfully realizing factory automation for decades. DSKs, as fundamental building blocks, have been deeply elaborated with their characteristic properties and with several examples.
The constructed domain design model has two major activities: first, building the product line reference architecture using DSK abstraction / and second, constructing reusable asset model again based on DSK concept. Both activities depend on outputs of feature-oriented analysis of product line domain. The outcome of these coupled modeling activities is the reference architecture and asset model of the product line.
The approach has been validated by constructing software product lines for two product families. The reusability of DSKs and software assets has also been discussed with examples. Finally, the constructed model has been evaluated in terms of quality improvements, and it has been compared with other software product line engineering approaches.
