Abstract The Giger and Davidhizar Transcultural Assessment Model. Because of the globalization we live in the world where {\clqq}the borders are getting closer`` which also means to live our lives in more multicultural society. That is why a nurse must react to modern nursing care and must be well prepared to cope with specific problems of various communities in their health and illnesses. In my diploma work we deal with transcultural evaluation of nursing care according to the J. N. Giger and R. Davidhizar Nursing Care Models. These models are about regardful and tailored care which we apply to members of Vietnamese community living in the Czech Republic. The theoretic part contains problems of the globalization, migration of foreign people, transcultural nursing, the Giger and Davidhizar nursing care models, information about Vietnam and the model application to members of Vietnamese community living in the Czech Republic. In the practical part we created standard of nursing care named Nursing of Vietnamese patient/client in health care institutions and we are interested in its using in the working practice. Then we found out opinions of people working in health care institutions who work with this standard and found out expectation of Vietnamese patients/clients hospitalized in health care institutions whose findings could help with prevention of hospitalization problems. The goals of the work: 1. Using of modification the Giger and Davidhizar nursing care models with giving care to Vietnamese people in health care institutions 2. To find out cultural changes in nursing process and their influence on behaviour of Vietnamese people in an illness 3. To identify problems and expecting of hospitalized Vietnamese people The research was conducted with the help of quasiexperiment and interview in the Regional Hospital Příbram. We addressed 10 nurses and 6 Vietnamese patients/clients. We must point out that in the year 2007 only 6 Vietnamese people were hospitalized there. The goals of the work were achieved. We hope that our work may help to increase quality and efectivity of the nursing care given to Vietnamese people.

The work examines the prospects of the welfare state in the light of globalization on the basis of literature. It seeks to outline the development of the welfare state and its future in the form of a global world. This similarity implies specific issues. These issues include the question of solidarity, subsidiarity and justice. The first chapter deals with terms, history and typology of the welfare state. The second chapter deals with the functions of the welfare state and the interconnection of the Czech welfare state with European Union. The third chapter is devoted to justice, solidarity, subsidiarity and participation, the principles of the welfare state. The fourth chapter discusses the typology of welfare state according to Spieker. The fifth chapter outlines the perspective of the welfare state in terms of modernization, prosperity and future. The sixth chapter is devoted to global welfare state. By combining all the chapters, we created a comprehensive view of the prospects of the welfare state in the light of globalization.

Degree work, year 2008, University of South Bohemia in Ceské Budejovice, Faculty of economics, Department of management, degree work leader doc. Ing. Ružena KRNINSKÁ, CSc. The aim of the degree work was to chart the labour market in Ceské Budejovice district in relation to foreign countries and to specify the influences on the development of legal employment of foreigners in Ceské Budejovice district, who had been granted a work permit in last 5 years, and the impact on unemployment in Ceské Budejovice district. It also charts the influence of EU entry and its impact on the outflow of workers from the labour market in Ceské Budejovice district. The main aim is to analyze the examined region and the labour market with regard to professions demanded by the employers. It is about how this affects the legal employment of the foreigners. A comparison of Ceské Budejovice employment agency{\crq}s statistics from the years 2003 {--} 2007 and the surveys, done via questionnaire enquiries, at employers (companies) in Ceské Budejovice who employ foreigners or have the intention to employ foreigners, was made. For purpose of cross-border employing of citizens of the Czech Republic via the employees of the employment agency in Ceské Budejovice arranged a contact with an employee of the given agency Arbeitsmarketservice Freistadt, where we talked about questions concerning the way of employing people from abroad, especially the Czech Republic. Further on an analysis of the questionnaire enquiries and the statistical data assigned by the employment agency was made. The results of the questionnaire enquiries were passed on to the employment agency in Ceské Budejovice for further possible use.

The significancy of small and medium enterprise is really important. Small and medium enterprise creates working stations and competitive enviroment. In these days are these enterprise in impasse situation. The tendency of globalization destroys small and medium enterpriseurs, because they cannot create good earnings and sufficient profit. The purpose of this diploma paper was analysis of competition which is situated in local region and which stand to enterpriseur of company Nový Byt in good stead. Nový Byt has a big tradition in local market and the owner offers good services and quality furniture. Feature of this diploma paper was analysis of local and potencional competion and consumer analysis. The biggest competition for the company Nový Byt is definetely Nábytek u Kozů. This company is not situated in Žďár on Sázava, but in Nové Město on Morava. The owner is prepared to establish another store in Žďár on Sázava in future. The company started in 2005 and made a big progress in selling furniture. Nábytek u Kozů sells the same kinds of furniture and accessories like Nový Byt. Prices of that furniture are on the same level and the company offers better and cheaper services. The owner is well-educated in selling furniture, because he worked like a business assistant of furniture company calls Pohoda. Another rival companies are A JE TO and Bexim. These companies are situated in same department store in Žďár on Sázava. A JE TO tries to sell a good-price furniture and offers many services. Bexim sells furniture only from czech suppliers and relies on quality products. The purpose of questionnaire searching is founding segment of customers, which will be usefull for company Nový Byt. It should be persons from 20 ? 59 years old. The most of these respondents were satisfied with the price and quality of furniture. Many of these respondents have no experience with buying products by the internet. This finding was very suprising and it gives the owner big potencial to the future of selling furniture by the internet.

The thesis deals with the presence of Muslims and Islam in the Czech area. Its ambition is to describe the current state, orientation, integration and current public perceptions of Muslim communities in the Czech Republic. For a more comprehensive mapping of the Muslim aspect in the Czech area, the work could not avoid, albeit in a nutshell, certain socio-historical events that could affect actual perceptions of Muslims and Islam by Czech citizens. It describes not only Islamic themes in the literary production in Bohemia and Moravia but also the influence of Islamic science in the Middle Ages and its reflection on the works of Czech scholars. Another part of the text deals with Islam in the Czech Republic in terms of its inclusion in the legislation. Subsequent chapters follow the Muslim community in the Czech Republic, their charity work and degree of integration. The main method of the work is the selection and analysis of selected relevant literary, journal and scientific texts, i.e. texts mentioning Islam on Czech territory from the Middle Ages to the present.

The topic of my thesis is experimental schools in Prague Michle, Nusle and Hostivař. It tries to shed light on the circumstances of the birth and end of these schools and to determine their characteristic features. Emphasis is put on the social aspect of experimentation and its close relation to the environment of the First Czechoslovak Republic. Inspiration by modern pedagogical theories is taken into account. The thesis traces the lives of several teachers. As sources were used not only archives but also a series of interviews with graduates of these schools. It aims, on the basis of a comparison of written and oral sources, to give a complex image of experimental education in Czechoslovakia at the time of the First Republic and the Protectorate. Last but not least it tries to answer the question whether experimental schools can contribute to today's education. Teoretickým východiskem této práce je fenomén globalizace, který pronikl do všech domén včetně mediální, jejíž součástí jsou právě televizní formáty, o kterých tato neboť v sobě mísí prvky globální a zároveň lokální kultury, kdy na základě zakoupení zahraniční licence vzniká celá řada lokálních verzí, jež jsou lokálními specifiky dané kultury. Jedná se o stále vzrůstající h počátků, spojených s formáty, rozštěpil mezi všechny žánry, včetně dramatické tvorby. Tato práce se soustředí na adaptace zahraničních televizních formátů v České televizi. Mapuje nejen vývoj tohoto trendu v jediném českém veřejnoprávním televizním médiu, ale taktéž se věnuje důvodům, které vedou ke koupi zahraničních licencí pro médium, jehož výsadou by měla být původní tvorba. This master thesis focuses on the process of globalization and its consequences that allowed for the formation of multinational corporations. The current environment is characterized by the fast pace of changes that requires firms react flexibly, which demands new approaches to managing employees, creating more flexible organizational structures supporting creative people, and innovation because people and innovations are the key sources of competitive advantages. The goal of this thesis is to analyze changes at O2 after Spanish telecommunications firm Telefónica S.A. sold a majority stake to PPF in 2013. The changes associated with the switch in ownership can chiefly be seen in the firm's goals, its organizational structure, its policy toward employees, in customer satisfaction, and in its investments and share price.

The thesis identifies the role of e-business and ICT in the economy of the present European Union and their function in increasing EU's competitiveness in the world's economy. It maps and evaluates help of the public sector of the European Union for this important component of modern economy. The thesis also describes current state of e-business and ICT both in the European Union and the world and outlines their probable future development.

This thesis deals with an analysis and comparison of tourism within Thailand and Lao PDR. The paper discusses global tourism trends with a special interest dedicated to southeast Asia. Based on studies of history, geography and government programmes of each individual country, conditions for conducting tourism activities were defined. History of tourism as well as develompent of individual destinations were concerned, too. The conclusion summarising present and future possibilities of travel industry in Thailand and Lao PDR also involves information about knowledge and personal approach of Czech public to both countries. The data were collected through an exploratory questionnaire. The next part offers a list of destinations provided by Czech and German travel agencies. Based on the list, an overview of available destinations provided by major Czech and German official mediators was created. One of the chapters also deals with legal conditions governing the rights for setting up a travel agency by non-residents.
