Due to the corona pandemic (Covid-19) during spring of 2020, the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven announced in a press conference on March 17, 2020, that all upper secondary schools, adult education and colleges are recommended to close and pursue distance education. Because of this, teachers can no longer teach as planned and they’ll have to transfer their lesson plans to fit the distance education format. The purpose of this study is to see how distance education, due to the corona pandemic, is pursued within the music subject and music theory at the upper secondary school and what the consequences and practical conditions will be for students and teachers. The focus in this study is on the teachers' experience of distance education. The empirical data has been collected by interviewing five teachers through video calls. The study is based on a qualitative method, as it enables a deeper analysis of the teachers participating in the study. The analysis is based on the frame factor theory that is about the external factors that affects education and how it is performed. The conclusion is that the music subject, in many ways, can be altered to fit the qualifications for distance education. The teachers have not faced any major difficulties teaching, though some students have issues studying from home which is a major time-consuming aspect to deal with for the teachers.

Syftet med detta arbete är att utforska min process som kompositör, musiker och bandledare genom att skapa ett album med min musik. Arbetets bakgrund är att jag ville se ifall jag klarade av att göra ett jazzalbum i eget namn. Metodiken har gått ut på att förbereda kompositioner och att förverkliga en vision men samtidigt att sträva efter att hitta olika delar i projektet som kan hållas helt oförberedda. Jag har tillsammans med ett för skivan ihopsatt band spelat in mina kompositioner i en studio under fyra dagar. Resultatet blev ett album med 17 spår. Under arbetets gång har jag utforskat min process som kompositör, musiker och bandledare samt analyserat när dessa tre roller sammanfaller. I min roll som kompositör har jag kommit fram till att jag är spontan och går på känsla då jag komponerar. Jag komponerar bäst då jag är inspirerad och inte har för mycket ramar att hålla mig inom. Jag har kommit fram till att jag har svårt att hålla fokus på mig själv som musiker på grund av att jag fokuserar på de andra rollerna i första hand. Det är då jag måste lita på mina tidigare färdigheter och kunskaper för att resultatet ska bli bra. Jag som bandledare anser att styrkan ligger i att ha ett välmående arbetslag som vill uppnå samma resultat. Det är viktigt att se till att hålla alla i en speciell relation till en själv och verkligen uppskatta dem.
