Modernization of Volyně, Dominant developmental trends of economy, society and politics between years 1848 and 1938 This text following the proposition of modernization theory tries to regard long-lasting evolution of making modern society in the small town Volyně. It is divided into parts searching for a modern tendencies in terms of various segments of social, economic, cultural and political life. First of all there is pointed at making progress to road-traffic infrastructure, uprising mass-transportation and post, telegraph and phone services. The second part is looking for the meaningful changes connected with the liberal economy and the industrial revolution, concretely redeployment agricultural sector and translocation the manpower into trade sector and industry, then concentration of manufacturing and downfall of the small workshop production. The third part inquires the quantity and quality of the town's population, the main demographic changes came by the removal of diseases caused by insufficient personal hygiene and municipal sanitation and on the other hand by the birth of the new demographic regime and transformation of population pattern. This thesis deals with the problems of insulating older buildings. The goal of this work is to evaluate the conditions of interior environement of stables for breeding hens and to propose an improvement of its thermal properties. The first chapter describes findings from literature about individual methods of insulating buildings. The second chapter describes the basic methodology and the principle of used measurements of the technical properties of the stable for breeding hens. In the third chapter there are evaluations of the measurements and necessary calculations for the improvement of thermal properties of the building. The last chapter lists the economic evaluation of the proposed insulation method of the building in respect to the egg production and feed consumption.

The thesis targeted on the area of modernization of customs clearance in the EU and the Czech Republic is focused on the specification of the systems and procedures used in the modernization of customs clearance when the electronic customs declaration is used. Mainly about the status of transition from the paper declaration to the electronic paperless customs declaration, not only in the Czech Republic but throughout the European Union. Assessment data is carried out primarily for the period between the years 2012 to 2014, in some cases, for better assessments, in the period between the years 2009 to 2014. The thesis is focused on the evaluation of the situation with modernisation the customs clearance in the Czech Republic and comparing the results between chosen EU member states and the Czech Republic. The usage of the electronic Entry Summary Declarations and Exit Summary Declarations have increased several times in last two years. Implementation of systems for lodgement and processing of customs declarations for more effective and efficient control of goods within the EU member states has also very fast growing trend with very low error rate. The rate of electronically lodged customs declarations is reaching in most of the EU member states almost 100%. Numbers of customs declarations lodged within the simplified procedures in chosen EU member states is more or less stable. (anglicky) This thesis aims to analyze the primary goal and analyze the trends in the Saudi modern kingdom, which is perceived as a Puritan and traditionally writing country in which reforms are doomed to failure, while answering the research question "Can the theory be applied to modern The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? " The hypothesis of the thesis is the thesis that the above view is not only distorted, but to some extent erroneous. Since its founding in 1932, the kingdom has undergone and continues to undergo modernization, in many areas, most of which will be disabled in its dissertation. However, for a comprehensive understanding of the topic, it is necessary to describe in detail the concept of modernization, and also to describe the concept of modernization, what is the legitimacy of the ruling Saudi family, what aspects affect their governance and who makes up Saudi society. For this reason, this work has as its secondary goal to introduce readers to these areas.

The theses Maxmilian Pirner - The conception of allegory and symbol in the work of one artist on the end of 19th century discusses the work of Maxmilian Pirner and his attitudes to allegory and symbol. Becouse at the end of 19th century was the allegorical system in crisis, Pirner reflected it by its' modernization. The modernisation of system in his own conception consisted in gradual rejection of traditional allegory and admission of symbol. The these is trying to answer the question how this process came through and why it was unique. The main focus of the theses is to describe Pirners'role in the process of development in art since neoromantism to symbolism at the turn of 19th and 20th century.

This Master's thesis focuses on the discussion about Chinese and Western Medicine in the Duli pinglun Magazine (獨立評論) in the year of 1934. Its main purpose is to introduce the lines of reasoning of its participants. The thesis introduces general historical and philosophical background crucial for the formation of the discussion about Chinese and Wester Medicine in 1930s. It describes the situation of Chinese medicine in China from the late imperial period to so called Nanjing Decade (1928-1937). It describes the discussion in the context of the intellectual discussion about social Darwinism, national essence, cultural iconoclasm and science and scientism. It introduces selected basic characteristics of Chinese Medicine crucial for the understanding of this discussion. The main actor of the discussion, Fu Sinian 傅斯年 (1896-1950), and the Duli pinglun Magazine itself are introduced here. The thesis focuses also on the first phase of the discussion, which was held in the Da gongbao Magazine 大公報. Main intellectual tendencies of the discussion about Chinese and Wester Medicine during this period were revealed through the analysis of the discussion. In the theoretical part of this thesis are discussed concepts of collective memory created by Maurice Halbwachs, Pierre Nora and Jan Assmann, the author considers them inspiring for the research about forming of collective identity. Case study is given to the South Bohemian town of Pisek and the changing of its identity in the second half of the 19th century. It gives an overview of available sources and detailed biographies of people, who were most important for the forming of local identity. By using the analysis of dictionary entries are recognized basic attributes of local identity and their various forms, focusing particularly on process of modernization.
