This master’s thesis deals with the possibility of increasing efficiency of energy blocks with combustion engines by the combination of the Sabat and Clausius-Rankine cycle into the combined cycle. In the thesis is briefly described the principle of the function of the auxiliary device, which can increase the efficiency of the combustion engine. This device, which consists of a waste heat boiler and two turbine modules, is designed using calculations. Both turbine modules are prepared with drawing documentation and there are described important structural elements. Each key part of the thesis is given by a brief theory, so the basic theory of combustion engines, waste heat boilers and steam turbine are described.

This diploma work attends to presentation of steam grid boiler for wood and brown coal burning in scale (30/70-wood) in load 60t/h, with parametres of outgoing vapour p=7MPa, t=490°C. The work is splitted to several chapters. At the beginning I’m going to make stechiometric calculation and entalpic calculations of air and compustion gas. After that I’m going to calculate heat balance, losses of boiler and set heat efficiency of boiler. Then I’m going to suggest combustion chamber of boiler and make heat calculation. After suggestion of combustion chamber I’m going to set proportions of pulls and heat-delivery surface. In last chapter I’m giong to check heat balance. Inclosure of my work contains drawing documentation of steam boiler.

This master’s thesis deals with the design of a heat recovery steam generator. The introductory part of the thesis is dedicated to waste heat boilers, their division and their utilization in combined cycles gas turbine. In the following chapter, an analysis of the existing combined heat and power plant operation is performed. In the next part of the thesis, the conceptual layout of the new source is designed. Subsequently, the thermal calculation of the boiler is carried out as well as the design of individual heat exchanging surfaces. The sixth chapter deals with the strength calculation of the boiler and the outer piping, chambers and drum are designed here. At the end of the thesis there are described off-design states of the new combined cycle gas turbine.

A TPV-system consists of a hot surface emitting heat radiation on a solar cell with a narrow bandgap. A unit consisting of a boiler and a TPV-system has been constructed for testing of the performance of TPV cells. The emitter is heated by a fuel consisting of RME-oil. The radiation is collected and concentrated through two reflecting cones formed like a Faberge-egg, with an edge-type optical filter between the cones. The Faberge-egg is treated with electro-polishing in order to obtain a high reflectance of radiation. The edge filter transmits radiation of short wavelengths towards the solar cells and reflects long wavelengths back to the emitter. This increase the temperature of the emitter to prevent the TPV-cells to be overheated. The construction made was working as expected and can be used for further experiments. The performance of the TPV-cells were however very poor because of a low emitter temperature. The main problem was to obtain a good heat transport from the flame to the emitter. It is required that the emitter temperature is considerably increased for justifying a continued work on TPV-systems in combination with boilers.

Nowadays, European power production has to meet requirements than ever before. Environmentally oriented efforts end of coal mining and burning of coal, on which economies of a great number of countries depend. The main objective of these efforts is primarily the production of green energy from renewable energy sources and reduction of dependence on fossil fuels. However, the disadvantage of renewable sources (photovoltaics, wind farms) is their dependence on the weather conditions. As a result, there might be delays in supply of electricity, which must be compensated. One of the solutions is the launch of a combi cycle plant, which has the possibility of almost prompt start-up and electricity production. The combustion of gas and liquid fuels also ensures almost emission-free operation. In addition, thanks to the use of waste heat energy from the gas turbine, it is possible to operate the combi cycle unit with the character of a power plant and as a heating plant. The aim of this thesis is to search for combi cycles and balance calculation of the combi cycle heating plant under given conditions. In the last point, the approximate dimensions of the calculated heating plant are given.

The import of the vegetable has prevailed in the long run over the own production. In connection with this reality and increasing demand for the food with higher quality the production greenhouse is more often built. The providing heat, cold and electricity for the year-round operation is related to the construction and working of these objects. The theoretical part of this theses describes possible ways how to cover energy consumption for the model greenhouse in Kožichovice, Třebíč region. The heat losses and the year-round heat consumption were stated for the selected model and compared with the exact values from Kožichovice. The following method of energy supply was selected based on the calculated energy consumption - the separate cogeneration unit, cooperation of several cogeneration units, a biogas station, a heat pump and central heating system. These methods of energy supply were subjected to technical and economical comparison.

The main part of thesis is design of the waste heat steam boiler. The thermal calculation, aerodynamic calculation, hydraulic calculation and strength calculation were made. The thesis also includes the drawing of designed waste heat steam boiler.
