10G GPON Management System Study and Implementation

Li, Jia January 2009 (has links)
This thesis includes the GPON management system concept study and implementation work to translate the command line interface management mechanism to a user friendly GUI (graphic user interface). The original system was developed in C program with a client-server structure. The new system retains the same communication structure and protocol interface between the OLT PON card and user workstations. On the workstation side, a new GUI management client application is developed in Java to offer the similar functionalities as the original one, and a totally new graphic real-time system traffic statistics function is integrated to make it easier for user to monitor system traffic information in real time.   The main object of this project is to study the GPON specifications, and understand GPON system working procedure and traffic transmission principle. On the other hand, ‘original system management application’ study is necessary including third party documentation reading and C code understanding. This study has resulted in the development of a new application in Java with third party user libraries and plug-ins. This new application has been tested using basic function tests executed in the GPON lab environment.

A GUI for online presentation of steel and steelmaking ladle temperature data and simulation.

Faheem, Muhammad January 2009 (has links)
Continuous casting is a casting process that produces steel slabs in a continuous manner with steel being poured at the top of the caster and a steel strand emerging from the mould below. Molten steel is transferred from the AOD converter to the caster using a ladle. The ladle is designed to be strong and insulated. Complete insulation is never achieved. Some of the heat is lost to the refractories by convection and conduction. Heat losses by radiation also occur. It is important to know the temperature of the melt during the process. For this reason, an online model was previously developed to simulate the steel and ladle wall temperatures during the ladle cycle. The model was developed as an ODE based model using grey box modeling technique. The model’s performance was acceptable and needed to be presented in a user friendly way. The aim of this thesis work was basically to design a GUI that presents steel and ladle wall temperatures calculated by the model and also allow the user to make adjustments to the model. This thesis work also discusses the sensitivity analysis of different parameters involved and their effects on different temperature estimations.

P2VSIM: A SIMULATION AND VISUALIZATION TOOL FOR THE P2V COMPILER

Almeida, Oscar 2009 May 1900 (has links)
The Property Specification Language (PSL) is an IEEE standard which allows developers to specify precise behavioral properties of hardware designs. PSL assertions can be embedded within code written in hardware description languages (HDL) such as Verilog to monitor signals of interest. Debugging simulations at the register transfer level (RTL) is often required to verify the functionality of a design before synthesis. Traditional methods of RTL debugging can help locate failures, but do not necessarily immediately help in discovering the reasons for the failures. The P2VSim tool presents the ability to combine multiple Verilog signals not only instantaneously, but also across multiple clock cycles, producing a graphical display of the state of active PSL assertions in a given RTL simulation. When using the P2VSim tool, users will write PSL assertions directly into their Verilog source files. After the tool searches for and loads the embedded assertions, execution trace monitors for the relevant Verilog signals are dynamically generated and written back into the Verilog source code. P2VSim then invokes an RTL simulator, Modelsim, to generate a simulation execution trace, requiring that the designer has some hardware or software testbench already in place. Next, the input PSL assertions are parsed into time intervals that have logical and temporal properties. These intervals are to be displayed graphically when PSL property checking is performed. Finally, the user is allowed to step through simulation one cycle at a time, while the tool applies the simulation execution trace to the instantiated time intervals, performing PSL property checking at each clock cycle. From this, the user can witness the exact clock cycles when PSL assertions are satisfied or violated, along with the causes of such results.

Digitale Vermessung und Auswertung von All-Sky-Meteorfotografien

Molau, Sirko 07 January 1997 (has links) (PDF)

Remote Monitoring and Control of Residential and Commercial Energy Use

Marchman, Christopher, Bertels, Jacob, Gibbs, Dalton, Novosad, Samuel 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2014 Conference Proceedings / The Fiftieth Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 20-23, 2014 / Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, CA / This paper describes a device that integrates remote monitoring and control electronics into a commercial off the shelf 120 VAC power distribution strip and surge protector. An integrated microcontroller collects data on power usage from each of four AC outlets, along with two USB ports, and relays this information to a remote location. Using a conventional web browser to generate a graphical user interface, an untrained user can easily visualize their current and past energy usage patterns, and send commands to control individual outlets.

MATLAB vaizdinio programavimo galimybės / MATLAB visual programming possibilities

Šeškutė, Kristina 08 June 2005 (has links)
For the user’s comfort in modern programs are created system of means, which are called graphical user interface (GUI). GUI is the window, created by user, with lay out graphical elements: command push button, edit text, list boxes, checkboxes, menu and etc. User graphical interface technology started to implant also in modern computer systems, from which the most advanced one – MATLAB. This work examines two ways of MATLAB graphical user interface creation, looks over graphical elements, MATLAB visual possibilities are compared with one the most popular programming medium C++Builder. In applied example are presented the discrete-time signal examples and real sound “a” signal, witch is possible not even depict, but also to hear out. This example demonstrates graphical user interface created by MATLAB.

Object-oriented concepts for land and geographic information systems

Hesse, Walter Josef Heinrich January 1991 (has links) (PDF)
This research studies the impact of Object Oriented Programming Systems (OOPS) and their underlying concepts on Land and Geographic Information Systems (LIS/GIS) in Australasia. This research considers GIS software development and conceptual data modelling aspects, and the strong relationship with proposed spatial data transfer standards. / Conventional programming techniques appear to have reached their limit in coping with complex and diversified applications. "Something better' is envisaged for future software developments and data models in LIS/GIS. The relatively new object-oriented design method is reviewed and a much improved object-oriented software module for the daily maintenance operations in a Digital Cadastral Data Base (DCDB) is presented as an example. This development allows a significant improvement of the spatial accuracy of DCDB systems and its graphical user interface (GUI) represents a much better data quality visualisation tool. / The choice of the right conceptual data model for GIS has a strong impact on proposed spatial data transfer standards and the way in which future Australian GIS communities will 'view' or model their real world. It has therefore been important to critically review these proposals in the Australian context.
