Mitt eksamensarbeid på Carl Malmsten tar for seg miljøhensyn i møbelfremstilling. Samtaler og intervjuer av ledende miljøprodusenter i Sverige har ført til at jeg har valgt å fokusere mer på hvorfor enn hvordan. Da det de har formidlet, har gitt meg innsyn og forståelse for at det er selve grunnholdningen som er nøkkelen. Videre har det ført til at jeg har valgt å belyse emnet gjennom temaer som de intervjuede har tatt stilling til.  Hovedfokusene er etikk, bomullsproduksjon, CO2-problematikk, regnskog og giftstoffer i møbelmaterialer. Samt metodikk i forhold til formgivning for mer bærekraftige møbler. Jakten på hva bærekraftige møbler kan være har vært min røde tråd gjennom dette eksamensarbeidet. Begrepet rommer blant annet resirkulerbarhet, nedbrytbare materialer og holdbarhet. Rapporten inneholder også en spørreundersøkelse som belyser folkets betraktninger rundt miljøvennlige møbler.  En viktig grunn til at jeg ikke har fokusert like mye på hvordan, er at det finnes offisielle kriterier lett tilgjengelige. Noen av disse kriteriene har jeg tatt med i rapporten for å vise hvilke valg man trenger å ta for miljøvennlig fremstilling av møbler, i alle fall en formell en. Jeg håper at mitt arbeide kan fungere som inspirasjon og plattform for videre arbeide i emnet. Om ikke i eksamensform, en økt bevissthet og forhåpentligvis tydeligere og en mer konkret målsetning for miljøhensyn i møbelproduksjon. / My final work for the bachelor degree at Carl Malmsten discusses environment consideration in furniture-production. Conversation and interviews of leading furniture producers in Sweden have given me the focus on why rather than how. The reason is that they have given me insight and understanding that the engagement is the key. That has lead me to the choice to examine the subject by themes the interviewed had as main focuses.  The main focuses are ethic, cotton-production, CO2-difficulties, the rainforest and poisoning gasses in furniture materials. And methods conserving design for more environment-friendly furniture. The hunt for what sustainable furniture can be has been my main focus through this project. That includes recycling, materials and furniture durability. This rapport also includes a poll that study peoples consideration about environment furniture.  One important reason why I have focused less about how, is that there are official criteria easily found. Some of these criteria I took into the rapport to show witch choices you have to make for an environment friendly furniture-production, at least if you want to follow a formal one. I hope my project will be to inspiration, and hopefully a helping guide to make aims for more environment friendly furniture
