O sentido da amizade em Ferenczi: uma contribuição à clínica psiquiátrica / The meaning of friendship in Ferenczi: a contribution to the psychoanalytic practiceLuiz Ricardo Prado de Oliveira 25 February 2005 (has links)
This thesis looks into the possible meaning ascribed by Ferenczi to friendship. Considerations are made starting from an exam of Ferenczis personal relationships with his peers, and in his work. The importance of a reflection on friendship, especially in the present-day analytic field, comes from a concern with the challenges created in the scope of the contemporaneous psychoanalytic practice. The author regards the liberalism prevailing in contemporaneous culture as contributing to the shaping of subjectivities that are fairly resistant to the acceptance of conditions by means of which psychoanalytic therapy usually develops, namely, through verbal communication. On the other hand, decrease in sense of responsibility and in critical thought nowadays, implicit in choices and decision-making, appears as an
adverse circumstance to the analytical situation. One of the aspects of resistance arises from ego formation which we can characterize as both, plastic and rigid, the functioning of which works according to circumstances, since individuals are not, truly, as free as one is led to
expect in the present times. Ferenczi, dissenting partially from Freud, gives prominence to the importance of affection in interpersonal relationships, notably in the therapeutic sphere, so that he emphasizes the importance of regression and countertransference in the analytical
process, in order to achieve a point of equilibrium on the patients psychic economy. Therefore, starting from the importance given to the implications of friendship in Ferenczis technical experiments and in the considerations he made, this thesis places it as an important
variant in conducting analytical treatment. As a support to this theme, the author resorts to Philosophy, to get a broader of the view the meanings historically attributed to friendship. The main bibliographical support for this conclusion is a trilogy published by Franscisco Ortega, in which is explored this theme, from Antiquity to contemporaneity. Other philosophers, from whom this author has gathered insights, are Derrida and Foucault. As a conclusion, it is advisable that the analyst takes into consideration the cultural background and ethical values influencing the patients process of subjectivation, and refrains from
remaining oblivious to the suffering of the patient; in fact, the analyst should not abstain from showing himself as a friend of the patient, to a certain degree. With this, it is understood that analyst must involve himself more and more in the analytical process, also coming forward as a friend, provided it would be therapeutic.

Friendship based on race or race based on friendship? : the co-evolution of friendships, negative ties and ethnic perceptions in Hungarian school classesBoda, Zsófia January 2015 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the dynamic interplay between race and social ties. Even though in sociological studies, race is usually treated as a cause of social segregation, we argue that this is a two-way process. Our approach distinguishes between racial self-identifications and racial perceptions. In the first part of the thesis, we focus on the joint effects of these aspects on the prevalence and emergence of social ties in secondary school communities. The second part investigates social effects on racial perceptions. For the analyses, we take a social networks approach, estimating exponential random graph and stochastic actor-oriented models. First, we take a look at the state of racial segregation in friendships and negative ties within communities, and we investigate the dynamic processes that have led to the described state. We also take endogenous network mechanisms into account. We provide evidence that given an initial state of segregation, reciprocity and clustering can maintain the relative infrequency of cross-race friendships in the group, even without (additional) same-race preference. Further, we find that negative ties describe interracial segregation better than friendships: majority students tend to dislike their minority peers, but no such tendencies were found for friendships. Second, we find that minority students tend to overperceive their friends' similarity to themselves in terms of race. Moreover, there is evidence for social influence: classmates tend to accept each other's, especially their friends', opinions about their peer's race. Altogether, both empirical parts of the thesis suggest a hierarchical relationship between the majority and the minority groups: besides majority students' tendency to exclude their minority peers, those who try befriending majorities - but get rejected by them - are more likely to be perceived as minorities. There are also indications of some minority students showing outgroup preference, while others seem to compete against the majority group. This can contribute to the observed emergence of enmity between minority students.

L'Interaction épistolaire au XVIIIe siècle. Etude réalisée à partir de trois dialogues épistolaires : Etude réalisée à partir de trois dialogues épistolaires : Voltaire & Mme du Deffand, Jean-Jacques Rousseau & Malesherbes, Benjamin Constant & Isabelle de Charrière. Théorie et pratique de l'épistolaire au XVIIIe siècle / Interaction in the eighteenth century epistolary : Study carried out from three epistolary dialogues : Voltaire & Mme du Deffand, Jean-Jacques Rousseau & Malesherbes, Benjamin Constant & Isabelle de Charrière. Theory and practice of the eighteenth century epistolaryKhouzeimi, Sami 08 April 2013 (has links)
Our work has the aim to describe the process of interaction in the eighteenth century epistolary through the study of three examples of epistolary dialogues, namely: Voltaire ---- Madame du Deffand, Rousseau and Malesherbes ---- finally Benjamin Constant ---- Isabelle de Charrière. We understand the interaction epistolary the back-and-forth between the two parties, their mutual influence, their trade roles. The main question thatarises here is: what is the interest for the two parties, this epistolary exchange in the long term? For what purpose is the two letter writers they write to each other? How epistolary dialogue can it change the image of the other, the structure and the moral? The eighteenth century saw a proliferation epistolary actually thanks to the development of philosophicalthought and the Enlightenment. It tasted like the epistolary exchange that affects all areas of life, especially among friends. So many businesses are built correspondence, some of which develop into networks. For Voltaire and Madame Du Deffand their epistolary follows a binary rhythm, usually smooth, but sometimes"syncopated" as a philosophical dialogue dazzling until the disappearance of Voltaire. In this dialogue, w ediscover the days many ideas and themes that inform us about a time excellently. Correspondence of Rousseau and Malesherbes us about minute details related to the problems of publication and censorshipworks, not to mention the personal side of their friendship, but is rather based on a kind of desire loyalty and commitment vision in the exchange of secrets, essential characteristics denominations which Rousseau has accustomed us. As Benjamin Constant and Isabelle de Charrière, their dialogue, despite the age difference between partners, seems very interesting content. If Constant likes to describe Isabelle de Charrière the circumstances of his life in a subsidiary, an interest, a passion sustained emerges in this correspondence.

Potência mental no ar... : exercícios de esquizo-radiofonia / Potência mental on air schizo-radio exercisesStreppel, Fernanda Fontana January 2011 (has links)
The research starts from the radio production experience of a group composed by those we call “diagnosed”, people diagnosed with psychiatric disorders, and academics in psychology and communication, diagnosed or not, called Radio Collective Potência Mental. Comprising two blocks, the dissertation, managed by the Collective, begins leaning over the chaos that inhabits it; the discursive struggle carried out by academics and diagnosed in an attempt to produce difference; and the madness-becoming that emerges as an effect of this situation in the same Collective that makes itself the subject, the object and the research method and allows to dissolve the crazy, the diagnosed and the academic identities. Passing through the setting of Colifata Radios where Potência Mental arises as a singularity, the dissertation questions "what can a Radio do?", examining, especially from Deleuze and Foucault, the conditions of its emergence as a discursive event. In the second block, the research focuses on examining the ways the Collective updates the discursive struggle in a coexistence that is submitted to the intervention of each other. Thus, by mutual affectation, the Collective interferes with the academy to which it relates as university extension, under the expression of friendship ethics, establishing a whole new list of relations that affect the researcher personally. As a music window on a radio program, the two blocks are mediated by the opinions of qualification banking, measuring the range that unites them.

How can we think on the ways that, in a digital connectivity era, friendship ties are established? How can we advance thoughts on the value of friendship within Education, what it means as social and political space, and as ethics and responsibility for the other? In order to attend to possible arrangements of 21st century youth friendship ties, many questions arise from this investigation, which begins by questioning the family metaphor as a model for friendship relations. Based on those assumptions, the objective of this research is to understand how certain images and discourses engender ways of learning about friendship, during a crucial phase of youth: the last years of Middle School. Twelve meetings were held with 122 seventh and eighth grade public school students in Porto Alegre metropolitan region (Rio Grande do Sul State). Each student answered a questionnaire about his or her daily life; about time dedicated to quotidian activities as well as friendship relations. Students also choose significant images of friendship ties and debated, in small groups, about those images. Visual elicitation (COLLIER; COLLIER (1996); PROSSER; SCHWARTZ (1998) was used to engage participants with images. Students had the opportunity to discuss their ideas about definitions, features, and the importance of friendship relations. To analyze these materials, the present research takes as its theoretical basis Foucault's genealogy and hermeneutics, which suggests different pictures of friendship, since Antiquity until current times. Authors such Zygmunt Bauman, Nestor Canclini, Carmen Leccardi and Caries Feixa also informed the theoretical framework by offering understandings about the links between youth, temporality and virtual relationships in contemporaneity. The Internet, through its social networking sites, proved to be of paramount importance to these youngsters, bringing to our study data to investigate how youth configures "virtual" friendship relations. In terms of research findings, we highlight the strength of familiar discourse as well as how gender dynamics contribute to learning about differences in youth friendship ties. This dissertation shows the importance of openness to otherness and to transformation possibilities produced by friendship relations. This dissertation also illustrates the role schools can play in developing youth openness, ethics and aesthetics.
