Gerulytė, Lina 29 June 2009 (has links)
Verslo pokyčių, susijusių su informacinių technologijų ir telekomunikacijų plėtra, valdymo modeliavimas / Business change, caused by information and communication technologies development, anagement modeling

Elskytė, Vida 20 April 2006 (has links)
Theoretical results of the study: 1) the ICT and business management theory evolution is analyzed, particularity of the following characteristics are outlined, the relation between them identified, the impact of information technologies on business management, main trends and dynamics are identified as well; 2) adequacy of business management theories in the ICT development caused conditions are identified; 3) there are summarized proposed or applicable theoretical models of business change management of organizations given by Lithuanian and foreign scientists, complexly evaluated the possibilities to apply change management methods and principles in ICT caused business environment; 4) there is proposed original ICT project classification; 5) the change management model in ICT caused business environment conditions is created. Practical results of the study: 1) possible trends of business environment changes caused by ICT development are determined; 2) applying multi-criteria analysis, there are identified qualitative indicators and methods, which allow effectively evaluate ICT projects; 3) there are made certain proposals, which increase change management efficiency in implementing ICT projects.

AN ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) AND SCIENTIFIC LITERACY IN CANADA AND AUSTRALIA

Luu, King 02 September 2009 (has links)
Despite the lack of substantial evidence for improvement in the quality of teaching and learning with information and communication technology (ICT), governmental organizations, including those of Canada and Australia, have made large investments into ICT. This investment has been largely predicated on the hypothesized relationship between ICT and science achievement, and the need for ICT as a means of providing broad-scale training to meet the demand for a skilled workforce. To better understand this possible relationship, this study used data from the 2006 administration of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA 2006) to determine the extent to which scientific literacy is predicted by student- and school-level variables related to ICT, after adjusting for student demographic characteristics and school characteristics. The findings suggest that, once student demographic characteristics and school characteristics have been accounted for, students with prior experience with ICT, who browse the Internet more frequently, and who are confident with basic ICT tasks earned higher scientific literacy scores. Gender differences existed with respect to types of productivity and entertainment software used; this difference may be attributed to personal choice and initiative to learn ICT. Finally, differences in ICT use between Canada and Australia, particularly with school use, may be due to initiatives in Australia (e.g., National Goals of Schooling for the Twenty-first Century) that promote the increased use of ICT in classrooms. / Thesis (Master, Education) -- Queen's University, 2009-08-31 11:14:15.59

Henriksson, Joakim January 2014 (has links)
This study has had the intention to gain deeper knowledge of some music teachers' management of digital tools but also to see if generation, experience or interest has played an effect on this. Through qualitative interviews of five teachers representing three decades, the study has shown that there is little difference between the age groups. Hermeneutic theory, music didactics and frame factor theory are the theories that have been used in this study to interpret and understand the collected empirics. Interest has been the most common way of dealing with digital tools and is also the reason why the informants in this study choose to develop their own skill set with further training, which they themselves acquire. Creating songs and song searching via Spotify and YouTube is essentially what digital tools are used for in classroom situations. Ratings, reviews, homework, assignments and planning of lessons are what digital tools are used for in planning situations. The biggest reason to use digital tools seems to be due to easy availability and timesaving.

iPad and computer devices in preschool : A tool for literacy development among teachers and children in preschool

Oladunjoye, Olayemi Kemi January 2013 (has links)
The title of this thesis is "iPad and Computer devices in Preschool: A tool for literacy development among teachers and children in preschool." The study was an exploration of how teachers and their pupils put iPad and other computer devices into use in early childhood education. This study was a qualitative research study, based on the observation of the pupils and the interviews of the teachers. In this study, observation of the children and interviewing of the teachers over a period of five weeks produced significant results. The children participants in the observation were approximately 60 and they were between the ages of 3 to 6,5 years. Four preschool teachers and one preschool teaching assistant were interviewed in an attempt to substantiate the use of ICT in early childhood education. The overall result of the study was that the teachers’ positive attitude towards iPad helped to enhance and facilitate the development of literacy skills in the children. This study provided evidence of how children created their own learning environment by actively practising their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. It also showed how ICT enhanced social interaction and developed intra-action activities among the children, to a situation that eventually led to the development in their learning.

It's not about the technology : patterns of teachers' ICT skills and classroom usage 1999-2003 : research report.

Graham, Frances January 2005 (has links)
As Information and Communication Technology (lCT) becomes more commonplace in New Zealand classrooms, the question arises as to what teachers are making of the technology. The present study draws on the responses from some 8000 teachers to a survey repeated over four years. The survey sought information in teachers' ICT usage and skills prior to entry into a professional development programme. The study found few changes for the average teachers' use of lCT in the classroom between 1999 and 2003. Of the changes that occurred, increases in some of the personal ICT skill levels of teachers are among the most marked. This includes an increase in skills in file management, word processing, emailing, and Internet use. For the average teacher, these skills have, however, remained relatively basic. Within the classroom, these basic skills are used mainly for administration as well as planning and preparation, while some increases in skill levels was evident in the areas of Internet use for accessing lesson ideas, assessment, reading official documents, and other professional readings. There have been some increases in the use of lCT for administration, in particular for records/assessment, and writing reports for parents. Integration of lCT into classroom teaching and learning remains unchanged and at a low level during the years studied. Usage of ICT by students of the average teacher have changed little between 1999 and 2003. Important changes can be seen, however, in those teachers with a high degree of skills and usage. Growth in their level of skills is occurring, although the numbers are small. That teachers use ICT mainly for administration purposes as well as for planning and preparation, suggests ICT is currently being 'undersold' as a tool for teaching and learning. Before ICT can be fully integrated by teachers, literature cited in this report points to the need for professional development programmes to focus on pedagogical change.

Traversing the digital divide : issues surrounding usability of the teachers' website Te Kete Ipurangi : research report.

Graham, Frances January 2003 (has links)
Despite the wide availability of computers to teachers throughout New Zealand, and despite the strong philosophy supporting Internet use for teacher development, the actual use of Internet websites aiming to enhance teacher professional development is not high. The New Zealand website Te Kete Ipurangi (TKI) was developed with the aim of connecting teachers to a wide range of materials and information. Professional development of this kind is well supported by many theorists as being able to break down teacher isolation and build a supportive teaching and learning community. Websites for teachers, such as this one, are beginning to develop on the Internet, and their availability to all teachers is of no dispute. The extent to which they are able to be easily employed by teachers as the resources they were intended is, however, a matter only a few have investigated. This research studies some of the navigation aspects of TKI and the usability issues which influence the overall use of this website. Usability tests and a questionnaire were utilised to examine the degree to which this website was usable for teachers and the extent to which there were navigation issues for its intended users. It found that use of TKI was constrained by teachers' own lack of confidence and feelings of inability, as well as several navigation issues. These issues centered on the language used in the website - particularly in the headings; the search facility; the layout of the site; and the speed of use.

Problems and possibilities of telemedicine in India

Movva, Naga Pradeep January 2013 (has links)
Information and communication  technologies  (ICTs)  are  having a great  capability to face some challenges in both developed as well as developing countries which includes providing access,  cost  effective  and  high  quality  health  care  services.  Telemedicine  uses  ICT  to overcome  geographical   barriers,  and  increase  access  to  health  care  services.  This  is particularly beneficial for rural and underserved communities in India. This paper focuses on the rising profile of e-health on the international policy agenda and related developments  in the  National  Health Service. Few developments  in public health today create energy and opportunity present in the word "e-health". As a developing country, India is implementing the technology to deliver health information and services regarding health widely across the country. These solution  though promising also present new challenges particularly in acceptable standards, choice of technologies, overcoming traditional jurisdictional boundaries, investment, privacy and confidentiality.   In this study, examine current state of telemedicine in a developing country, India. Telemedicine has brought several benefits to the people of India, especially those living in rural and remote areas. Discussed the Indian telemedicine implementation case of Apollo Hospital and Chakrajmal village, consolidate lessons learned from cases, and culminate with potential researchable critical success factors that account for the growth and modest successes  of telemedicine  in India. This  research will  discuss  how e-health  provides the opportunity for patients to maintain longer independence and for the providers to monitor    a condition more closely. It also describes barriers and challenges for current status of e- health. Also, an attempt is made for presenting future e-health status in Indian scenario. Further, some  recommendations  are provided for  improvement.
