The diploma thesis focuses on brownfield sites and their possible redevelopment or reuse. The author of this thesis has chosen a place in Dvůr Králové nad Labem. It is a compound of former textile enterprise TIBA. The compound is an underused and defunct place which contains industrial waste. There is a smokestack which is eighty metres tall and a tank tower. Both of them have an influence on the city appearance.Graphic output in the form of situations, schemes, cuts and visualization can be found in the analytical and design part. The thesis presents visual and architectonic study which deals with new function of buildings and their interstices. The thesis looks into town planning, social, art and historical aspects of the compounds. Instead of the abondoned factory complex, the new public premises which have great tourist appeal are presented. The place should become a new cultural centre of the town where people can work and relax.

The aim of this thesis is to create an analysis of cultural and social life in the city Roudnice nad Labem at times of the so called normalization period to which the company Roudnické strojírny a slévárny n. p. was really instrumental. The thesis is focused not only on the cultural and social options of the factory workers, but on all the city residents at that time. Content of the thesis is divided into four parts. The first describes the company's cooperation with the Spojený závodní klub. The second part analyzes the developement of sport activity throughout the city. The third part deals with the events organized exclusively by the company itself, while the fourth part is focused on the recreational opportunities provided by the company to its employees and their families. This part also deals with the issue of social life and free time of those, who participated in recreation. The content of this thesis is the analysis of the Integrated Urban Development Plans in the Czech Republic, which is then particulary demonstrated on the example of Ustí nad Labem. The regional capital has now initiated the creation of three Integrated Urban Development Plans, two of them have a zone character -- IUDP Center and IUDP Nestemice -- Mojzir settlement, and one with a thematic orientation on the transportation -- IUDP Mobility. In the theoretical part is the urban dimension of Cohesion Policy discussed, followed by its form and metodology in the Czech Republic. The specific IUDPs of Usti nad Labem are subsequently summarized in the practical part which is focused on the application of the documents, the evaluation of the actual interconnection of projects and find new starting points for the next programming period

Renaissance arcades typology of royal architectural works in Bohemia around 1550 A.D. Kostelec nad Černými Lesy, Poděbrady, Brandýs nad Labem. Chateaux owned by ruler Ferdinand I. and situated outside of Prague served as a hunting residences. The buildings became king's property in the 1540th . Various reasons for rebuilding led to conversion from gothic castles to comfortable renaissance chateaux. Renaissance appearance of chateaux with an emphasis on the form of courtyards and arcade's corridors are the main topic of this thesis. Types of arcades are examined on three selected buildings, chateaux in Brandýs nad Labem, Kostelec nad Černými Lesy and Poděbrady. For entire overview of morphology used in renaissance arcades passages it is important to point out noble mansions in whose courts the arcade's corridors were used as well. This thesis specifically attempts to bring the analogy to the selected buildings in the Czech environment and also in foreign countries. The examples in the treatises and the inspiration for certain types of arcades from Antique to the Renaissance period are also reminded.

The introductory chapter fills a completely blank space concerning the history, organisation and spirituality of the Order of the Discalced Augustinians in the Czech context. The existing literature has so far only briefly outlined this topic; however, it cannot be explored with no knowledge of the 20th -century professional Italian research works or the preserved resources produced by the General Curia in Rome and the 18th century literature of the Order. The thesis also provides a general overview of the activities of the Czech mon­ asteries of the Discalced Augustinians in the period context, also reflecting the in­ fluence of the Order on the spiritual and cultural life of the laymen, an influence which, as regards the monastery in Lnare, extends into the early 20th century. The extant resources have helped to describe relations between the members of the Order and the outside world, be it the links to the local clergy or laymen, espe­ cially burghers and nobility or its dependants. The relationship between the famil­ ies who financed the foundation of the two latest monasteries (Lnare and Lysa nad Labem) and the monastic community is the focus of specific attention. The thesis deals with soils of the middle Elbe floodplain. Basic information about the development of Elbe floodplain is focused on the middle Elbe region. The aim of the thesis is to capture the floodplain development in the area of interest, including the description and comparison of soils at different transects in surroundings of Kostelec nad Labem. For this purpose several transects from the historical Elbe canalisation documentation were chosen. Additional to this, small soil survey was carried out at identical locations in 2013. Obtained information was confronted and evaluated.

This thesis deals with archaeological tourism in the Ústí nad Labem region. Based on scientific literature, the general issues of archeology and tourism are analyzed. The result of this analysis points to the fact, that there are a lot of archaeological tourist destinations in this region. The most attractive ones are presented in this thesis in the form of a tour guide intended for the general public. An opinion poll was coducted as part of the thesis. Based on the poll we can assume that the general awareness of archeology and archaeological tourist destinations in the Ústí region is at an average level. It is safe to say that the public attitude towards archeology is generally positive. Czech castles are especially popular among the archaeological tourist destinations. The most convenient public presentation of archaeological sites is by using information boards with brief descriptions and vivid illustrations. The vast majority of interviewees indicated that they would welcome a higher degree of presentation of historical monuments in the Ústí nad Labem region - for example through a dedicated website. The aim of this thesis was to create a new communications strategy for the athletics meeting called Grand Prix Ústí nad Labem, thereby ensuring greater participation of the audience. The first part of this thesis is focused on the theoretical background with an emphasis on marketing communication and it's differences in the focus on sport and the development of effective communication using the tools of the communication mix. The second part of this work is devoted to the history and present of the athletics in Ústí nad Labem and the history of Grand Prix Ústí nad Labem. The third part of this thesis describes the current operation of the athletic meeting, it's organizational structure and financial aspects of the existing communication strategy. The fourth part is the actual research conducted through questionnaires. The results of the survey and additional outputs from SPSS helped to create the fifth part, the part which is designed to refocus the athletic meeting communication strategy -- billboards, tickets, TV commercials, to improve Internet and Internet forums communications, etc., which should help increase public participation in the actual Grand Prix meeting Ústí nad Labem.

Nowadays brownfields objects matter not only in major industrial cities, but also in small settlements and rural areas. Even there are abandonned and dilapidated agricultural areas, farms and other buildings as a result of declining employment rate in the primary sector, growing interest in the service sector or increasing import of agricultural production. Abandonned buildings induce a negative aesthetic appearance of the landscape and disrupt the quality of life of residents nearby.
