"A tak by měli všickni dělat". Konstrukce "společenství Čechů" ve vybraných cestopisných dílech Václava Matěje Krameria / "And so all should do." The Construction of the Czechs in Selected Travel Writings by Václav Matěj Kramerius

Fialka, Jiří January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to consider Kramerius not priori as a "national revivalist" but as a writer and a publisher. I am trying to point out that Kramerius can use and construct nationalism not only for the "general welfare" but also for his own needs. On the basis of this optics, the education of readers may also seem as an instruction how to become a good customer of Kramerius. As an umbrella term for the access to the sources - travel writings by Kramerius - I choose the New Historicism connecting the literature with historiography and emphasizing on the representation and the genre of the text. The purpose of this work is also to point out constructiveness a number of phenomena, which are often seen as objective. More than anything else, this work is the analysis of stereotypes. Keywords: Václav Matěj Kramerius, travel writings, nationalism, constructivism, the Czechs

The second part deals with the influences that shape the final content of Kramerius' Newspapers. Newspapers are seen as part of a broader discursive network. It is also the reader, who gets a word in a process of establishing the final content. Among other, this chapter focuses on the issue of creating a community of readers and the public sphere in Bohemia in the late 18th century as a preconditon for ethnic or even the national identity. The last part concentrates on specific topics in Kramerius' Newspapers, the reporting and processing techniques, which aim is to shape the reader and his view on observed events. The work ends with a statement that Kramerius' Newspapers by the content as well as form created a wider readership community, which maintained a certain social ties and also shared a certain form of the public sphere. However, the analysis of themes and data processing techniques revealed the boundaries of this community. The community can not...

Karasová, Ivana January 2014 (has links)
This master thesis deals with the spiritual progress pointing to a national self-awareness in the Enlightenment era from the beginning until 1848. The Enlightenment is an European phenomenon, which is characterized by a change of thinking, and self-awareness. This idea of tolerance and human emancipation contributed to the reforms of fundamental social, political and ecclesiastical changes. These changes result not only from a philosophical influences, but also from royal reforms during the reign of Maria Theresa and Joseph II in particular. The Teresian enlightened Catholicism and Josephinian reformism fully started the journey from the Enlightenment to liberalism. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
