This diploma is focused on consumer behaviour on the market of alcoholic beverages in the Czech Republic and the EU. The thesis deals with information on the development of consumption of alcoholic beverages, factors influencing consumption and consequent impacts of consumption. The database sources of WHO, Eurostat and CZSO were mainly used for the secondary analysis and for the primary analysis, questionnaire and in-depth interviews were made. The output of the thesis identifies the factors influencing individual consumption, evaluates its impacts and includes subsequent determination of measures to reduce consumption in the Czech Republic through marketing tools.

The theoretical part is focused on the main substances alcohol and methanol, next on the related topics methanol cases and related facts in criminology. Alimentární koncepty u dětí na základní škole / Alimentary concepts in schoolchildren

This thesis deals with children's concepts of food, especially with a focus on meat consumption and avoidance of consumption. It is an ethnographic study based on observations and interviews with children of the 4th grade of elementary school. The results are divided into four aspects of eating. The social aspect (1) deals with the sharing of food and with the social identity, the health aspect (2) examines children's concepts of the food's healthiness, the moral aspect (3) maps children's ethical considerations of meat consumption including legitimation and the cognitive aspect (4) discusses the cognitive issues of eating. Konzumace energy drinků u studentů na dvou vybraných středních školách / The consumption of energy drinks for students at two selected secondary schools

This diploma thesis examines the awareness of students in terms of the risks of energy consumption at two selected secondary schools in Prague according to the number of correct answers. Firstly, it deals with the description and composition of energy drinks in order to find out which substances they contain and how they can stimulate the body. It describes the origin of energy drinks and their development and impact on society and people. The composition of energy drinks is examined and the individual ingredients are inspected, including their effects. In case of objection, the positive effects of consumption are also examined along with consumption risks. The most important part of the thesis is to compare and evaluate the specific health impact on the consumption of energy drinks and the awareness of their effects. Not only is the health impact evaluated, but the social and economic impacts, advertising and the influence of famillial or social background are evaluated also. The main aim of the work was to examine the awareness of students in terms of the risks of energy consumption at two selected secondary schools in Prague according to the number of correct answers. Vliv alkoholu na paměť u seniorů / The influence of alcohol on memory in the elderly

Title: The influence of alcohol on memory in the elderly Objectives: To estimate association between alcohol consumption and memory in the elderly above 60 years of age. Methods: The master's thesis is a cross-sectional study. All data were acquired from the Survey of Health Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) project. For the purpose of this research, the participants were divided into four categories according to the highest acquired level of their education. For data analysis, Kruskal-Wallis Test and Mann-Whitney U test with Bonferoni's correction for post - hoc analysis were employed. The testing of participants involved immediate and delayed recall of 10 words. Results: In this research, a total of 36 534 participants were used. Out of this, 20 389 were females and 16 145 were males. In most categories, there were statistically significant differences in both tests, surprisingly preferring alcohol consumption (p<0.001). In males, who had problems with alcohol abuse during their life, the results of both tests were significantly worse (p<0.001). Conování jako praxe české komunity fanů / Conning as a practice of the Czech fan community

The topic of my thesis is conning in the Czech Republic. Conning stands for actions, which take place at conventions of fans of the fantasy genre called cons. Ethnographic study consist of two circuits. The first one focuses on cons, and their different aspects of realization, as well as services, including mechandising. The second on is dedicated to participants of this kind of event. The research focuses not only on their activity at conventions, but also reflects the consumption of the genre and partecipation of related activities. The theoretical part was based on the specialist literature. Theoretical bases served to define research questions. Methods used for data collection include participant observation, semi-structured ethnographic interviews, analysis of documents, informal and unstructured ethnographic interviews and questionnaires. Timeframe for data collection is the period from June 2015 to April 2016. For analysis were used the grounded theory principles, namely open and axial coding. The output is an paradigmatic model. Research identifies characteristic elements of conning in the Czech Republic, differences between domestic and foreign cons and experience of the participants. Rozdíly v kouření u žen a mužů - studentů JU. / Diference in smoking among women and men - students JU.

This diploma thesis consists from two substantial parts. Important information relating to smoking, specifically information about tobacco and its ways of consumption, smoking effects on womens and mens organism and the health in general, nicotinism and prevention in this case are translated in the theoretical part. The questionnaire was made in practical part and by using quantitave research it was found out the differences in smoking among women and men ? students at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Obtained dates were noted, evaluated and processed in programmes MS Word and Exel by using tables and graphs into the arranged form. By the research survey it was found out that among 254 respondents there was more mens smoker (48,03%) than womens smoker (48,13%). Also, it was showed that women (55,51%) are more informed about smoking effects and its harmfulness to the organism than men (36,61%). The difference between men and women was demonstrated also in the type of cigarettes which they smoke. Women prefer thin cigarettes to stronger cigarettes that are preferred by men. In the end of the work there is stated discussion and drawn conclusions relating to the issue of the diploma thesis.

This work focuses on research related to alcohol consumption of men and women students of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The purpose of my work is to find out what opinions/ experiences do the students have with alcoholic beverages. The main attention is aimed at these chapters: ethanol its production, properties and use, alcoholic beverages, effects on human organism, effect of ethanol in the blood and its elimination, alcohol addiction alcoholism, the consequences of alcohol addiction, the treatment of intoxication and prophylaxis. The applicative part includes prepared questionnaire and quantitative research dedicated to the target group of students of USB. The obtained data are compiled in spreadsheets, graphs and subsequently evaluated. The information is further analyzed in the discussion. The contribution of my work is located at the end.
