La Carta sobre los gigantes patagones, publicada por primera vez en 1767, con el título de “Lettre au docteur Maty, sécretaire de la Société Royale de Londres, sur les géants patagons”, fue escrita por el abate francés Francois-Gabriel Coyer a su amigo personal, el médico inglés Mathew Maty, miembro de la Royal Society. Francois Gabriel-Coyer (1707-1789) también perteneció a la Royal Society, sin embargo tiene un recorrido intelectual distinto al de Maty: estudió humanidades y filosofía, y fue jesuita hasta que abandonó la orden en 1736, la que sería suprimida en 1773, bajo el mandato del papa Clemente XIV. La Carta es uno de las tantas obras de la producción de Coyer, registrándose además La nobleza comerciante (1756) y Chinki: la historia de la Cochinchinesa, útil y aplicable a otros países (1768), que contienen importantes reflexiones en torno a temas económicos. Su texto sobre los patagones, ha sido vinculado por la crítica con el género utópico. Sin embargo este nexo no ha sido suficientemente explicitado, suponiéndose como una constatación obvia. El problema de estudio que surge entonces es la problematización de dicha tesis, a partir de la cual se desprenden tres objetivos fundamentales: el primero, explicitar y definir el concepto de utopía en sus rasgos generales. El segundo, determinar los rasgos esenciales del género en el marco de la modernidad ilustrada. Y, finalmente, determinar el vínculo efectivo entre la Carta y la utopía, concebida como género político-ficcional que manifiesta una tipo de viajero particular: el viajero “de gabinete”.

The work of physician-turned-writer Walker Percy marks an important development in the history of Southern literature. The author's first novel, The Moviegoer, moves beyond previous consideration of what it meant to be a native of the region by capturing the mindset of modernity rooted in the philosophical movement of existentialism. Embracing the work of S²ren Kierkegaard allows Percy to articulate how his protagonist, Binx Bolling, moves towards a sense of purpose in life. Previously adrift due to the contending forces present in the modern mind, the author indicates how an existentially active individual can achieve a sense of direction through the work of not only Kierkegaard, but also Gabriel Marcel. There are certain phenomena present in the text that allow one to temporarily achieve some sense of solace within an inscrutably secularized existence. To develop our investigation, we examined, based in the Discourse Analysis of the French, precisely Dominique Manigueneau postulates (2005;2008), the link between the linguistic, the discursive and social, seeking in enunciation the way to build the set design and to what measure the speaker s ethos shows the political, social, ideological and cultural Brazilian aspects, in a discursive and interdiscursive dimension, exhibited in the protest discourse. In order to achieve the intended goal, we chose like model two lyrics written by Gabriel, o Pensador, considering that the composer produces verbal critical texts and that they contemplate contemporary Brazilian social practices. The discourses study of these song lyrics shows the construction of the enunciator s ethos o, taking into account the social link associated with the speech made about the axis of the political history of Brazil from the 90's, considering the behavior of the order representatives in Brazilian public institutions. Through certain situations illustrated in the lyric discourses, we observed that the speaker s ethos articulates towards the co- enunciator s ethical world and both are configured as participants guarantor in the social ethos of the values citizens, whose principles are based on the posture of honest men who believe in justice, in the ethical sense and human and they are indignant by attitudes of misgovernment in Brazilian public institutions / Este dissertação tem como tema o estudo das representações linguístico-sociais, que propiciam a construção da cenografia e a legitimação do ethos discursivo em letras de músicas produzidas por Gabriel, o Pensador. Para o desenvolvimento de nossa investigação, examinamos, à luz da Análise do Discurso de linha francesa, precisamente nos postulados de Dominique Maingueneau (2005; 2008), a articulação entre o linguístico, o discursivo e o social, buscando, na enunciação, o modo como se constrói a cenografia e em que medida o ethos do enunciador apresenta os aspectos políticos, sociais, ideológicos e culturais do homem brasileiro, numa dimensão discursiva e interdiscursiva, explicitado no discurso de protesto. A fim de atingirmos o objetivo pretendido, escolhemos como amostra duas letras escritas por Gabriel, o Pensador, considerando que o compositor produz textos verbais críticos de análises das práticas sociais contemporâneas brasileiras. O estudo dos discursos de letras de músicas mostra a construção do ethos do enunciador, levando-se em consideração a ancoragem social associada ao discurso constituído no eixo da história política do Brasil, a partir da década de 90, considerando o comportamento dos representantes da ordem nas instituições públicas brasileiras. Por meio das situações determinadas no fio discursivo das letras, pudemos observar que o ethos do enunciador articula-se com o mundo ético do co-enunciador e ambos configuram-se como fiadores partícipes do ethos social dos valores cidadãos, cujos princípios se fundamentam na postura de homens honestos que acreditam na justiça, no sentido ético e humano e que se vêem indignados com tantas atitudes de desgoverno nas instituições públicas brasileiras

These authors will allow us to think the contemporary processes of subjectivity, in which appears a specific dynamic between imitation and invention on individual life and that, in turn, go hand in hand with neoliberal capitalism dynamics and its incessant deterritorializations. Today, contemporary individuals quickly mobilize their imitations and inventions, their opinions replicate on a large scale and they are driven by the belief in the possibility of interfering, divert, sculpting, modeling and even reverse the direction of their own lives. Imitation and invention can be seen as tools of social construction. Furthermore, in the case of virality and contagion of ideas through social networking on the Internet or analog networks of consumption and influence, a bestial force of imitation is set up that seeks a global spread, a force whose power is extra-individual and allows us to consider subjects beyond self-contained units. To think this theme, we will establish our research in dialogue with other authors and examples from contemporary art to internet examples and, between chapters of the work, we will propose small textual shortcircuits that break the linearity of reasoning. These short-circuits can, in some cases, challenge the conventions of academic text, but they are mainly an experiment on the relationship between invention and imitation in the creation of my own voice / Neste trabalho, partimos das teorias da imitação do sociólogo francês do século XIX Gabriel Tarde, e da sua revisão, já no século XXI, pelo filósofo italiano Maurizio Lazzarato. Esses autores permitem-nos pensar os processos de subjetivação contemporâneos como processos onde se explicita uma dinâmica específica entre imitação e invenção na vida individual que, por sua vez, andam lado a lado com a dinâmica do capitalismo neoliberal e das suas desterritorializações incessantes. Hoje, os indivíduos contemporâneos mobilizam velozmente as suas imitações e invenções, replicam opiniões em larga escala, movidos pela crença na possibilidade de interferir, desviar, esculpir, modelar e até reverter o sentido das suas vidas. Imitação e invenção podem ser vistas como ferramentas de construção social. Para além disso, no caso da viralidade e do contágio de ideias por via de redes sociais na internet ou de redes analógicas de consumo e influência, instala-se uma força bestial de imitação que busca uma propagação planetária, cuja potência é extra-individual e permite pensar o sujeito para além de unidades estanques. Para pensar esta temática, situaremos a nossa pesquisa em diálogo com outros autores e exemplos, deste a arte contemporânea a exemplos retirados da internet, e entre os capítulos que compõem o trabalho, propomos pequenos curto-circuitos textuais na linearidade do raciocínio. Estes curto-circuitos poderão em alguns casos desafiar as convenções do texto académico, mas são sobretudo um experimento sobre a relação entre invenção e imitação na criação de uma voz própria

In the writings of this philosopher we seek to develop a theme which emerges and occupies a central role in his works, for instance, the Hope in the Absolute Thou as the supreme source of consistency and meaning of life. In this direction, we begin by pointing Marcel's perspective on the twentieth century and its anguish. Afterwards, some authors with whom he dialogues (Camus, Sartre and Heidegger) for whom existance has no perspective. Subsequently, we point out how Marcel presents hope as the source of the meaning of life, to conclude that this source is an Absolute Hope in the Absolute Thou / A tese focaliza um filósofo de grande relevância, Gabriel Marcel, que ficou esquecido nas pesquisas e começou a ser recuperado na segunda metade do século XX. Nos escritos deste filósofo se busca desenvolver um tema que emerge e ocupa papel central nas suas obras, o saber, a Esperança no Tu Absoluto como fonte suprema de consistência e sentido da vida. Nessa direção, começa-se apontando o olhar de Marcel sobre o século XX e suas angústias. Depois, alguns autores com o quais ele dialoga (Camus, Sartre e Heidegger) para os quais a existência não tem perspectiva. Em seguida, aponta-se como Marcel apresenta a esperança qual fonte de sentido da vida, para concluir que essa fonte é uma Esperança Absoluta no Tu Absoluto

Sua importância está no desenvolvimento e aprofundamento dos trabalhos etnomusicológicos relacionados à música indígena da região norte do Brasil. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é buscar relações entre música e sistema social no Alto Rio Negro, associando as posições sociais de homens e mulheres indígenas ao repertório musical. Através da análise do repertório Ahãdeakü, pretende-se oferecer um olhar sobre a expressão dos valores socioculturais que se manifestam na música. Para tal, sua fundamentação está calcada na Etnomusicologia, lançando mão também dos estudos da antropologia cultural e etnologia amazônica. / This research is focused on the musical repertoire Ahãdeakü also called Hãde Hãde by the Tukano East indigenous communities of the Upper Rio Negro, in particular the town of São Gabriel da Cachoeira in the extreme northwest of the Amazon. Its importance lies in the development and deepening of ethnomusicological works related to indigenous music of northern Brazil. The main objective of this work is to seek relationships between music and the social system in the Upper Rio Negro by associating the male and female social position to the musical repertoire. Through analysis of the repertoire Ahãdeakü, the intention is to offer a look at the expression of cultural and social values that are manifested in music. To do so, his reasoning is grounded in Ethnomusicology, making use also of the studies of cultural anthropology and amazon ethnology.

Uppsatsens ämne berör användningen av intermedialitet för att förmedla ett narrativ i Dante Gabriel Rossettis verk Lady Lilith och Sibylla Palmifera. I uppsatsen undersöks hur Rossetti problematiserar den samtida kvinnosynen. Med intermedialitet menas användningen av två medier i samma verk, i detta fall sonett och måleri. Syftet är att undersöka hur Dante Gabriel Rossetti problematiserade den rådande tudelade synen på kvinnan som antingen ond eller god. Den intermediala teorin som används bygger på W.T.J. Mitchells teori om relationen mellan bild och text, vad dessa medier tillför varandra samt skillnaden mellan dem. Genom analyser av både text och måleri undersöks de bägge verkens ikonologi. Dispositionen består av tre avsnitt. Det första avsnittet fungerar som en bakgrund till de övriga två avsnitten. Avsnitt två och tre består av enskilda analyser av de bägge verken med tillhörande texter.  Resultatet visar att Dante Gabriel Rossetti med dessa verk problematiserar dualiteten i den samtida kvinnosynen. Genom att använda mytologiska kvinnogestalter skapar Rossetti en mer nyanserad bild av synen på kvinnan under den viktorianska epoken. Användningen av sonett och måleri tillsammans fungerar väl i Lady Lilith då verket får en fördjupad inre mening. I dubbelverket Sibylla Palmifera relaterar dock sonett och målning inte lika bra med varandra.

<p>Den egna nyfikenheten, studierna i religionsvetenskap samt ett intresse för hembygdshistoria har fått mig att välja det ämne som denna uppsats handlar om. Viljan till att försöka levandegöra en del av traktens historia har också varit den största drivkraften i detta arbete.</p><p>Huvudämnet för uppsatsen handlar om en religiös sekt i Järvsö under 1800-talet. Sekten kallades i folkmun för ”hedbergare” men är i kyrkohistorien mer känd under namnet hedbergianer. Båda dessa namn kom av att församlingsmedlemmarna i dessa utbytargrupper inspirerades av en finsk präst vid namn Fredrik Gabriel Hedberg.</p><p>Det övergripande syftet med arbetet är att göra en historisk beskrivning av hedbergarna i Järvsö, då från rörelsens uppkomst till dess fall. Mer specifika frågeställningar som jag ska besvara i denna uppsats är följande:</p><ul><li>Vilka var orsakerna till hedbergarnas brytning med kyrka och samhälle?</li><li>På vilket sätt påverkade brytningen med kyrkan församlingsmedlemmarnas privata liv, vilka konsekvenser fick den?</li></ul>

<p>Fondsparandet har länge varit den dominerande sparformen i Sverige. Totalt ägnar sig hela 74 procent av Sveriges befolkning åt aktivt fondsparande, och andelen blir högre vid pensionssparande. Tendensen är tydlig, svenskar ägnar sig allt mindre åt att själva äga aktier och har i stället överlåtit sparandet till banker och fondförvaltare. Storleken på en aktiefond har stor betydelse för vilken strategi en förvaltare väljer. Tidigare studier har funnit att det finns skillnader mellan förvaltad fondförmögenhet, avkastning och risktagande. Studierna är dock få på den svenska marknaden.</p><p>Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka risk och avkastning i mindre och större fondförmögenheter inom Sverige. Om det föreligger en skillnad i risktagandet skall det även undersökas i fall fonder får betalt för sina risker.  </p><p>Den kvantitativa undersökningen av små respektive stora fonder har utretts utifrån ett finansteoretiskt perspektiv med empirisk data och statistisk metodik. Undersökningen har baserats på Morningstars data av Sverigefonder. Huvudmåtten som använts är Sharpes kvot, Treynors kvot och Jensens alfa. Aktiv risk har använts som referens till huvudmåtten. Data har sammanställts och beräknats i två statistiska datorprogram. Resultatet har därefter analyserats utifrån gällande frågeställningar och matas ut i form av diagram och tabeller. De induktiva slutsatserna har härletts från diskussion av resultatet och analysen.</p><p>En klar majoritet av måtten visade att små fonder är att föredra. Alla mått visade att både små och stora fonder utmärkte sig positivt över mätperioden, men att de flesta av storbankernas fonder presterade i paritet med index eller något bättre. Förvaltare som tog en hög aktiv risk blev ofta belönade genom en överavkastning mot index.  </p><p>Slutsatserna är att Sverigefonder skiljer sig mellan mindre och större förmögenheter, men att den aktiva förvaltningsrisken är påtaglig i respektive fondstorlek. Det är med andra ord skickligheten hos förvaltaren som avgör hur avkastningen kommer att se ut. Valet av Sverigefonder bör stå mellan olika små fonder med hög aktiv risk som förvaltas av duktiga förvaltare.</p>
