This thesis is dealing with the problematics of education in the field of apprenticeship carpenter at the college. This thesis consists of three basic parts. In the first part, I describe the mentioned field and try to assess the present situation. I present both general and special knowledge, skills and attitudes. I also describe machines and their placement. In the second part, I suggest two possibilities of technological equipment improvement. I give the basic parametres and placement of individual machines. I also turn my attention towards the possibility to use CNC machine-tools and describe educational programs for the handling the CNC center. In the last part I ponder on which possibility would be the best when seeing from the angle of the teaching and space conditions. I assessed different potential benefits both for school and students.

In these days, on over the world, we ca find a huge CNC centres which are more and more often completely automatized. There is no necessity of human intervention to change or stock the machining tools. All these operations are made thanks of robots and manipulators to economize time and money. Target of this these is conception of the mobile storage stacker which can be made and then transported to the place of usage in a 40ft sea container. After transportation the stacker is completelly reade to use. Thanks of this concept, we gain universal storage stacker for differents conditions without necessity of new concepts and and solutions for each CNC centre.

The Diploma thesis deals with the design solution of multi-functional machining centre, especially with one of its parts – the design of the slide ram and vertical feed incl. the choice of convenient tool heads for the slide ram. The introducing part deals with the numerically controlled machines and centres generally, especially with the portal-type ones. It contains description of individual machine parts including examples of accessories from product plans of domestic and foreign producers. The second part of the Diploma thesis contains calculations and design solution of the slide ram and feed including the choice of the most suitable accessories applicable for this purpose. In the final phase the model of the slide ram has been introduced in the imersion virtual reality and integrated in the complete machine design. The Diploma thesis has been elaborated using the relevant technical literature.
