Přístup sociálních pracovníků ke klientům romské menšiny / Stance of social workers to clients of the Roma minority

KORECKÁ, Tereza January 2012 (has links)
The thesis deals with social work with gypsy clients. The first chapter of the theoretical part 1.1 Social work aimed at the gypsy minority describes the specifics of social work with gypsy clients, which is based on preconditions that social workers should fulfill when working with this target group and their facilities for such work. It aims at the professional approach of the social workers to the clients who are members of the gipsy ethnicity and describes the value system of a social worker. The research proved that the workers approach the clients professionally based on an ethical code. Factors which influence the perception of the clients from the gipsy minority by the social workers became clear from the research. The approach is most commonly influenced by the more difficult communication with the clients and low motivation of the gipsy clients to change their burdensome situation through their own endeavors. The workers do not distinguish their clients according to their membership in a minority but according to the specific problem they wish to help them solve. The biggest problem of the gipsy ethnicity became education. The majority of the workers believe that if the education of the gipsy clients can be improved it will reduce the impact of other social problems.

Využití modelu J. N. Giger a R. E. Davidhizar v klinické a komunitní praxi u romské minority / Usage J. N. Giger and R. E. Davidhizar Model in Clinical and Community Practice in Roma Minority

TOUMOVÁ, Kristýna January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this paper was to find out the specifics of nursing care in clinical and community practice in Roma minority. Furthermore, to find out which of these specifics are missing in the J. N. Giger and R. E. Davidhizar nursing model and modify the nursing documentation based on this conceptual model accordingly. A combination of qualitative and quantitative research was used to achieve the set goals. The whole research was carried out within the framework of the team research project of GAJU No. 048/2015/S. Within the qualitative survey, 8 interviews with members of the Roma minority were carried out to verify the context of individual areas of the conceptual model. Furthermore, the focus group technique was used with nurses from clinical and community practice to verify the use of modified nursing documentation. The quantitative research used a non-standardised questionnaire based on the conceptual model areas for 600 respondents from the Roma minority. The research carried out has shown that health is one of the highest values in life for Roma people. Although health comes first, their way of life does not match this finding. This mainly concerns the area of substance abuse and disease prevention. Health care is influenced by their education. The more educated the individual is, the more they visit a doctor, they keep the treatment regimen and more generally they look after their health. The Roma minority is a relatively closed group of inhabitants, which to this day is difficult to assimilate into the majority society. Nevertheless, there is a gradual loss of some specific features. Above all, it is the loss of knowledge of the Roma language or the failure to observe some traditional Roma customs and traditions. This is mainly influenced by the social environment of the individual. All information obtained is clearly presented in the proposed documentation according to the Model of thoughtful and adapted care. Using this model provides us with a comprehensive assessment of the individual and the ability to better plan nursing care according to the needs of each individual.

Sociální patologie z pohledu sociálně vyloučených Romů / Social pathology from the perspective of socially excluded Roma

JUREČKOVÁ, Monika January 2012 (has links)
The submitted diploma thesis has been focused on the chosen socio-pathological phenomena in terms of socially excluded Roma adolescents. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part there I clarify first of all concepts as a social standard, a deviation and its basic theories, a culture of the poverty, I also deal with a delinquent and criminal behaviour in a context of the ethnicity, further I describe a social pathology in the Roma minority, a social exclusion of the Roma ethnic group including issues of social-excluded localities and in the end of the theoretical part I deal with an explanation of the concept Romany or the Roman ethnic group. An aim of the diploma thesis is to identify how Roma adolescent men and women living in social excluded localities perceive the social pathology. Because of the objectives and particularity of the research sample as well as the research investigation, I chose a qualitative research, a method of an interview and a technique of a half-standardized dialogue with open questions. The target sample includes 14 respondents aged 13 to 20 years. I addressed respondents in two socially excluded localities as follows: ? a dormitory of defaulters ? a dormitory of the housing estate type The result of the thesis is a recognition which phenomena are perceived by the social excluded Roma adolescents as pathological ones and which are their standard and whether they represent a factual standard for them or in what extent they have a personal experience with them.

The thesis lists the main stereotypical attributes as-cribed to minorities by the media and discusses the degree of objectivity in articles that mention minorities. The second part of the thesis uses specific arti-cles on minorities published from 1 January 2004 to 31 July 2006 in the south Bohemia daily to document whether minorities are depicted in a negative or positive way and whether the articles (journalists) are objective.

Potřeba intimity a její zajištění v ošetřovatelské péči u vybraných minoritních skupin / The need for intimacy and security in the provision of nursing care for selected minority roups

PINCOVÁ, Dana January 2011 (has links)
The Need for Intimacy and its Assurance in Nursing Care for Selected Minority Groups The need for intimacy is an important part of everyday life, and it is necessary to assure it at hospitalization. This need is individual, specific to each person and the culture the person comes from. The theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to this issue. The concept of intimacy and the need to assure intimacy in nursing care with a focus on specifics of the nursing care for members of minority groups are described. The master´s thesis objective was to identify the specifics to assure the need for intimacy of selected minority groups and to determine whether nurses know the specifics of intimacy in nursing care for patients from selected minority groups. To meet the objectives, the following hypotheses were stated: H1: There are specifics in the need for intimacy in selected minority groups, and H2: Nurses know the specifics in the need for intimacy in selected minority groups. One research question was asked: Is the need for intimacy in patients from selected minority groups assured at hospitalization? To conduct the diploma thesis research, a quantitative-qualitative survey was selected and the interview method was used ? questionnaires for nurses and the general public, and the interview technique for representatives of selected minority groups. The research set consisted of nurses in hospitals, the general public and representatives of selected minority groups. The survey was carried out during the months of February and March 2011. Specifics in the need for intimacy assurance in selected minority groups exist, and nurses are familiar with them. They know them mainly form their nursing practice when they have met a member of a minority group. The answer to the research question was unequivocal. Yes, the need for intimacy in patients from selected minority groups is assured. It is assured primarily by using the fittings of individual departments, which are the curtains or blinds, as well as by a helpful and sympathetic attitude of the medical staff who try not to unnecessarily unveil the patients´ bodies and according to available means to provide them with as much privacy as possible either during examination, a treatment intervention or while on bed rest. The outcomes show that both objectives were met and the hypotheses were confirmed. The research results were the basis for elaboration of an informational brochure for nurses, which may help in nursing care for minority groups members. And not only for assuring the needs for intimacy, but for a general overview of specifics in nursing care for minority groups members.
