LEGALITY OF THE INTERVENTION DURING LIBYAN CIVIL WAR Abstract The main purpose of this paper is to answer the questuion, if the NATO intervention in Libya during Libyan civil war in 2011 was in accordance with the international law. To achieve this purpose, the paper is divided into three parts. The first one, represented by chapters 1-5, describes self-defence and armed actions of the Security Council under the chap. VII of the UN Charter, which are legal and quite controversial concept of the humanitarian intervention and R2P concept. The role of regional arrangements in peacekeeping is also mentioned. The second part, represented by chap. 6, contains a case study whose object is the Libyan civil war in 2011 between col. Gaddafi's forces and the rebels supported by the NATO. The chapter 6 contains a detailed summary of various demonstrations, battles and campaigns, including the operation Unified Protector. The third part, chap. 7, is pointed on the question of legality of the NATO intervention. Albeit authorisation by the Resolution 1973, the legality of the intervention is questionable. Koncept humanitární intervence z pohledu Ruské federace / The concept of humanitarian intervention from the Russian perspectiveKubátová, Eliška January 2016 (has links)
The diploma thesis is concerned with the approach of Russian federation towards the humanitarian intervention concept, respectively to the responsibility to protect (R2P) doctrine, which was endorsed by all member states of the United Nations at the 2005 World Summit. The main idea of the doctrine is a duty of all states to protect their citizens, and if certain state is manifestly failing to protect its population, the international community has responsibility to use appropriate measures in order to protect lives of civilians. Therefore in extreme cases, states have the right to military intervene on a territory of other state. The Russian federation, which traditionally promotes principles of state sovereignty and non- interference, rejects the liberal conception of the humanitarian intervention and strongly criticizes interventions led by the West. On the other hand, Russia uses the concept if its own interests are at stake. The thesis illustrates this ambiguous perception of the humanitarian intervention concept by the Russian federation on several historic events, when Moscow either criticized Western states' implementation of the R2P concept (NATO intervention in Kosovo or the cases of Libya and Syria), or used the concept on its own in order to legitimize military intervention (Chechnya,...

Intervence na ochranu vlastních občanů z pohledu mezinárodního práva / Intervention to protect a country's own nationals from the perspective of international lawFilipková, Tereza January 2015 (has links)
The concern of this thesis is the intervention to protect nationals from the perspective of international law, which is part of a broader issue of the use of force in international relations. Although this type of intervention was already a part of the international community before the Napoleonic era - even in the 20th century it was not a minor feature - it is still controversial, and subject to many different interpretations. There are not only big differences between the opinions of particular states of the international system, but also among the international law scholars. The main goal of this Master's thesis is to answer the research question: Is the intervention to protect nationals legal according to the rules of international public law? Besides the Introduction and Conclusion this thesis is divided into four chapters. The first is devoted to the definition of the given phenomenon. It is an integral part of my thesis, because there is no legal definition of the term intervention to protect nationals or of the term intervention. The second chapter deals with the rules of use of force within international relations - above all with Article 2(4) of the UN Charter (which prohibits the use of force) and its exceptions. The interpretative controversies are also included in this chapter. The...

Důvody intervence do výkonu rodičovských práv / Reasons for intervetion in the exercising of parental rightsKraicová, Kateřina January 2011 (has links)
Grounds of intervention in execution of parental rights (abstract) The upbringing of a child is the major right and duty of its parents. The Convention on the Rights of the Child binds signatory states to respect the privacy of the family and the rights of parents to raise their children. According to this international treaty and also to national legal documents, such as the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms and the Family Code, the only acceptable ground for state intervention into the family is the interest of the child. The child can be separated from its parents only when this action is in accordance with the child's best interest and if the conditions for such action given by the law are met. The aim of my thesis is to introduce the institute of intervention in parental rights in czech family law and focus on the grounds and conditions for its application. The purpose of my thesis is to look at this institute from a different perspective than everybody else. During my studies I came across many textbooks, articles, papers and lectures concerning this matter. Each one of them focused on the means of state intervention. In the press we see confused interpretations of court's rulings concerning children taken from their families and speculations of state despotism in this matter. I realized that...

Ovlivňování úspěšnosti a přesnosti patovacího úderu pomocí drilových cvičení / Influencing the success and accuracy of putting stroke using drill exercisesBrožka, Matěj January 2018 (has links)
Title: Influencing the success and accuracy of putting stroke using drill exercises Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the influence of specific training conditions (short and long drills) on the success and accuracy of putting stroke of amateur golfers. Methods: Ten amateur golfers participated in this study (age = 35,0 ± 12,9 years; height = 176,7 ± 10,1 cm; weigth = 73,9 ± 17,7 kg; Hcp = 27,7 ± 13,4; game experiance = 4,2 ± 2,6 years). The design of this study consisted of data collection before training, a training session, and data collection after training. Before and after intervention each player made 10 putts from distance of 0,9 m, 1,5 m, 3 m, 8 m, 10 m a 12 m. During 4 weeks of intervention, the research file was divided into two grups (short and long drills). To determine the relationship between parameters success and accuracy, game level (hcp), game experience and training frequency was used Pearson's correlation coefficient (p < 0,05). To determine the statistically significant difference between the pre and post intervention test was used a paired t-test. Results: When evaluating all players together before and after intervention, we found higher success of short putts (by 11 %, p < 0,001) and higher accuracy of long putts (by 15,8 %, p < 0,001). A group of short...
