Johansson, Elin, Persson, Anna January 2016 (has links)
The study aims to describe and analyse how case managers reflect and act in the regards to self-determination when caring for residents with dementia diagnosis. Our main questions dealt with how the case managers handle the right to self-determination in relation to the residents’ relatives’ opinions when a person has dementia. To find answers to our questions, we interviewed seven care takers within elderly care in four different municipalitys in the Southern Sweden. We used qualitative interviews based on a semi-structured interview guide and two vignettes. The vignettes were based on two fictive narratives which both included persons with dementia but with different relatives and opinions. The purpose of the vignettes were to investigate whether there was different perceptions among the case managers in terms of consideration the residents’ self-determination in relation to their relatives. The results of the study were analyzed using Hasenfeld’s theory on Human service organizations, Lipsky’s street-level bureaucracy and Strauss’ negotiation-perspective. We displayed similarities to previous research showing that the case managers work with the residents’ best interest in mind even though relatives can be very obstinate. Our main conclusions are that the interpretation of self-determination is fluidity according to the case managers is fluidity and the case managers at some occasions try to persuade the person with dementia to apply for care and welfare. Furthermore can the relatives of the person with dementia be both beneficial and disadvantageous depending of the relation between them.

Where's the limit and who gets to decide what? : A study about how home care staff interprets and handles sitautions with and around caretakers alcohol use.

Sturesson, Sofie, Kling, Sandra January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding for how home care services interpret and handle situations with and around caretakers alcohol use. Interviews have been conducted with two managers and six basic staff in two different home care service-groups. The interviews were individual with the managers and in group form with the staff. The interviews have been analyzed using Hasenfeld’s theory on Human Service Organizations and moral practice together with Beronius’ interpretation of disciplinary exercise of power. Our result showed that the handling of caretakers alcohol use differed both within and between the home care service-groups and there was a lack of guidelines on how to deal with this. Consequently it seemed to be a lot of individual assessments carried out by the staff, which sometimes led to a moral practice. Another important result was the fact that the interviewees quickly became very fixed on abuse and addiction, even though the interviews had focus on alcohol use in general. It is obvious that when a substance abuse problem exists, difficulties arise in home care services work.

Implementering av Signs of Safety-modellen.

Karlsson, Jessica, Åkerlund, Anna January 2015 (has links)
Abstract The aim of this qualitative case study was to examine social service workers and managers approach towards the implementation of the Signs-of-Safety (SoS) model and their comprehension of working with the model. This study took place at a children and youth unit at a social service office in Stockholm. The empiric is based on three qualitative semistructured interviews and participant observations. The result was analyzed by definitions from Hasenfeld’s Human service organizations (HSO), Lipsky’s and Johansson’s definitions of "street-level bureaucrats", and room for manoeuvre. Lundquist’s definitions of "understand", "want" and "can" was also used, as well as the core-components that Fixsen, Naoom, Blase, Friedman och Wallace draw together of a successful implementation. The main result of the study indicates that the SoS-model contributes to the participation of children and parents and that it is complicated to implement the SoS-model in such a specialized organization. The study’s result also shows that the implementation is promoted by the support and the resources of every level in the organization and the fact that the initiative came from the street-level bureaucrats. The documentary system that comes with the BBIC is complicated to combinate with the SoS-model and therefore this might become a restricting effect.

Friberg, Anneli, Strid, Solvej January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze how social workers experience their cooperation in childcare investigations, how they experience their discretion and what happens emotionally with social workers in relationship with child care investigations. The study is based on a qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. The interviews have been analyzed via a thematic analysis and have been interpreted with the theoretical frameworks, human service organizations, street level bureaucracy and power. The results show that work linked to childcare investigations arouses feelings of the social secretary. Feelings like hopefulness, fear, stress and powerlessness. Further results show that the social secretary prefers parents to accept voluntary efforts compared with imperativ efforts and cooperation is of the greatest importance to bring child care investigations forward. The study shows that the social secretaries consider themselves to have discretion in their work but their work is also controlled by the organization. Especially when it comes to imperative care, something that the law also prescribes.

Ledarskap i socialt arbete : Chefers anpassningar mellan organisation och verklighet / Leadership in social work : Managers’ adjustments between organization and reality

Davidsson, Agnes, Bulla, Alessandro January 2023 (has links)
For a long time, the Swedish welfare sector has received criticism, something that has placed great demands on managers within these organizations. The study’s purpose was to investigate how managers shape their leadership in relation to their environment and the demands placed on them. The study used various leadership theories and emotional intelligence research as tools for analysis. Data collection was conducted using 5 semistructured interviews with managers within various human-treating organizations in Dalarna. The data was analyzed through a qualitative thematic analysis method. The results found obstacles that negatively affect managers’ leadership development, such as greater administrative responsibility and streamlining, something NPM encourages. The results also show that staff shortages have a big impact on managers’ leadership. The managers express that there has been a shift in focus from management providing the best quality for users to instead be about cost efficiency.

Förebyggande arbete mot narkotikaanvändning bland ungdomar : En kvalitativ intervjustudie utifrån ett samverkansperspektiv / Preventive work against drug use among young people : A qualitative interview study based on a collaboration perspective

Helge, Ewelina, Börjesson, Vilma January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to, through qualitative interviews, contribute to a deeper understanding of how collaboration between human-treating organizations, which work preventively against drug use among young people in X-municipality, continues in practice. Therefore, we also want to investigate how this collaboration is experienced within four human-treating organizations. These are the police, social services, field group and student health team at school in X-municipality. This was done with the help of nine qualitative interviews in semi-structured form. The results of the interview material were analyzed using organizational theory and previous research. From the results, we could see that collaboration is perceived as an important phenomenon where the organizations collaborate to some extent, but not as much as they would like. Where organizational factors such as regulations, personal interaction and different approaches to the social problem affect the extent to which cooperation takes place.

The enlightenment of the profession or illusions within the academic procession : A qualitative interview study of youth care workers experiences of evidence-based practise within out-of-home care

Jivenius, Carl January 2024 (has links)

Hadjikhani, Melanie, Borg, Lena January 2010 (has links)
Social workers in this study describes various experiences of the assessments of interventions for children and adolescents. Social workers experience of the many different situations where an assessment of best effort must be made on the basis of BBIC, which is the Social Services investigation records. To make this assessment, the Social workers need social assistance and support of their colleagues and manager. Knowledge mixed with experience is also an important part when it comes to being professional and not let emotions control that could otherwise be happened when the social worker meets and builds relationships with clients. Social workers are also those who will decide which achievement the client needs from the needs. We use systems theory, Hasenfeld´s theory of human services organizations  and Lipsky´s grassroots bureaucrats to analyze how social worker work with clients of different experiences, knowledge and some of their own personal values for the various operations. The efforts in our work we have examined is traditional familycare and MTFC (Multi dementional Treatment Foster Care), we have found that there are different arguments for different actions, but the assessments are made virtually the same assessment model. There are requirements that govern the operation of which is matched with the objectives and resources administration. Social worker also believes that social work is a game where we do not know how the results will be.

Från lindrigt utvecklingsstörd till förälder : En studie om socionmers förhållningssätt i arbete med föräldrar diagnostiserade med lindrig utvecklingsstörning / From focusing on mild intellectual disability to being a parent : A study of social workers’ approach in work with parents diagnosed with mild intellectual disability.

Ali, Ajnur, Sargsyan, Araksya January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this study was to describe and analyse social workers’ approach in working with parents with mild intellectual disability. The study intends to find out if work approach is related to position and type of organisation. The data consists of six semi structured interviews with social workers from three different organisations that in work meet parents with mild intellectual disability. These organisations were Vuxenhabiliteringen, LSS and Individ- and Familjeomsorgen. In addition, an interview with a researcher that has expert knowledge in development for parents with mild intellectual disability was done. In the analysis the experiences of social workers were linked to organizational tasks and importance of cooperation. The study purposed to analyse the result from two theoretical perspectives; street- level bureaucracy and human-service organisations. The result shows that social workers in the organisations have different approaches dependent on what organisation they work in and the role and working tasks they have in work. The study also indicated how the organisations and their tasks affected the parenthood for persons with mild intellectual disabled parents.
