Repertoar:Henri Tomasi - TrombonkonsertAstor Piazolla - Svit ur Maria de Buenos Aires (arr av Steven Verhelst)Benedetto Marcello - Cellosonat i F-dur (arr av Sven och Johanna Fridolfsson)Medverkande:Elias Fridolfsson, TrombonKatarina Ström-Harg, PianoJonathan Jennesjö, TrumpetAnna Lindberg, TrumpetEelis Malmivirta, HornHilda Melin, HornHjalmar Ljungberg, TrombonKristian Prestbø, TubaDaniel Caesar, SlagverkEskil Hamrin, SlagverkCornelia Vogel, ViolinEmma Alriksson, ViolinChristine Söderlund, ViolinLouise Rosenholm, ViolaIsela Halonen, ViolaJohanna Fridolfsson, ViolaLavinia Scarpelli, CelloAgnes Wall Ströberg, CelloJakob Ulmestrand, Kontrabas

Previous issue date: 2017-02-22 / CAPES / The 25th of April 1974 is a watershed in contemporary Portuguese society: after more than forty years of na intense authoritarian period, the country would be characterized in all social fissures by a process of rupture and the constant search for democratization. The years before the Carnation Revolution, under the governance of Marcello Caetano, contemplate the period of study of this research, in the process of analyzing the intense social movement that erupts in the country, seeking to break in some ways the constitution of Salazarist authoritarianism. The institutional crisis of the regime coupled with intense social discontent conveyed through intense social mobilizations will be fundamental in understanding the pre-revolutionary period and in the outbreak of the military coup in 1974. The collapse of the state regime reflected in social movements in the same proportion as the own Manifestations of the different social niches influenced a growing crisis of the system. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the Marcellist period in the search for the understanding of the factors conditioning the outbreak of the Portuguese Revolution, based on the defense that the country was not ?asleep? in the face of the misconduct of the Estado Novo. Adding to the Bass Clarinet Repertoire Through Informed TranscriptionJanuary 2020 (has links)
abstract: The bass clarinet, developed almost a century after the soprano clarinet, isrelatively young compared to many modern instruments and consequently possesses a
comparatively small repertoire. Until the mid-20th century, composers did not view the
bass clarinet as a solo instrument and instead perceived it as cumbersome due to its low
pitch and predominant use as an accompaniment instrument, resulting in a dearth of solo
repertory for the bass clarinet before this time. Bass clarinetists desiring to perform
repertoire from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods must then appropriate
music from other instruments. Through this study, I identify and detail a process for
creating informed transcriptions of music for the bass clarinet to increase its body of solo
and chamber literature. I examine the original scores and existing transcriptions of
Concerto in C minor by Henri Casadesus (attributed to Johann Christian Bach) for cello,
Bassoon Concerto Op. 75 by Carl Maria von Weber, Trios, Hob. IV:1-4 “London Trios”
by Joseph Haydn, Kol Nidrei, Op. 47 by Max Bruch, and Clarinet Concerto in A Major,
K. 622 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to identify methods for the transcription process. I
compare this to the transcription process for other instruments through examination of the
Clarinet Sonatas, Op. 120, Nos. 1 and 2 by Johannes Brahms, which were transcribed
from clarinet to viola by the composer himself. In this document, I discuss the historical
background of the selected pieces, the selection process, editing considerations,
performance practice, and the usage of transcriptions as a pedagogical tool. Although
transcriptions for the bass clarinet already exist, appropriation of music from other
instruments will continue to supplement and diversify its repertoire. These pieces serve to
develop important technical and musical skills and allow the bass clarinetist to play
music across various style periods. In this project, I select and transcribe three pieces for
the bass clarinet: Sonata for Cello No. 1 in F Major by Benedetto Marcello, Grand
Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra by Johann Nepomuk Hummel, and Serenade in F
minor, Op. 73, by Robert Kahn. The transcribed scores are included in the appendices of
this document. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Music 2020

The reception of John Chrysostom and the study of ancient Christianity in early modern Europe, c.1440-1600Kennerley, Sam Joseph January 2018 (has links)
This study retraces the principal moments of the Latin reception of John Chrysostom between c.1440 and 1600 and how they reflect on the study of ancient Christianity in early modern Europe. After a short Introduction to Chrysostom’s reception in medieval Europe and existing historiography on early modern patristics, the first section of this study focusses on the reception of Chrysostom in the fifteenth century. Chapter 1 examines the collaboration between cardinal Jean Jouffroy and the humanist translator Francesco Griffolini in Renaissance Rome. Chapter 2 explores the career and editorial work of the scholastic writer Johannes Heynlin and his impact on Basel’s rise as a centre of patristic studies. The second part of this study investigates the translations and interpretations of Chrysostom by the renowned Dutch humanist, Desiderius Erasmus. Chapter 3 argues that Erasmus advanced Chrysostom as a Pauline theologian in a way deliberately opposed to contemporary Latin traditions of exegesis. Chapter 4 interprets Erasmus’ editions and translations of Chrysostom against the breakdown of his friendship with the Protestant theologian Johannes Oecolampadius. Chapter 5 asks whether Erasmus’ biography of Chrysostom and criticism of spurious texts of the Greek church fathers confirms or contrasts recent investigations of Erasmus’ scholarship on their Latin counterparts. The third part of this study follows the reception of Chrysostom’s life and works in the Catholic world during and after the Council of Trent. Chapter 6 studies the use of Chrysostom’s works at this Council by cardinal Marcello Cervini and his client Gentian Hervet. Chapter 7 uses Chrysostom’s changing place in the Roman breviary to explore Catholic attitudes to historical scholarship and the Greek church in the sixteenth-century. A short conclusion suggests avenues for future research into the reception of Chrysostom in early modern Europe.
