Esta dissertação versa sobre o carnaval das escolas de samba, em seu período de formação, na década de 1930. Apresentando a Vizinha Faladeira procura-se identificar suas transgressões no contexto da institucionalização do chamado tradicional carnaval das escolas de samba da cidade. Busca-se compreender os motivos que levaram a Vizinha Faladeira a afastar-se das disputas carnavalescas e terminar suas atividades como escola de samba identificando assim as diversas tensões que circundavam o carnaval das escolas de samba. Verificando os desfiles da Vizinha Faladeira identificam-se formas estéticas diversas que revelam os diálogos tensionados entre os diversos grupos da sociedade e o desejo de fazer um carnaval cada vez mais popular. Este trabalho busca lançar um novo olhar sobre a festa carnavalesca entendendo a cultura popular como o local de disputas de significados simbólicos, rompendo-se com as visões folclóricas e antropológicas, privilegiando as disputas entre os grupos e as representações nas formas artísticas das escolas de samba / This dissertation deals with the Carnival samba school in its formative period in the 1930s. Introducing the Neighbor Faladeira seeks to identify their transgressions in the context of the institutionalization of so-called "traditional carnival samba schools" of the city. We seek to understand the reasons that led to Neighbor Faladeira to move away from the dispute and end their carnival samba school activities as well identifying the various tensions surrounding the Carnival samba school. Checking the Neighbor Faladeira parades to identify various aesthetic forms that reveal the taut dialogue between different groups in society and the desire to make a carnival increasingly popular. This paper seeks to launch a new look at the carnival party understanding the popular culture as the site of symbolic meanings disputes, breaking with the visions and anthropological folklore, focusing on the disputes between groups and representations in art forms of the samba schools
