Vliv pohybových aktivit ve vodě na kloubní pohyblivost u seniorů. / The impact of physical activities in water on joints movements of seniors

Hlavínová, Tereza January 2013 (has links)
A B S T R A C T T I T L E The Impact of physical activities in water on joints movements of seniors. O B J E C T I V E The evaluation of the impact of physical activities in water on joint movements of elderly people. From the data available which measures the movements of shoulder and hip joints at the beginning, in the middle and after the training session, we identify whether there are some changes in the range of movements available of the tested joints. M E T H O D The efficiency of swimming program whose duration was 15 weeks was evaluation by measuring the improvement of movements possible of shoulder and hip joints. There were two groups of elderly people tested. The first group consisted of university students taking courses for elderly people, the latter group consisted of elderly volunteers. Both programmes had the same content. R E S U LT S After the swimming program finished, there were measurable changes in the range of joint movements all participants could perform. In majority of cases these changes were positive (i.e enlargement of the range available), in some case the rotation of the joint in certain movements remained same but there were some elderly people whose range of joint movements was reduced. Overall, the range enlargement was estimated to be higher by 5 - 10ř. K E Y W O R D S...

Vliv kvality artikulačních UHMWPE vložek na životnost kloubních náhrad / The influence of the quality of articulation UHMWPE inserts on the lifetime of joint replacements

Fulín, Petr January 2016 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the introduction with the problems of high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) in orthopedics in the first part. It discusses the history, properties and processes that lead to the failure of UHMWPE joint replacement components. The experimental part validates the hypotheses expressed. It acquaints readers with the experimental verification of the effect of different types of sterilization on the oxidative stability of laboratory prepared samples and explanted UHMWPE joint replacement components using methods of infrared microscopy, electron spin resonance, mechanical tests and tests of microhardness. Other experimental measurements on a large set of explanted components of hip and knee total joint replacements validates the hypothesis that the amount of oxidative damage affects the lifespan of joint replacements. The third part of the experimental study maps the degree of oxidative damage in different places of the hip and knee joint replacements. In the final part we experimentally demonstrate the fact that the rate of oxidative damage has an effect on supramolecular structure of the UHMWPE. From the above experiments are concluded clearly defined recommendations for clinical practice, which should lead to extend the lifespan of total joints replacements in orthopaedics....

Tření a mazání kloubní chrupavky / Friction and lubrication of articular cartilage

Hilšer, Pavel January 2020 (has links)
The main goal of this diploma thesis is to determine the role of hyaluron acid and phospholipids on friction and lubrication of articular cartilage in regard to optimization of viscosupplements. This is carried out by measuring the coefficient of friction of the articular cartilage with several lubricants. Cartilage is lubricated particularly by a conventional viscosuplement, optimized viscosuplementation with phospholipids and model synovial fluid. In order to observe the function of those viscosuplements in the human body, both are mixed with the model synovial fluid, ubiquitous in human joints, in given ratio. Experiments revealed high friction when it comes to convectional viscosupplementation as opposed to low friction of the optimized viscosuplement with phospholipids. The same situation occurs when cartilage is lubricated with those viscosuplements mixed with model synovial fluid which might lead to development of a new, better, viscosupplementation based on hyaluron acid and phospholipids.

Identifikace kloubních struktur AS a jejich vlastností pomocí MRI a TVS před a po aplikaci manuální terapie / Identification of the cervical spine's meniscoids by MRI before and after aplication of manual therapy

Píglová, Tereza January 2018 (has links)
Introduction The joint dysfunction of the spine in the sense of functional blockade is connected with corresponding painful condition, reflex contraction of the surrounding muscles and restriction of mobility in the spinal segment. Joint block has its mechanical context, which need not be accompanied by a structural disturbance but it's affecting the biomechanical properties of the spine. Several theories exist how the joints become restricted. Scientific evidence highly supports the meniscoid entrapment theory. Purposes The aim of the study was to identify the meniscoids of the cervical spine using in- vivo MRI imaging and to determine their potential role in the development of functional joint blocks of the axial system (AS). Another objective was to find out how the articular blocks affect the rheological properties of the spine by the Transfer Vibration through the Spine (TVS) method. Patient sample The MRI study was conducted on a research file of 12 subjects - two anatomical preparations and ten in vivo. Two subjects were examined in TVS experiment. Methodology Two anatomical preparations were investigated on MRI to find the appropriate sequence for imaging of meniscoids, three subjects for identification of meniscoids in vivo. Seven subjects underwent initial investigation, manipulation of...
