Same story told differently how the socio-cultural factors influenced the creation of Abre los Ojos and Vanilla Sky / Stejný příběh vyprávěný odlišně

Viitman, Milena January 2015 (has links)
Nejprve budu psát o typech nových filmových zpracování, a o tom proč Hollywood předělává evropské filmy.

Patos jako přirozená součást filmového vyprávění / Pathos as a Natural Aspect of Film Narration

Soukupová, Irena January 2016 (has links)
In my work I deal with a phenomenon that has been discussed widely but still remains elusive pathos. Pathos bears significances for current society that are not always positive. That is why I am going to try to define it, as well as categorize it. I am going to describe the usage and exploitation of pathos in cinema. I am also going to think of pathos criteria or what it determines - is it still pathos or so called sentiment? Unlike sentiment, pathos has its historical background. Based on particular films and scenes analysis, I will clearly demonstrate how to work with pathos. I will also show how to create pathos itself altogether with pathetically tuned scenes by means of particular devices of film language.

When Colour Narrates: Colour as a Narrative Tool in Audio-visual Storytelling / When Colour Narrates: Colour as a Narrative Tool in Audiovisual Storytelling

Larsen, Morten January 2017 (has links)
This thesis explores the use of colour as a narrative tool within the realm of cinema. Even though colours have taken up a considerable role in the history of film, colour theory and colour aesthetic have not received reasonable attention in film studies compared to other fields. The thesis reflects upon why this might be the case based on the hypothesis by David Bachelor that a history long “chromophobia” has existed in the arts in the Western world. The paper then seeks to give an overview of relevant theory of colour that tries to shed light on the multiplex nature of colour itself, and in continuation to that, its ability to convey meaning within audio-visual story-telling. Finally, this paper shall investigate the selected works by three directors - Eric Rohmer, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Alfred Hitchcock - that utilize colour narratively within their work but in various ways. It is the aim of this thesis that the analysis supported by theory shall prove the quality and unique property of colour in audio-visual storytelling.

Budoucnost evropských producentů filmu umělecké hodnoty / THE FUTURE OF EUROPEAN PRODUCERS FOCUSED ON FILM OF ARTISTIC VALUE

Novotný, Mikuláš January 2015 (has links)
In its first part, this master thesis focuses on dividing potential approaches towards producing films, according to pre-defined goals of the producers (income/fame/artistic value). It explores the term art-house cinema and alerts on the impact of international education programs and film subsidies, which (applied altogether) may only lead to an average result - average film. A short historical context of selected French and Spanish producers is being afterwards accompanied by two large interviews with present successful producers, Cedomir Kolar and Luis Minarro. These two interviews shall refer to various approaches to producing, within the actual system. In its ending, the thesis calls for bravery of the upcoming generation to search for alternative model of producing and distributing films of artistic value.

Erotika v animovaném loutkovém filmu / Erotica in a puppet animated film

Žák, Vojtěch January 2016 (has links)
Eroticism and pornography in animated puppet film is a niche genre. Nevertheless, it deserves attention for its unique means of expression. The subject matter of this thesis is a reflection on the relationship between corporeality and the puppet in film. It also includes selected auteur independent films and their analysis, in which sexual behavior is the prevalent topic or which contain explicit erotic scenes. The puppet functions as a representation of human body; specifically, within the context of this thesis, of the body in erotic situations. The body of the puppet becomes a representation of our own body. With the emergence of new technologies, we can become a representation of the puppet, which in turn becomes a puppeteer, an animator. The principle of identification with the main protagonist is essential for interpretation of the role and function of the puppet in film. One of the key instruments of interpretation of the role of the puppet in film and understanding its function in film. The chosen theme is accompanied by definitions of key terms and a brief overview of legislation concerning pornographic animated film.
