Thus, in this area in which service is one of the factors intrinsically related to its success , it is observed the need for people with deep and critical training in the various aspects of this activity acting in this sector. However, we can see the existence of some differences between what is offered by the academy from what is required by the market. Therefore, the objective of this research is to verify the relationship between higher education in Tourism and labor market through the perception of the bachelor in this area, graduated in Natal-RN, since it is the tourismologist who makes the link between this two fields. To know the perception of these tourismologists, it was necessary to apply a questionnaire to those ones graduated in the years 2009 and 2010. In accordance with the aim of this study, this research was exploratory-descriptive. Related to the technical procedures, it was a documentary, literature and field research. To have it analyzed, some qualitative and quantitative techniques were applied according to our specific objectives and the types of data collected, such as: content analysis, factorial analysis to synthesize the information and identify the basic dimensions that represent the different variables studied, the standard deviation to verify the variation of the responses in some items and the correlation technique that allows the analysis of the relationship between two variables. In response to the objectives proposed here, we could finally conclude that: the syllabuses of these courses are too general and the graduates themselves consider them so. It was diagnosed that the graduates 1) are mostly female, 2) a very small part of them is working in the area that they are graduated in, and 3) not all of them receive satisfactory wages which contributes to having a negative view of their degree course. Moreover, the educational institution where they studied was not a decisive factor to get a job. It was still diagnosed that most part of them do not have positive perceptions when thinking about the future of their careers as bachelors in Tourism. Many of them, including, if it was possible to change something in their careers so far, they could have chosen another college degree. It was found that, although there is a negative perception about their professional future, almost half of them believe that the course met the needs of the market. However, those ones that are not working have a more positive point of view related to the applicability of higher education. On the other hand, the other ones who already worked in this area have a more negative perception about it and do not believe that the course meets the market's needs. In summary, this study allowed the understanding of the existence of some gaps that exist between higher education in Tourism and the market needs, professionally speaking, thus contributing to the spreading of ideas on that subject for teachers, researchers and the current and future students of the area. / O processo de desenvolvimento de qualquer ?rea est? estreitamente ligado ao ensino e ? pesquisa, e no Turismo n?o ? diferente. Dessa forma, nessa ?rea na qual a presta??o de servi?os ? um dos fatores intrinsecamente relacionados ao seu sucesso , percebe-se a necessidade de pessoas com forma??o cr?tica e mais aprofundada nos diversos aspectos da atividade atuando no setor. Por?m, nota-se a exist?ncia de diferen?as entre o que ? oferecido pela academia e o que ? exigido pelo mercado. Assim sendo, constitui objetivo desta pesquisa, verificar a rela??o entre o ensino superior em Turismo e o mercado de trabalho na percep??o do bacharel na ?rea formado na cidade de Natal-RN, posto que ? o turism?logo quem faz o elo entre os dois campos. Para conhecimento da percep??o dos turism?logos foi necess?rio realizar a aplica??o de um question?rio com os egressos formados nos anos de 2009 e 2010. Em conformidade com o objetivo desse estudo, a pesquisa foi explorat?rio-descritiva. Quanto aos procedimentos t?cnicos, tratou-se de uma pesquisa documental, bibliogr?fica e de campo. Para an?lise, foram aplicadas t?cnicas qualitativas e quantitativas, conforme os objetivos espec?ficos e os tipos de dados coletados, tais como: an?lise de conte?do, an?lise fatorial para sintetizar as informa??es e identificar as dimens?es b?sicas que representam as diversas vari?veis estudadas, desvio-padr?o para verificar a varia??o das respostas em alguns itens e a t?cnica de correla??o que permite fazer an?lises de rela??o entre duas vari?veis. Como resposta aos objetivos propostos pode-se concluir que: as matrizes curriculares dos cursos em atividade s?o generalistas e os pr?prios egressos as consideram assim. Foi diagnosticado que os egressos 1) s?o, em sua maioria, do sexo feminino, 2) uma pequena parte deles est? trabalhando na ?rea em que se formou e 3) nem todos recebem sal?rios satisfat?rios o que contribui para que tenham uma vis?o negativa do curso. Ademais, a IES onde estudaram n?o foi fator decis?rio para conseguir um emprego. Foi diagnosticado, ainda, que a maioria destes n?o t?m percep??o positiva quando pensam no futuro profissional enquanto bachar?is em Turismo. Muitos, inclusive, se pudessem mudar algo em sua trajet?ria at? o momento, teriam optado por outro curso superior. Foi verificado que embora exista uma percep??o negativa quanto ao futuro profissional, quase metade acredita que o curso atendeu ?s necessidades do mercado. Todavia, os que n?o est?o trabalhando tiveram uma vis?o mais positiva com rela??o a aplicabilidade do ensino superior. Por outro lado, os que j? trabalharam na ?rea tem uma vis?o mais negativa e n?o acreditam que o curso atenda ?s necessidades do mercado. Em suma, este estudo permitiu a compreens?o da exist?ncia de algumas lacunas que existem entre o ensino superior em Turismo e as necessidades do mercado, no ?mbito profissional, contribuindo ainda para a dissemina??o de ideias sobre o referido assunto para os professores, pesquisadores e os atuais e futuros estudantes da ?rea.

INCRA, BNB in the project of Agenda 21. They are members and participants, constituents of the Permanent Forum of Agenda 21, the main actor privileged in the search. As an object of study to identify the limits and scope of this practice, with regard to aspects of awareness / participation and awaken to an awareness of critical social subjects in the collective social and environmental perspective. The study seeks to investigate if this experience has allowed the individual and collective social subjects, understand and act in their daily life, as the changes in attitudes postures, and expand their interests to participate in various public spaces this intention, is considered the educational activities made with the principles of environmental education in the construction of Agenda 21 that have contributed in raising awareness / participation of social actors of the Permanent Forum of Agenda 21. LOGO2VHDL : modelos descritos em VHDL a partir da linguagem do LOGO!Soft Comfort da Siemens /

Resumo: Neste trabalho é apresentada uma ferramenta de tradução, que converte sistemas de controle descritos na linguagem de automação LOGO!Soft, para um modelo VHDL correspondente. O software desenvolvido, denominado "LOGO2VHDL", contém funções básicas e especiais disponíveis no LOGO!Soft. Nesta ferramenta, o usuário acostumado em programar o CLP LOGO!Soft pode facilmente obter uma descrição VHDL cujo modelo funcional, pode ser sintetizado, no ambiente QUARTUS II da Altera. Este trabalho teve como objetivo principal estudar uma nova metodologia, que visa o emprego de dispositivos lógicos programáveis (PLDs) como uma forma alternativa ao emprego dos controladores lógicos programáveis (CLPs) no controle automatizado de processos. A ferramenta foi avaliada através de estudos de casos descrevendo sistemas de controle simples e complexos. Em todos os casos, os resultados das simulações mostram a viabilidade desta nova abordagem em automatizar sistemas de controle. / Abstract: In this work it is presented a translation tool that converts control systems described in the automation language LOGO!Sof, for a model corresponding VHDL. The developed software, denominated "LOGO2VHDL", contains basic and special functions available in LOGO!Soft. In this tool, the accustomed user in programming the CLP LOGO!Soft can easily obtain a description VHDL whose functional model can be synthecized in the environment QUARTUS II of the Altera. This work had as main objective to study a new methodology that seeks the employment of programmable logical devices (PLDs) as an alternative form to the programmable logical controllers' employment (CLPs) in the automated control of processes. The tool was evaluated through studies of cases describing simple and complex control systems. Uso do GPR na gera??o de modelos est?ticos 3D para o planejamento de lavra de minerais pesados depositados em dunas e?licas

This company is located in the north end of the paraiban coast, in the municipal district of Mataraca. Millennium has as main prospected product, heavy minerals as ilmenita, rutilo and zircon presents in the sands of the dunes. These dunes are predominantly inactive, and overlap the superior portion of Barreiras Formation rocks. The mining happens with the use of a dredge that is emerged at an artificial lake on the dunes. This dredge removes sand dunes of the bottom lake (after it disassembles of the lake borders with water jets) and directs for the concentration plant, through piping where the minerals are then separate. The present work consisted in the acquisition external geometries of the dunes, where in the end a 3D Static Model could be set up of these sedimentary deposits with emphasis in the behavior of the structural top of Barreiras Formation rocks (inferior limit of the deposit). The knowledge of this surface is important in the phase of the plowing planning for the company, because a calculation mistake can do with that the dredge works too close of this limit, taking the risk that fragments can cause obstruction in the dredge generating a financial damage so much in the equipment repair as for the stopped days production. During the field stages (accomplished in 2006 and 2007) topographical techniques risings were used with Total Station and Geodesic GPS as well as shallow geophysical acquisitions with GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar). It was acquired almost 10,4km of topography and 10km of profiles GPR. The Geodesic GPS was used for the data geopositioning and topographical rising of a traverse line with 630m of extension in the stage of 2007. The GPR was shown a reliable method, ecologically clean, fast acquisition and with a low cost in relation to traditional methods as surveys. The main advantage of this equipment is obtain a continuous information to superior surface Barreiras Formation rocks. The static models 3D were elaborated starting from the obtained data being used two specific softwares for visualization 3D: GoCAD 2.0.8 and Datamine. The visualization 3D allows a better understanding of the Barreiras surface behavior as well as it makes possible the execution of several types of measurements, favoring like calculations and allowing that procedures used for mineral extraction is used with larger safety / Este projeto foi desenvolvido como forma de uma parceria entre o Laborat?rio de An?lises Estratigr?ficas do Departamento de Geologia da UFRN e a empresa Millennium Inorganic Chemicals Minera??o Ltda. Esta mina localiza-se no extremo norte do litoral paraibano, no munic?pio de Mataraca, tendo como principal produto prospectado, minerais pesados como ilmenita, rutilo e zirc?o presentes nas areias das dunas. Tais dunas, predominantemente inativas, repousam sobre a por??o superior das rochas silicicl?sticas da Forma??o Barreiras. A minera??o se d? atrav?s do uso de uma draga que fica emersa em um lago artificial sobre as dunas. Esta retira a areia das dunas do fundo do lago (ap?s o desmonte das bordas do lago com jatos de ?gua) e encaminha para a planta de concentra??o, atrav?s de tubula??es onde os minerais s?o ent?o separados. O presente trabalho consistiu na aquisi??o das geometrias externa e interna das dunas, de forma que ao final se pudesse montar um Modelo Est?tico 3D destes dep?sitos sedimentares, com ?nfase no comportamento do topo estrutural das rochas da Forma??o Barreiras (limite inferior da jazida). O conhecimento detalhado desta superf?cie ? de fundamental import?ncia na fase do planejamento da lavra pela empresa, visto que um erro de c?lculo pode fazer com que a draga trabalhe pr?ximo demais deste limite, correndo o risco de que fragmentos possam causar obstru??o na draga gerando um preju?zo financeiro tanto no reparo do equipamento como pelos dias parados de produ??o. Durante as etapas de campo (realizadas nos anos de 2006 e 2007) foram utilizadas t?cnicas de levantamentos topogr?ficos com Esta??o Total e GPS Geod?sico bem como aquisi??es geof?sicas rasas com GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar). Foram adquiridos aproximadamente 10,5Km de topografia e 10Km de perfis GPR. O GPS Geod?sico foi utilizado para o georreferenciamento dos dados e levantamento topogr?fico de uma linha transversal com 630m de extens?o na etapa de 2007. O GPR mostrou-se um m?todo confi?vel, ecologicamente limpo, de r?pida aquisi??o e com um baixo custo em rela??o a m?todos tradicionais como sondagens. A principal vantagem do uso deste equipamento ? obter uma informa??o cont?nua da superf?cie superior da Forma??o Barreiras. These carbonate deposits occur in the Quixer? region, Cear? State (NE Brazil), on the western border of the Potiguar Basin. Collapsed paleocaves are exposed along a state road, which were selected to this study. We chose a portion of the called Quixer? outcrop for making a photomosaic and caring out a GPR test section to compare and parameterize the karst geometries on the geophysical line. The results were satisfactory and led to the adoption of criteria for the interpretation of others GPR sections acquired in the region of the Quixer? outcrop. Two grids of GPR lines were acquired; the first one was wider and more spaced and guided the location of the second grid, denser and located in the southern part of the outcrop. The radargrams of the second grid reveal satisfactorily the collapsed paleocaves geometries. For each grid has been developed a digital solid model of the Quixer? outcrop. The first model allows the recognition of the general distribution and location of collapsed paleocaves in tufa deposits, while the second more detailed digital model provides not only the 3D individualization of the major paleocaves, but also the estimation of their respective volumes. The digital solid models are presented here as a new frontier in the study of analog outcrops to reservoirs (for groundwater and hydrocarbon), in which the volumetric parameterization and characterization of geological bodies become essential for composing the databases, which together with petrophysical properties information, are used in more realistic computer simulations for sedimentary reservoirs. / Nesse trabalho s?o apresentados os procedimentos metodol?gicos envolvidos no imageamento digital de paleocavernas colapsadas em tufas carbon?ticas que ocorrem na borda oeste da Bacia Potiguar com GPR. Foi mapeada uma ?rea em Quixer? (CE) e selecionado um afloramento em um corte de estrada, denominado de Afloramento Quixer?. Foi escolhida uma por??o deste afloramento para confec??o de um fotomosaico e levantamento de uma se??o-teste com o GPR para a compara??o e parametriza??o das geometrias c?rsticas aflorantes e imageadas na linha geof?sica. Os resultados foram satisfat?rios e permitiram a ado??o de crit?rios para a interpreta??o das paleocavernas colapsadas em outras se??es GPR, levantadas na regi?o do afloramento. Foram adquiridas duas malhas de linhas GPR, a primeira mais ampla e espa?ada norteou a loca??o da segunda, mais adensada, na por??o sul do Afloramento Quixer?. Nos radargramas foram interpretadas e parametrizadas as geometrias das principais paleocavernas colapsadas. Para cada malha foi elaborado um modelo de s?lido digital do Afloramento Quixer?, sendo que o primeiro modelo permitiu o reconhecimento da distribui??o geral das tufas e a localiza??o das paleocavernas colapsadas, enquanto o segundo modelo digital, por ser mais detalhado, possibilitou n?o apenas a individualiza??o 3D das principais paleocavernas, mas tamb?m o c?lculo dos seus respectivos volumes. Os modelos de s?lidos digitais s?o aqui apresentados como uma nova fronteira no estudo de afloramentos an?logos a reservat?rios (h?dricos ou petrol?feros), na qual a parametriza??o e a caracteriza??o volum?trica dos corpos geol?gicos passam a ser fundamental para compor bancos de dados, que conjuntamente com informa??es de propriedades petrof?sicas s?o utilizados em simula??es computacionais mais real?sticas de reservat?rios.

A escola foi previamente escolhida em virtude de j? ter sido l?cus de pesquisa em estudo realizado por um docente da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte e favorecer o conhecimento de suas necessidades formativas. A an?lise dos dados evidenciou oito di?logos (FREIRE, 1994; 1997) constru?dos com a Escola Estadual Despertar, sendo basilares as contribui??es sobre estigma de Goffman (1988) e cultura escolar (FORQUIN, 1993). Como aporte te?rico foram importantes as contribui??es sobre o Curr?culo Escolar (SACRIST?N, 2000; 2007, APPLE, 2006; 2008), Inclus?o Escolar (BUENO; 2008, GLAT; PLETSCH, 2011), Forma??o Continuada (N?VOA, 2002) e os estudos existentes acerca das interlocu??es entre Curr?culo e Educa??o Especial (MAGALH?ES, 2002; SILVA, 2008; 2010, OLIVEIRA, 2004; VIEIRA, 2012.). O estudo evidenciou a import?ncia de alargar os di?logos, aprofundamento te?rico do GCEI para a compreens?o do curr?culo escolar e as especificidades de quaisquer estudantes, tenham ou n?o defici?ncia. Faz-se imprescind?vel revisitar as pr?ticas escolares de ensino que n?o correspondem aos estudantes, a exemplo das enturma??es realizadas nas salas de aula. Todavia, pequenas, por?m significativas mudan?as identificadas nas pr?ticas de alguns professores, a exemplo da utiliza??o da audiodescri??o, de est?mulos ? participa??o dos estudantes com defici?ncia e uso de imagens, favoreceram ao desenvolvimento de outros estudantes ao se beneficiar de aulas mais instigantes e participativas. Com base na pesquisa realizada conclu?mos sobre a import?ncia em discutir condi??es para/na escolariza??o de diferentes estudantes e o (re) pensar das pr?ticas curriculares na escola como um todo e nisso reside um paradoxo, pois se por um lado n?o se trata de minimizar o conhecimento espec?fico no trato das necessidades de estudantes com defici?ncia, por outro lado, tampouco interessa-nos distanciar tais necessidades daquelas inerentes ? natureza humana, portanto peculiares aos demais estudantes. A problematiza??o de nossas pr?prias pr?ticas ? o desafio que se imp?e, n?o ? educa??o especial, ou ao seu p?blico alvo, mas essa ? incontestavelmente tarefa da educa??o. / This work of qualitative approach, has as its study object the school curriculum, resulting from the implementation of public policies for inclusion in the Brazilian educational field and of the teaching organization in State School Despertar. While we acknowledge advances in government discussions and proposals related to school inclusion in our country, it is still important to develop studies and interventions in the context of basic education focused on the curriculum. With methodological basis in collaborative-critical action research and contribution by Barbier, the survey was conducted in 2013, in a state school in the Natal - Rio Grande do Norte - school system, and aimed to analyze the curriculum of the State School Despertar, in particular issues related to the inclusion of students with disabilities in common teaching classes expressed in the school and in collective situations of continuing education with teachers and interpreter of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). The school was previously chosen because it had already been locus of research in a study conducted by a professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte promoting the knowledge of their formative needs. The study subjects were 26 teachers in the early years and the end of elementary school and a Libras interpreter. The instruments were direct observation, semi-structured interviews, document analysis and a proposal for continuing education called Collaborative Group on School Inclusion (GCEI), established with the participating subjects and the other research collaborators. The analyzed data showed eight dialogues built with the State School Despertar, being basic the contributions of Goffman (1988) on stigma and of Forquin (1993) on school culture. As a theoretical framework, there were important contributions on School Curriculum (SACRIST?N, 2000; 2007; APPLE, 2006; 2008), School Inclusion (BUENO, 2008), Continuing Education (N?VOA, 2002; GATTI, 2003) and the existing studies on the dialogues between Curriculum and Special Education (MAGALH?ES, 2002; SILVA, 2008; 2010; OLIVEIRA, 2004; VIEIRA, 2012). The study highlighted the importance of extending the dialogue, the theoretical deepening of GCEI for the understanding of school curriculum and the specifics of any students, with or without disability. It will be necessary to revisit the school teaching practices that do not correspond to the students, for instance the formation of classes made in classrooms. It is also important to consider the organization of the school day and its interface with the pedagogical functions of each member of the school in building curriculum practices consistent with the diversity of modes and learning styles. Subliminal aspects of the curriculum should be reviewed, given its implications in the context of the classroom and management. However, significant changes identified in the practices of some teachers, such as the use of audio description, stimulus to the participation of students with disabilities and use of images, favored the development of other students, who benefit of more exciting and participatory classes. Based on the conducted research, we conclude on the importance of collectively discuss the conditions for / in schooling of different students and the (re)thinking of curriculum practices in the school as a whole, and therein lies a paradox because, on the one hand, it is not about minimizing the specific knowledge in dealing with the needs of students with disabilities, on the other, we are not interested in distancing these needs from those inherent in human nature, therefore peculiar to the other students. The questioning of our own practices is the challenge imposed, not to special education, or its target audience, but this is undoubtedly task of education.

The clinical formation process in Psychology courses is especially difficult for students-interns who adopt phenomenology as their clinical framework. Such difficulty is due to the incompatibility between theory provided in Psychology courses a science traditionally based on paradigms of scientism , and the theoretical-methodological proposal adopted by the aforementioned approach. As a backdrop for our study, we carefully examined the thought of philosopher Martin Heidegger, especially the Era of Technique. This contemporary technicism society was studied so that we could understand the socio-cultural status where this formation lies. Thus, we questioned if this panorama upon which Clinical Psychology rests favors the development of a phenomenological attitude and a special look at the meanings of existence, as defined in phenomenological clinical practice. Knowing such limits, our research aimed at understanding the experience of formation of clinical psychologists who take part in internships in the field of phenomenology-existentialism. Such study was, then, a phenomenological-hermeneutic research based on Heideggerian ontology and used a semi-structured interview as access tool. Six students of the UFRN higher-degree Psychology course who were doing their supervised internship in clinical psychology and the referred approach took part in this research. The research revealed that the phenomenological-existential formation phase opens a door to discoveries on the part of the intern that transcend the dimension of the other, for they show a self disclosure while a person in the word. Despite the initial discomforts caused by the course curriculum itself and by the freedom for clinical practice, so characteristic of phenomenology, the narratives demonstrate that such difficulties may start a process of search for new meanings, which show a search for sharpening their practices and for a path in balance with the existence of the other / No presente estudo, a Fenomenologia ? destacada pela dimens?o de sua cr?tica aos limites da ci?ncia positivista, ci?ncia esta que rege a grande maioria das ?reas do conhecimento, abrangendo, inclusive, a pr?pria Psicologia. No que se refere ao processo de forma??o cl?nica no curso de Psicologia, existe uma dificuldade peculiar por parte dos estudantes-estagi?rios que adotam a fenomenologia como referencial cl?nico. Tal dificuldade se deve ? incompatibilidade entre o aporte te?rico advindo do curso de Psicologia, ci?ncia esta pautada, tradicionalmente, em paradigmas cientificistas, e a proposta te?rico-metodol?gica adotada pela abordagem supracitada. Os participantes desta pesquisa foram seis estagi?rios do curso de Psicologia da UFRN que estavam desenvolvendo est?gio supervisionado em psicologia cl?nica na abordagem referenciada. A pesquisa revelou que a etapa de forma??o fenomenol?gico-existencial abre uma possibilidade de descobertas por parte do estudante estagi?rio que transcendem a dimens?o do outro, pois refletem um auto desvelamento enquanto pessoa lan?ada no mundo. Analýza práce žáků s programem "Obkreslovačka" / The Analysis of the pupils' work with the program "Obkreslovačka"

The main goal of this work is to chart interaction of children with the {\clqq}Obkreslovačka`` game. I primarily focus on various strategies for solving exercises where pupils are supposed to encircle certain shapes. I propose and describe three different strategies and evaluate their existence. Part of this work is a statistic compilation of pupil´s success rates while solving exercises from individual sets as well as the statistics of success of each set. I examine the way how children work with this program {--} what problems do they have, what is easy for them and which exercises cause them the biggest problems. I focus on the differences between boys and girls while using concrete strategies and the differences while solving exercises. I am evaluating the suitability of the ``Obkreslovačka{\crqq} game for pupils and recommending this game to a specific age group. Part of my work is based on theoretical knowledge and supplemental data, part is based on my own practical experiences. practicalexperiences.

[pt] Ao se olhar para o logotipo ou o símbolo gráfico - signo empresarial - de um empreendimento qualquer, sempre surgem interrogações. Seja o signo ainda desconhecido, seja ele familiar, há de se perguntar o que esta forma está por representar ou o que a levou a ser escolhida, para que continue a representar a empresa a que se refere. Em ambos os casos, o que inspira o questionamento é: o que faz um signo visual ser eficiente? Desde que a marca assumiu uma importância indiscutível no mundo empresarial, se discute a força que a representação gráfica da empresa exerce, possibilitando identificar o negócio e realizar o incremento das vendas dos produtos a ela associados. O propósito deste trabalho é apresentar o entendimento de como um signo empresarial atinge esta eficiência, fazendo-nos compreender que isto não está na sua configuração, mas lhe é conferido a partir de um campo simbólico de produção - o campo do design. São aqui considerados W.J.T. Mitchell, autor que contempla aspectos do funcionamento de uma imagem, e fundamentalmente, Pierre Bourdieu, que explicita, por meio da teoria de produção em campos simbólicos, a maneira pela qual um bem simbólico - uma imagem - alcança o reconhecimento como legítimo. A partir desta articulação, é possível compreender que a eficiência do signo empresarial depende de uma legitimação, produzida nas relações entre as diversas instâncias desse campo autônomo do design; ao contrário da crença dos designers. / [en] When looking at the logo or the graphic symbol - business sign - of any enterprise, questions always arise. Whether the sign is still unknown or whether it is familiar, one will ask what this shape represents or what led it to be chosen, so that it could continue to represent the company to which it refers. In both cases, what inspires the questioning is: what makes a visual sign efficient? Since the brand name took on indisputable importance in the business world, there has been discussion of the force exerted by a company´s graphic representation, which makes it possible to identify the business and promote increased sales of the products associated with it. The purpose of this work is to present an interpretation of how a business sign attains this efficiency, knowing that this does not derive from its shape alone, but is conferred upon it based on a symbolic field of production - the field of design. Following in the footsteps of W.J.T. Mitchell, an author who has addressed aspects of an image´s functioning and, fundamentally, Pierre Bourdieu, who has made clear, by means of the theory of production in symbolic fields, the way in which a symbolic asset - an image - achieves recognition as legitimate, it is possible to understand that the efficiency of a business sign depends on legitimacy, which is produced in the relations between the various levels of this autonomous field of design, contrary to the designers belief.

In its conclusion the thesis presents graphic manual of a government corporate identity as a proposal to the future.
