The main focus of this thesis is to highlight the importance of PHY abstraction for the system level evaluations in the framework of 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks. This thesis presents a pragmatic approach towards the use of PHY abstraction in LTE based system level simulators. PHY abstraction is an extremely valuable low complexity tool for efficient and realistic large scale system evaluations. This thesis shows that apart from the primary purpose of PHY abstraction of providing instantaneous link quality indicator for the purpose of system level evaluations, it can be further used for an improved channel quality indicator (CQI) feedback based on the different antenna configurations and for the performance prediction of LTE networks based on the real life channel measurements. This thesis is mainly divided into two parts; methodologies and applications. The first part presents the complete design and validation methodology of PHY abstraction schemes for various antennaconfigurations corresponding to different transmission modes in LTE. The validation is performed using link level simulators and it also highlights the calibration issues necessary for the PHY abstraction to be accurate in predicting the performance of capacity achieving turbo codes.

Performance Factors that Influence Marketing Measurement in Successful Small BusinessesFluker, Tareion M 01 January 2016 (has links)
During the 2009 economic recession, United States business leaders cut marketing expenditures between 33% and 50% more than they did for any other business expenditure to mitigate financial loss because business leaders often regard marketing as an expense and not an investment. Since there is not a widely applied marketing measurement standard, this multiple-case study focused on finding key performance indicators that healthcare and sales small business leaders in eastern United States with less than 500 employees, and marketing evaluation practices in place, used to evaluate the effectiveness of their marketing. Institutional theory was used as the conceptual framework to explore the key drivers behind marketing measurement practices. The focus of this study was on the experiences of 4 small business leaders in Atlanta, Georgia, and Baltimore, Maryland, who have developed financial and nonfinancial strategies to measure their marketing performance. Data collected for this study included 20-minute interviews with each participant, strategic plans, and field notes. A modified van Kaam and triangulation approach was used for data analysis to identify themes, which included the need to tie marketing measurement to the product or service offering and drive revenue or traffic to their business. The results of the study may benefit practitioners who work on social change strategies because the conclusions clarify effective marketing practices and increase well-being of customers. Further, this study provides recommendations for successful marketing measurement strategies that may help businesses meet the needs of community members.

Combined Scale Weight, Height at Hips and Visual Condition Score as an Indicator of Functional Body Size in Range CowsDavis, Patricia B. 01 May 1984 (has links)
Thirty-five range cows of various breeds were obtained for the study. Body measurements taken were live weight and hip height and all cows were condition scored for level of fatness. The cows were slaughtered and the following morning several carcass measurements were taken and the plate was removed from the left side. These plates were boned and the remaining flesh ground for chemical analysis of percent carcass fat. Regression equations were calculated for estimating percent carcass fat from condition score, weight:height ratio and hip height (R2=.765). However, condition score alone is the single best estimator for percent carcass fat (R2=.759).

A correlational study of cognitive style measured by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Witkin group embedded figures testMuessle, Leith Wood 01 January 1989 (has links)
A review of the literature suggests a coincidence of personality characteristics among the cognitive styles defined by Field Dependence-Independence and the Myers-Briggs type preferences. This thesis proposed these independent measures of cognitive style tap common cognitive processes and hypothesized the Myers-Briggs dimensions of Extraversion-Introversion (EI), Sensing-Intuition (SN), and Judgement-Perception (JP) would correlate positively and Thinking-Feeling (TF) would correlate negatively with the dimension Field Dependence-Independence (FD-FI) as measured by the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT). The relationships of gender, age, and intelligence to the prediction of field-dependence-independence were also tested.

Vliv územní infrastruktury na regionální rozvoj / Influence of territorial infrastructure on regional developmentNetuka, Vojtěch January 2022 (has links)
This bachelor thesis deals with the determination of influence of territorial infrastructure on regional development. Basic concepts of the issue and a procedure of the construction of a composite indicator are explained in the theoretical part. Methodology of work lies in the creation of two composite indicators characterizing areas of territorial infrastructure and regional development using appropriate input statistical data. These indicators are then subjected to a correlation analysis.

Lokální princip sociálních podniků zblízka / On the local principle of social enterprises up closeČechová, Jitka January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to provide a view of fulfilment of the local principle in selected social enterprises using the qualitative method of multiple case studies. The local principle and its fulfilment are, along with the social, economic and environmental principles, a cri- terion to distinguish whether or not an examined subject is a social enterprise according to TESSEA. The local principle is characterized by preferential fulfilment of local needs and cooperation with local actors. The thesis describes specific forms of fulfilling the local principle in selected social enterprises within the context of their location. The inquiry about the local principles, their particular forms and obstacles preventing their fulfilment is carried out through examination of documents and mainly by means of semi-structured interviews. Keywords Social enterprise, principles of social enterprise, local principle, indicator

Srovnávací analýza SIMO a MIMO metod experimentální modální analýzy / Comparison and analysis of the SIMO and MIMO methodology in the experimental modal analysisManga, Martin January 2012 (has links)
Today represents vibration analysis an inseparable part of the product design, especially aeronautical components, machine tools etc. One of the vibration analysis methods is the so-called modal analysis, which determines the modal parameters of the researched structure. This paper deals with a comparison of two commonly used approaches, namely „Single Input Multiple Output“ (SIMO) and „Multiple Input Multiple Output“ analysis (MIMO). A MIMO procedure of measurement is developed and discussed. Both analyses are executed by the same conditions on the milling machine based on parallel kinematics in order to objective comparison. The results show that the choice of the so-called refer-ence points is very important. In case both references are appropriately selected, the MIMO analysis gives better results that the SIMO one.
