To Evaluate the Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Schemes--K Bank for Examples

Yu, Pei-yu 14 July 2007 (has links)
In recent years, Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Fund(SMEG) has been actively promoting organization restructuring, boosted its business unceasingly, and impelled each innovation guarantee service actively, in order to display the best benefit. This paper combines C. J. Kuo.¡]2003¡^market-based risk neutral model with actuarial valuation principles, using above observable rate discrepancy¡]i.e. one for that guaranteed by SMEG, and the other for non-guaranteed portion¡^to evaluate the credit risk SMEG assumed from guaranteed schemes, then derives the optimal guaranty fees model. The major research finding shows fixed as follows conclusion: 1.The real prepayment in subrogation is close to the total guaranty fees estimated by proposed model. 2.Applying this model can help that the credit risk degree SMEG takes reacts to the guarantee premium, and that SMEG control risk balance revenue and expenditure. This indicates that the model can reflect market information, and thus is easily applicable and referable by SMEG to establish the structure of guaranty fees as well as to reach an integrated risk management.

Small And Medium-sized Enterprises And Banking Sector In Turkey

Ozalp, Dizem 01 December 2006 (has links) (PDF)
This study has the objective of arguing the fact that the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) lending is developing, relevant to the evolution of the business environment and banking sector, during the period between 2001 &amp / #8211 / 2006 years. The thesis is testing this claim on two data sets. First / the financial data of CBRT during the period of 2001 - 2006 is evaluated. Then, the SME data of a Bank is evaluated. The thesis also covers the arguments on SME definition, the literature survey for SME development policies, SME lending infrastructure, the banking sector, as the main source of finance for SME, and the SME profile of Turkey. The thesis concludes on two things: The share of SMEs in the total credit volume is rising during the period between 2001 &amp / #8211 / 2006 years. And the share of medium-term credits is rising, while the short-term credits&amp / #8217 / is decreasing. In addition to these, the study criticizes the recent SME definition of KOSGEB.

Extracellular Recombinant Human Growth Hormone Production By Pichia Pastoris

Orman, Mehmet Ali 01 August 2007 (has links) (PDF)
In this study, the effects of bioprocess operation parameters on recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) production by P. pastoris were systematically investigated. In this frame, first, for the extracellular expression and purification of human growth hormone by recombinant P. pastoris the cDNA of hGH, fused with a polyhistidine tag and also fused with a target site for the Factor Xa protease in which cleavage produces a mature N- and C- termini of rhGH, was cloned into pPICZ&amp / #945 / A plasmid and the constructed system within the plasmid, pPICZ&amp / #945 / A::hGH, was integrated to AOX1 locus of P. pastoris and expressed under alcohol oxidase promoter which is induced by methanol. With dot-blot analysis, the appropriate two strains producing human growth hormone at high levels and having different methanol utilization phenotype (Mut+ and Muts) were chosen among the other transformants. Then, the effects of methanol concentrations on the expression of rhGH and cell growth were analyzed and both of the phenotypes were compared in defined and complex media in laboratory scale air filtered shake bioreactors. The highest rhGH concentration for Mut+ and MutS, was found as 0.052 kg m-3 and 0.16 kg m-3, respectively, at 2 %(v/v) methanol concentration in complex medium. When methanol was used as the sole carbon source in defined medium, Muts phenotype had very low specific growth rate on methanol due to the intrinsic characteristics of it, therefore detectable rhGH was not observed, on the other hand, optimum rhGH concentration produced by Mut+ strain was found as 0.032 kg m-3 at 3% (v/v) methanol concentration in defined medium. In mixed system (glycerol/methanol) which is also defined, when the optimum glycerol concentration, 30 kg m-3, was used, Muts produced the highest rhGH, 0.110 kg m-3, at 1% (v/v) methanol concentration and any increase in methanol concentration resulted in lower rhGH production, on the other hand, Mut+ strain produced 0.060 kg m-3 rhGH at 4% (v/v) methanol concentration, which indicated that higher rhGH production capacity of Mut+ strain was obtained at high methanol concentrations. Using the designed defined medium for Mut+ phenotype where methanol was used as the sole carbon source with an optimum concentration of 3% (v/v), the effects of oxygen transfer on rhGH production, by-product formation, and cell growth, oxygen transfer and fermentation characteristics were investigated by using pilot scale bioreactor. Oxygen transfer effects on rhGH production were investigated at QO/VR=0.5 vvm / N=250, 500, 625, 750 min-1 conditions. The variations in rhGH , cell, amino acid and organic acid concentrations with the cell cultivation time, specific cell growth rate, the oxygen uptake rate, the liquid phase coefficient by using the dynamic method, maintenance coefficient for oxygen and yield coefficients were determined. The highest rhGH concentration was obtained at 0.5 vvm, 500 min-1 condition as 0.023 kg m-3 with 5.37 kg m-3 cell density.

Determinants Of Managerial Responses To Environmental Issues In Small And Medium Enterprises In Turkey

Unver, Tayyar Can 01 January 2009 (has links) (PDF)
The main purpose of this study is to identify the major driving factors that determine the environmental commitments and certification ownership of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Turkey. Turkey has been undergoing major economic and environmental developments since 1990ies. SMEs play a significant role in the Turkish economy, constituting 99.8% of total enterprises in number. Even though most managers overlook their firms&rsquo / particular impacts, SMEs&rsquo / cumulative effect on natural environment is significant. According to previous research, regulations, community, competitors, suppliers, consumers and media have been found to be the main external determinants that affect a manager&rsquo / s attitudes about the environment and therefore his or her firm&rsquo / s environmental commitments / whereas managers&rsquo / beliefs about the environment, their confidence in their firm&rsquo / s abilities and resources and their environmental governance principles are the internal determinants. In line with previous research findings, this study tries to examine the effects of these factors along with the demographic characteristics of the manager&rsquo / s. As the results of the questionnaire distributed to 80 SME managers in Ankara suggest, institutional and social pressures and manager&rsquo / s confidence in him/herself and his/her firm&rsquo / s abilities showed to have significant influence on the firm&rsquo / s environmental commitments, along with the size of the company and the education level of the manager. In addition to that, external pressures and size are also major factors driving SMEs to obtain environmental certifications.

Kuo, Kai-Chen 21 June 2001 (has links)
This study aims to make a diagnosis and counseling to the operation of small and medium businesses of high-tech by way of case study. Two manufacturers of electronic passive components were chosen in this study. Acting as the assistant and consultant of the top management, the writer took about 21 months to proceed with the study by practically participating in the operation of the object companies. This study includes the following contents¡G(1) Basic Analysis, (2)Financial Analysis, (3)Operating Goal and (4)Operating Counseling. For the Basic Analysis, the two companies have been making better profit through the diagnosis and counseling. For the Financial Analysis, ¡§A¡¨ Company has the most complete financial operating report, with which the management can be fully aware of and then successfully control the financial status of the company. Examples are provided in this study. For the Operating Goal, the policy of the gross margin ratio is the most significant part of the strategy in ¡§A¡¨ and ¡§B¡¨ companies. The analyzing method of Boston Consultant Group is proved effective for making the strategy of gross margin ratio and OK yield. At last, for the Operating Counseling, practical examples are offered in many aspects, such as manufacturing and technology, 5S arrangements, management conference, human resources, joint investment and quality assurance. During the period of study, some very important ideas have been attained in the interpersonal relationship, i.e. ¡§management is service¡¨ and ¡§establishing good communication mechanism is vital for management¡¨. Besides, 26 forms have been collected for maintaining the management system, including financial management, manufacturing, quality and sales control, and operating management. The operating diagnosis and counseling are more essential for small and medium businesses than for those big companies since they are different in capital investment, man power and profit risk. It is a favorable result that the two companies have been making noticeable achievements during this period of time. The methods described in this study have also been applied to another two companies with remarkable outcome. As in chemical reaction, the operating counseling could be a catalyzer when it is well applied, while it could be a restrainer when being misused. The methods described in this report will help to make an efficient counseling, which will accelerate business development.

The Study of Dynamic System Guidance to Management Strategy- For the Case of Small-Medium Enterprise in Taiwan.

Hsieh, Min-Hsin 17 August 2008 (has links)
For the thinking of System Dynamics guidance the priority is the understanding and governing the Dynamic Complexity of management strategy in the enterprise operation, how to get over the maze of Dynamic Complexity in the field of strategy management has been becoming the necessary thinking, and also be required as the basic element of enterprise management for all remarkable entrepreneurs. Dynamic Complexity is existing in the nature (Marco Cycling), also embodying in each human being (Micro Cycling), which is changing in every mil-second, interacting and maintaining the cyclic operation in harmonic balance skillfully. As likely, the internal, external environment and conditions of the enterprise operation are also varing, inter-complementing, inter-restricting all the time so as to reciprocally create the constant rule of Causal Feedback. The philosophy concept and method of System Dynamics, System Thinking is completely furnishing a key to release the Dynamic Complexity, so the management strategy can be reviewed, integrated by this marco thinking to the fullness. General reviewing on the operation status of Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) in Taiwan are being become more strictly constricted by the marco economical environment and the owned resource of each self. The sustained years of enterprise operational life and the ratio of survived company numbers of SME are becoming lower-down year by year. Therefore, in the front of management the System Complexity has been more serious now, then how to find out a key to pass thru this maze is the focus of thinking in this thesys researching. By a Questionnaire Investigation in this study the Strategy Themes of SME in Taiwan have been selected by the management of bench-marking enterprises for which they are most concerning about, there-after the Strategy Themes of System Complexity on Strategy Map, Balanced Scorecard are infrastructed. The dynamic inter-relation of Strategy Themes are displayed in the four perspectives of Balanced Scorecard and Strategy Map, there-after the real example of an enterprise is substantially applied to illustrate KPI and target of Balanced Scorecard and the Action Plan in this study. The core of System Complexity for these Strategy Themes are guidied to study by the System Thinking of Causual Diagram, One General Diagram is arised and ten of Causual Diagram are constructed separately from it to present the inter-relative of these Strategy Themes connections, there-after ¡§Positive Loop¡¨ (Reinforcing Loop), Negative Loop (Balancing Loop), Time Delay in each Loop are reviewed and explained the presentation of its inter-relative and followed up the workable leverage solutions as per the experienced reality of business practice. The presentation in each Causual Diagram doesn¡¦t mean to only one implication exclusively, it is giving the management to have the non-linear, marco reviewing more widely on these Strategy Themes and it will be able to find out the solutions and settlement when they are facing or tired-up by the same or similar strategy concerns in the substantial of business operation. This will be the favorable way of the management to find out a key for getting over the maze of System Complexity.
