Ekonomická globalizace a daňové systémy / Economic Globalization and Tax Systems

Toman, Václav January 2014 (has links)
iv Abstract In this thesis on the effect of globalization on corporate income tax policies, we try to provide evidence that given the globalization-induced increased tax competition, countries are forced to lower their level of corporate income tax burden down to unsustainable levels or that they at least converge in their policies and levels of tax burden in order to attract international corporations through transparency. We find that no evidence to support such hypotheses is present in the OECD panel data of the last four decades with descriptive analysis, the general method of moments and the fixed effects estimation and we even find local evidence of an increase in the corporate income tax burden. Moreover, the OECD countries do not exhibit stronger convergence in their corporate income tax policies. Apart from the analysis of the general development of the corporate income tax burden, we find evidence that the level of tax burden is affected by the ratio of exports in the economy and correlated with the government indebtedness, outward FDI and the occurrence of the recent financial crisis. Rozvoj Nollywoodu na pozadí globalizačních procesů v mediálním světě / The growth of Nollywood against the backdrop of globalization processes in the media world

Černá, Jana January 2015 (has links)
The Nigerian entertainment industry called Nollywood has for several years been one of the top audiovisual producers worldwide in regards to the volume of media produced. However, its market is to a large extent isolated from the dominant media flows, which has inspired interest for a detailed study of its role in the global cultural scene. The thesis is a theoretical treatise about the history and the present situation of Nollywood, which the author discusses in the context of the two seemingly oppositional paradigms of the globalization discourse: cultural imperialism and cultural globalization. To gather the most up-to-date and the most complex information, the thesis uses theoretical methods, such as the analysis, synthesis and comparison of the articles found in science journals and literature. The text is comprised of three main parts. After a brief introduction into the current situation in Nigeria and the historical development of its audiovisual media, the second chapter discusses the birth of Nollywood for the first time in the Czech academia, as well as its current production and distribution principles. In this part of the thesis, the focus is given to the description of the extent of Nollywood's influence in the world, including the Czech Republic, talking both about the audience size...

Přenos televizních formátů do českého prostředí od vzniku duálního systému v České republice / Television formats transmission into czech environment since the creation of the dual system in Czech republic

Kantorová, Katarzyna January 2014 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Television formats transmission into Czech environment since the creation of the dual system in the Czech Republic" focuses on television formats which have been adapted in the Czech television industry since 1994. TV formats, the primary analytical object of this thesis, belong among the strongest aspects of media globalization. Since specific television formats spread the same structure, idea and concept, they increasingly influence the practice in television markets and the process of globalization all over the world. With this continuity, the paper describes the theory of globalization, focusing on cultural and media imperialism. Further, newer theories of globalization and their subsequent transformation are described. Based on this theoretical basis, the thesis describes, which TV formats have been adapted since 1994 in the Czech Republic. Our analysis is based on in-depth interviews with Czech television professionals who have experiences with the purchasing and subsequent adaptation of television formats. The thesis provides the overview of all adapted TV formats in the Czech Republic, and describes reasons, difficulties and the overall process of adapting licensed television formats. Relation between Globalisation and the Real Convergence: Does convergence of globalisation influence convergence of real GDP per capita? / Vztah mezi globalizací a reálnou konvergencí: ovplyvňuje konvergence v globalizaci konvergenci reálného HDP na hlavu?

Rybanová, Soňa January 2011 (has links)
This dissertation poses the question of whether there is a relationship between the speed of convergence of globalisation and the speed of convergence of GDP per capita. Firstly, the concepts of globalisation and real convergence and their relationship are thoroughly explained from both the theoretical and empirical point of view. And secondly, the answer to the question comes in the form of beta and sigma convergence analysis of this relationship. Thirdly, the analysis splits the countries into two groups (developed and developing countries) and finds interesting but ambiguous results in their comparison. Finally, in order to correctly interpret the results of absolute and conditional beta and sigma convergence, their theoretical and empirical overview is discussed in depth. The dissertation concludes by providing some answers to the initial question for every particular analysis. Namely, it shows that this relationship is indeed very ambiguous.

Nové výzkumné trendy v geografii dopravy / New research methods in transport geography

NEJEDLÁ, Eva January 2015 (has links)
The concept of the study of transport geography is not uniform. The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate and characterize development of research topics, main paradigms, concepts and research methods of transport geography since its establishment as an independent discipline, furthermore, to define new research methods. In ´90s the geography turns to mobility, to the one of the main concept of transport geography. Mobility has always been at the centre of an interest of transport geography, however, its conception and the approach to mobility has been changed throughout the time, as well as conception of accessibility. Research topics of transport geography have been significantly changed in last decades. Geographical research shifts from one-sided focus on the transport and transport system to the more various and more specific relationship where a man and his perception of space and movement plays the main part.
