Pour développer le capital émotionnel, le domaine de l'éducation a besoin des programmes globaux qui pourraient former des individus sains, équilibrés, compétitifs, et capables à apporter le progrès, la paix et la prospérité à la société. Il y a aujourd’hui un besoin urgent de former des individus sains, équilibrés et équipés de compétences émotionnelles, personnelles et sociales pour faire face, dans un premier temps à des problèmes émotionnels, personnels, psychologiques, et socio-économiques, et afin de répondre, dans un deuxième temps, aux exigences du contexte social tout en prenant en compte les futurs défis. Le but de cette recherche était d'étudier les effets d'un programme de formation des compétences émotionnelles sur le développement du capital émotionnel des enfants des écoles primaires au Pakistan. / The purpose of this research was to study the effects of an Emotional Competency Training Program, based on two conceptual models of Mayer & Salovey Model of EI and Goleman model of EI and one action model of Six Seconds Model of EI, on the development of emotional capital of primary school children in Pakistan. The sample of the study was the 4th class students from Amanat Memorial High School in Lahore, Pakistan. The class of 32 students was randomly divided into 16 students for experimental group and 16 for the control group. Different students from both groups could not participate in post-test or follow up and finally the 9 students for each group were included in the final data analysis of this research. The research had a pretest-posttest design with a control group and a follow up after the two month from posttest phase. The data was analyzed statistically by using the multivariate repeated measures analysis of variance technique with SPSS software. The results of the research demonstrate that the experimental group significantly increased the emotional capital scores at post-test phase as compared to the control group’s mean scores. While the experimental group, compared to control group, sustained this development up to the follow-up phase two months after the post-program phase.

The complexity of mental development in humans together with human interaction
in the social context presents itself to be a continued source of investigation and
exploration. Emotional Intelligence (EI) is such a field of study in the discipline of
psychology. Researchers emphasized the importance and value of emotional
development ("soft-skills") equal to cognitive development (“hard-skills”). EI
abilities are associated with key skills and competencies required for operating
successfully in today’s organizations. This study focused on this theme
specifically and tried to determine how EI training impacted on the success of the
individual who fits the modern working profile and how emotionally intelligent
employees are beneficial to organisational success overall.
An ethnographic qualitative study (including an autoethnography) was performed
on individuals of different participant groupings who completed the Neuro-Link EI
Program. The aim was to assess if they showed increased growth in areas of EI,
specifically addressed in the program namely self-awareness, self-management,
social awareness, and social management. Findings indicated that EI training
works with positive results. It was of great value to the individual having an
immense impact on their personal lives. It further had a major positive impact on
the group dynamics of individuals who attended the training. At companies where
facilitators presented the program, EI training had a positive impact. A conclusion
on the impact that such training had on the two companies whose staff members
directly participated in this study, was not yet possible at the time of the study.
The development of an awareness model for the promotion of EI training in the
workplace is recommended. This may increase available knowledge regarding
corporate EI training but also accelerates an emerging, but a too slowly growing movement. / Psychology / M.A. (Psychology)

'Factum ex scientia': I Canadian Corps Intelligence during the Liri Valley Campaign, May – June 1944Seefeldt, Connor 26 September 2012 (has links)
Studies on Canadian Army military intelligence remain sparse in Canadian military historiography. This study is unique in that it focuses on the development, doctrine, and influence of intelligence within the I Canadian Corps throughout the Liri Valley battles during the Italian Campaign. It will be argued that I Canadian Corps intelligence achieved notable overall success in helping to break the Hitler Line by providing comprehensive and relatively up-to-date information on enemy dispositions and strengths which helped commanders and staff planners properly prepare for the operation. This success was attributable to three main factors: excellent intelligence personnel selection and training; the successful mentorship of I Canadian Corps intelligence by Eighth Army's intelligence cadre; and the overall effectiveness of 1st Canadian Infantry Division's intelligence organization which had been in the Mediterranean theatre since July 1943. Notwithstanding these successes, a number of faults within the Canadian Corps intelligence system must also be explained, including the poor performance of 5th Canadian Armoured Division's intelligence organization during the pursuit up the Liri–Sacco Valleys, and the mediocre execution of Corps counter-battery and counter-mortar operations. This study will demonstrate how an effective intelligence organization must augment existing army doctrine and how it can mitigate, though not completely eliminate, battlefield uncertainty. Further, it will also demonstrate that a comprehensive lessons-learned process must be undertaken to continually refine existing intelligence doctrine and procedures, with frequent training programs inculcating personnel in this doctrine. Taken as a whole, this study is unique as it is one of only several studies devoted solely to developing a greater understanding of a little-understood, and often forgotten, staff function within the Canadian Army during the Second World War.
