Krejčová, Martina January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with the Benedetto Croce's influence on the aesthetics of Josef Bartoš mainly between the years 1920 and 1929. It presents the historical facts effecting this influence and also the theoretical themes that determine the nature of the connection between Benedetto Croce and Josef Bartoš. Focusing on the historical parts of this thesis, the main point is to describe the evolution of the aesthetic attitudes of Josef Bartoš towards Benedetto Croce's philosophical system, and to find out the possible historical events that could play certain part in the evolution. On the level of theoretical survey the thesis describes the change of aesthetic attitudes of Josef Bartoš concerning the evolution of his theoretical specialisations and also the change in the scale of his philosophical studies. Méně je někdy více: studie rozhodování v kontextu kognice, intuice a životního štěstí / Less is sometimes more: study of decision - making in the context of cognition, intuition and well-being

Schautová, Nina January 2016 (has links)
The goal of this work is to provide an overview of new trends in the research of decision-making, as well as offer practical guidelines for the practice of decision-making based on up-to-date knowledge. Theoretical part offers an overview of current developments and efforts in decision-making along with a critical perspective on the limited view of decision-making. I offer a new perspective on the purpose and goals of research in the area of decision-making with the aim to improve not only objective results of decision-making, but also overall well-being. I also revitalize intuition as a valid strategy for decision- making. Empirical part presents three research studies, which focus on various aspects of this new approach to decision-making. First focuses on time decisions, which are, unlike financial decisions, almost uncovered by decisional research. Second research builds on current work of D. Ariely and D. Gilbert and supports their thesis, that commitment plays a key role in decisional satisfaction. Last research maps our self- perception in decision-making and how it relates to our well-being. Key words: decision-making, intuition, well-being, life satisfaction, commitment

Svět asymetrické odpovědnosti / World of asymmetrical responsibility

Kukla, Karel January 2016 (has links)
Thesis work WORLD OF ASYMMETRICAL RESPONSIBILITY develops the original racional concept concentrated on human existence, which was broken by the FACE OF THE OTHER MAN by Levinas. Using analogy we take human FACE AS THE CENTER OF MAN, his body center. The FACE moves forward and has a never ending range. Its potency and vital power calls for further research. Rule of law of asymmetrical responsibility standing for THE OTHER MAN and everyone with a character of unique choice are covered in this thesis work. The contribution into philosophy of education will be seen in restoration of original conception of theoria. Novum to asymmetrical responsibility and its origin are touching the conscious practice deriving from universal FACE. Namelees universal FACES with their own seals form the WORLD OF ASYMMETRICAL RESPONSIBILITY. Life in it in a way of eternity receives and gives immediately the CENTER of neverending row of human looks of FACES with irreplaceable destination in saving human life. Vztah iluzorního a skutečného u Henri Bergsona / The Relation of the Real and the Illusory in the works of Henri Bergson

Hollmannová, Barbora January 2018 (has links)
In his writings, Bergson criticizes the scientific concept of time as a discontinuous and homogeneous succession. According to Bergson, scientific methods do not lead to an authentic knowledge of the reality which is inherently continuous and heterogeneous for him. The more we objectify and conceptualize the world, the more far away are we from being aware of it and actually grasping it. The reason for this distance or distortion is our intellect that always operates with a linear concept of time and always serves everyday conduct. Thus it works with the delusion of time that produces a useful but to some extent illusory knowledge. The question for this thesis is how inteligence or intellect meets with reality in spite of their different nature. What makes it possible to connect our practical needs with reality. Is the world we are living in, the world of our practical life, real or just an illusion of reality? And how can we understand the meaning of our scientific cognition in this sense?

Intuice a vakuum filmového obrazu / Intuition and vacuum of film imaging

Krůček, Václav January 2020 (has links)
My PhD thesis explores impacts of the specific moments of film within the context of its ontological potential. It follows forms of intervention into stability and continuity of visual re-presentation, which may induce intuition of the new. The opening chapters are devoted to the image "in itself", presented as duration of a "self-modulating" shot, whose apparent stillness initiates (with participation of sound) the pressure of off-screen field. The relationship of visible and sensible is considered from this point as initiation of impulses and changes immanent to film recording, as examined in subsequent arguments. Presented shots in these cases not only fulfill its narrative function by means of pictorial representation, but act concurrently as movement of elementary structures in time, as Gilles Deleuze points out. Based on references to his reflections, the following chapters expand on topics that analyze factors, partaking in possible initiation of intuition: effects of sequential processes of difference and repetition in film images, their rhythm, duration, elementarization, refraction and disappearance. Sudden occurences and persistence of these processes are demonstrated in film examples, where intuition departs medium and unfolds reality beyond film.

Filozofie přirozeného jazyka - její úpadek a co po něm / Philosophy of Ordinary Language - its Decline and What to Do After It

Ivan, Michal January 2019 (has links)
The general topic of the thesis is the history of the Ordinary Language Philosophy. To be more precise, it deals with the critical arguments, which were raised against is. The thesis offers a short historical and sociological review of the Ordinary Language Philosophy. Critical analysis shows two things: 1) the main reason for the rejection was a different understanding of meaning (and consequences of such a understanding); 2) critics begged the question and already assumed the justification of these rejections in their arguments. The area of this criticism was: the paradigm case argument, the empirical nature of the statements of meaning produced by the Ordinary Language Philosophy, the structural elements of meaning and the political implications of the theory of meaning. The thesis criticizes the Ordinary Language Philosophy in those parts (and in such interpretations), where its understanding of meaning does not differ from the understanding of the critics and where they share common assumptions. On the other hand, the thesis argues for an interpretation, which avoids classical understanding of meaning in all its consequences. Finally, the thesis asks how the Ordinary Language Philosophy can be useful for contemporary debates.

Dennettova kritika kválií / Dennett's Criticism of Qualia

Kubelková, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
Topic of this thesis is Dennett's criticism of the philosophical notion of qualia. First, the notion of qualia and the meaning it acquires within philosophy are introduced. Then, four thought experiments are presented to serve as an argument in favor of existence of qualia along with Dennett's reaction to these thought experiments. After that, Dennett's criticism of qualia as immediately apprehensible, ineffable, intrinsic and private properties of conscious mental states is introduced while one of the most common objections to this criticism is emphasized - Dennett's conception of qualia is too narrow and we can preserve it in a moderate way. Subsequently, the thesis outlines such a modest concept - the concept of phenomenal consciousness. This thesis attempts to show that there is no place for phenomenal consciousness in Dennett's heterophenomenology and Multiple Drafts model and that Dennett is as skeptical about this term as he is about the notion of qualia. In the end, the thesis asks the question whether it is really necessary to give up the concept of phenomenal consciousness if we want to study consciousness scientifically - from the third-person point of view.
