Discuss the International Merging Activities in Human Resource Management Point of View-According to the Case of TFT-LCD Industry at Taiwan and JapanYang, Lih-Shine 09 February 2004 (has links)
First of all, we put an emphasis on the global market status of TFT-LCD,
which is also our government¡¦s most important economic investment in the near future.
We think it is necessary for Taiwan cooperating with Japan to reach the global No.1 place
in TFT-LCD industry since Japan initiates and masters many related technologies.
A-Company; however, gets such right chance for multinational combination
by taking good use of some key factors¡Xorganization integration, communication
and human resources management.
Because TFT-LCD products get short-lasting life and fast-advancing technology,
A-Company must be greatly expanding its investment annually.
Although the company has independent technologies,
it still has to rapidly enhance its competitiveness on global purchase,
global distribution and global service through making cooperation
with other technical corporations. Thus, how to take advantage of both companies¡¦ interior resources
to create even more high values is meaningful to A-Company.
This research shows that organization integration,
personal factors, organization promises and individual defense will affect merger achievements.
We design a questionnaire and use SPSS for quantification analysis
to strengthen the reliability and validity of our research. Lastly,
we bring out the final results and conclusions for A-Company reference.
According to the questionnaire we find out that,
A-Company employees think the high-level managers play quite an important role
in the organization integration; their communication and expression on human resource management
will directly affect merger achievements.
Nevertheless, the company seems not participate in the consolidating planning
before combination and not elaborate on the communication after that which leads
it into negative effects after combination. From this, we deeply realize
that ¡§Manpower¡¨ is the most emphasized resource for consolidating business.
Our conclusion is that many failure factors of overseas or domestic combination business
are also applied to TFT-LCD Company, and therefore,
we think that the success factors during its merger can be imitated by other industries
as well. Anyhow, it¡¦s a real pity for A-Company¡¦s not taking good application
to academic researches and some successful measures from other business.
In sum, there are not only multinational cooperation
but also multicultural races merging in the special TFT-LCD industry
which reveals a fact that the affiliation of academia will speed up this industry¡¦s growth.

Low Voltage Differential Signaling TransceiverHuang, Jian-Ming 26 July 2004 (has links)
We propose two kinds of 1.0 Gbps LVDS ( low voltage differential signaling ) transceivers for LCD ( liquid crystal display ) in this thesis. LVDS has become a popular choice for high-speed serial links in large-sized display units. Our designs are an I/O interface circuit for Gbps operation which is fully complied with the IEEE STD 1596.3 (LVDS). A step-down voltage regulator is employed to reject the noise coupled in the system power supply. In the first design of the transmitter, a CMFB (common mode feedback) circuitry is utilized to stabilize the common voltage in a pre-defined range. In the second design of the transmitter, we try to use a DC bias circuitry to stabilize output common mode voltage to further improve the stability of the common mode voltage. By contrast, a regenerative circuit which provides a positive feedback loop gain between the preamplifier and the output buffer in the receiver such that the received bit streams can be correctly restored

Simulation of mico-lens array for LED lightingLin, Ming-Cheng 30 January 2008 (has links)
Recently liquid-crystal display (LCD) has the highest output value and most popular usage of flat panel display in monitor. The advantage of LCD is low electric quantity consumption, light quantity and thin thickness. LCD has substituted for the traditional screen monitor. The back light module, color filter and actuation IC are three major cost structures in LCD. The optical film is the most used structure in back light module, which is used to increase brightness, luminate evenly the panel and prove illuminant efficiency. The liquid crystal does not irradiate, therefore, the back light module is accessory of liquid crystal display, especially the LCD has advanced the size over 60 inches dimensions. When the panel enhances its size, the cost of back light module correspondently increase, even achieve to 50%. The importance of back light module in LCD can be understood. This study is to develop an innovation of gapless compound polygonal micro-lens. The manufacturing process includes lithography, reflow, electroforming and hot embossing technologies. Also the TracePro software is applied to facilitate the design. LED is used as the illuminant without diaphragm simulation. It enables the optical film to achieve an optimum condition. Using the gap optical film, we need to apply 3~4 pieces in the back light module. When we use the gapless optical film to make film to increase largely the light efficiency, we expect to use 1~2 pieces in the back light module. In this case it can reduce the cost and promote the competition of the domestic manufacturer.

Studies of polarization-independent Fresnel liquid crystal lensHuang, Shian-Yi 24 July 2008 (has links)
This study proposes a polarization-independent liquid-crystal Fresnel lens using the twisted nematic liquid crystal (TN-LC). At the high voltage state, the TN-LC behaves as an optically anisotropic material which makes the proposed LC Fresnel lens possess a polarization-insensitive characteristic. Two kinds of LC Fresnel lens, photoresist type and patterned electrodes type, are prepared in our experiment. Experimental results reveal that the photoresist type has a high diffraction efficiency and a good polarization-independent characteristic. However, its diffraction efficiency cannot be switched off. Contrarily, the patterned electrode type has the characteristics of the switch-off and good polarization-independent with a moderate diffraction efficiency

Performance Evaluation of Treating Optoelectronic Industrial Wastewaters by a Simultaneous Electrocoagulation/Electrofiltration Process Using Multi-Tubular TiO2/Al2O3 Composite MembranesYen, Chia-Heng 27 August 2008 (has links)
Water is essential for life as well as industrial growth. Therefore, this research is mainly to explore the treatment capacity of LCD (Liguid Crystal Display) industrial wastewater recycling by a simultaneous electrocoagulation/electrofiltration (EC/EF) process using laboratory-prepared multi-tubular TiO2/Al2O3 composite membranes.
First, tubular membrane supports of Al2O3 were prepared by the extrusion method. Then the slip composed of nanoscale TiO2 (prepared by sol-gel process) was applied on the aforementioned tubular membrane supports by the dip-coating method, followed by sintering to obtain tubular TiO2/Al2O3 composite membranes. Then, two types of LCD industrial wastewaters (designated TFT-LCD wastewater and STN-LCD wastewater, respectively) from different LCD fabrication plants were treated by EC/EF process using TiO2/Al2O3 composite membranes. Moreover, the permeate qualities were evaluated under the recirculation-mode operation. In addition, the effects of different operating parameters (i.e., electric field strength, trans-membrane pressure, and crossflow velocity) on membrane flux and permeate quality were evaluated. Relations of the water quality and the different operation modes (i.e., the recirculation mode, flow-through mode, and secondary treatment mode) were also discussed. Finally, the effects of changing the backwash time and backwash cycle on membrane flux were investigated.
In the recirculation mode, both kinds of wastewater achieved a satisfactory organics and anion removal. An average of about 90¢H of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and TKN (Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen) could be removed. For anions (i.e., NO3¡Ð, NO2¡Ð, Cl¡Ð and SO42¡Ð), their removal efficiencies were all over 90%. Furthermore, TOC (Total Organic Carbon) and turbidity also had removal efficiencies of over 98%. When the operation mode was changed from the recirculation mode to flow-through mode, the changes of permeate quality were not obvious. But the cumulative quantity of permeate of the flow-through mode was greater than that of the recirculation mode. As for the experimental result of the secondary treatment mode, the permeate qualities were found to be improved. In this case, an average removal of over 95% of NO3¡Ð, NO2¡Ð, Cl¡Ð, and SO42¡Ð could be obtained.
According to experimental results shown above, the treated water could be recycled and reused as the cooling tower make-up water if its pH and conductivity values were reduced. However, these problems could be easily resolved by proper adjustments of pH. Overall speaking, the tubular TiO2/Al2O3 composite membranes and simultaneous EC/EF treatment module employed in this work are capable of treating LCD industrial wastewater for the purpose of reclamation.

Quantifiable research cluster effect: the diamond modelLiu, Chun-kuang 26 June 2009 (has links)
Micheal Porter ¡§the country competitive advantage which¡¨ publishes in 1990 (The Competitive Advantage of Nations) in a book, proposed the industrial cluster the strong character which acts in the national competitive power, ¡§scientific and technical park¡¨ the idea is also the industrial cluster concept derivation to a certain extent. In the past concentrated in the industrial cluster's research in the metropolis plan study and the regional economies domain, few had the management science stratification plane discussion, after 1990 Micheal Porter publication diamond model (Diamond Structure model), grew the industrial cluster's research to further management stratification plane in and so on enterprise's strategy, competition, market demand and industrial structure subjects. However, Porter in the diamond model, had not mentioned how to compare and appraise between the different cluster the cluster effect height, is also lacks a set to be possible the quantification model.
In order to solve in the Porter diamond model to lack the quantification model the question, this research application analogism, quotes Newton (1687) the law of universal gravitation which proposed in "Natural philosophy's Mathematics Principle" to take the analogy, develops the cluster relative effect the comparison model, explained why during different essential factor in an industrial settlement's will have the cohesion phenomenon, will form the cluster effect finally. In this study, Central and Southern Taiwan Science Park's TFT-LCD industry as the research object, evaluation of these two science parks in the TFT-LCD industry cluster effect on the merits, to verify the model's feasibility in real life.
In the final results, will be the evaluation of the scores of small movements do multiply, the two parks, the Southern Taiwan Science Park to obtain higher scores, it can be said that the Southern Taiwan Science Park, TFT-LCD industry cluster effect higher. By Porter in the diamond model's five big essential factor classification, in ¡§factor of conditions¡¨ and ¡§related and supporting industry¡¨ in these two essential factors, the Southern Taiwan Science Park was in the upper hand; In ¡§demand condition¡¨ and ¡§firm strategy, structure and rivalry¡¨ on, is the Central Taiwan Science Park holds the superiority; As for in last item ¡§government and opportunity¡¨ in the comparison, two campuses are equally matched. Finally, also at the Central Taiwan Science Park and Southern Taiwan Science Park development on the current problems faced by comment, I hope the next government as a policy planning in the industrial park on the proposal, which is newly developed in this study "cluster can be quantified effect model "where the ultimate goal.

Taiwan's TFT-LCD equipment industry competitive analysisHo, Feng-lin 06 August 2009 (has links)
Japan and Korean¡¦s TFT-LCD industries consider the competitiveness of the cost. So their proportion of local equipment setting is more popular than Taiwan.Instead, Taiwan¡¦s equipment industries development priority need to increase the number of productions by new equipment and shorten the lead time and achieve the high quality of productions. However, TFT-LCD factories can save the cost of investment and raise the investment efficiency of operating cost to improve the ROI (Return On Investment).
This thesis compares and analyzes the competitiveness of the industry in TFT-LCD equipment among Taiwan, Japan and Korea. In the Porter¡¦s (1990) book ¡§The ompetitive Advantage of Nations¡¨ that mentioned about the ¡§Diamond Structure¡¨. So, we have to nalyzeand realize totally at the industry of the equipment¡¦s inside factor with six aspects ¡§ Demand Conditions¡¨, ¡§Firm Strategy, Structure and Rivalry¡¨, ¡§Factor Conditions¡¨ and ¡§Related and Supporting Industries¡¨ and the other outside factors ¡§Government¡¨ and ¡§Opportunity¡¨. The research of this paper shows that how the equipment industries of Taiwan use their own resources and competition advantages to compete with Japan country which quite maturity in TFT-LCD equipments. And Korea country with strong support by their government, for this reason, they can earn their own stage and further surpasses the others among the intense of competition industries. Therefore, widely collecting research paper, industry's news, specialized periodical and interviewing the important grades of personages of related industrial by the questionnaire, with that results. Then we can understand Korea and Japan¡¦s TFT-LCD equipment industry's mpetitiveness deeply. At the end, we can put forward the conclusion and suggestions by these studies and we can take it for our references on industry's development strategy of the equipment and afford the suggestion of consulting to our government's policy for Taiwan.
