Metody multi-modální datové explorace / Methods of Multi-Modal Data Exploration

Grošup, Tomáš January 2019 (has links)
Digitalization throughout the industry leads to rapidly increasing amounts of data captured and stored which brings forth challenges for indexing and ac- cessing large digital repositories. Very often, the data takes form of complex multi-part entities, such as images with relational attributes, photos with ge- ographical coordinates or textual posts with multimedia content and implicit social relationships. The complexity of such entities and lack of fixed struc- ture makes it impossible to use classical information retrieval methods based on attribute filtering, ranking or grouping, as it is not easy or sometimes even possible to define an exact query. In this thesis, we target data exploration as an act of exploring an unfamiliar area via a series of intuitive, effective and efficient system-supported steps. We present methodologies, demo applications and evaluation results targeting different data sources of multimedia data. Fur- thermore, we focus on the ability to utilize multiple modalities within a single session and on integrating the results into widely used software solutions.

Vyhledání obrázků podle obsahu / Content-based Image Search

Talaš, Josef January 2014 (has links)
This work aims at content-based image search. Different approaches to this type of search are investigated. The main focus of the thesis is special category of content-based image search called sketch-based image search. The most important descriptor types used for image feature extraction in image search are analyzed. Main contribution of the thesis to this research area is a new feature extraction method based on sketch-based image search. This method is implemented together with search interface. The method was evaluated by three test persons. The testing results show promising properties of new method and suggest further possible improve-ments. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Užití Derive ve výuce matematiky / Use of Derive in mathematics lessons

REINDLOVÁ, Jitka January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is the creation of model examples for teachers that can be used in mathematics lessons on basic and secondary schools. The learners are taught how to complete picture from geometry formations set with mathematics formula. This is, according my point of view, the best way how to motivate the learners of any age. The partial aim was to create a summary of theme units which can be used as a source for the pictures' creation. The whole thesis is divided into 7 chapters. Each of them consists of the introduction to the issue, a model example and exercises on the issue and their solutions.

EU v očích australské elity 2016-2019: vnímání v kontextu Brexitu / The EU in the eyes of the Australian elite 2016-2019: perceptions in the context of Brexit

Baker, Thomas Andrew January 2021 (has links)
Brexit represents arguably the most dramatic development in the history of the European Union (EU). For a third country such as Australia, the United Kingdom (UK) with whom it shares a Commonwealth connection, has generally been perceived as serving as a bridge between Australia and the EU. Thus, Brexit represents a conundrum for Australia in its grappling of how to approach its relations with the EU into the future. Perceptions of the EU from the Asia- Pacific region have been regularly studied since the early 2000s. However, there has been a shortcoming in specific focus of Australian perceptions of the EU since 2008, and specifically Australian elite perceptions. Brexit presents an opportunity to update the existing body of literature, thus this research analyses how the Australian elite perceive the EU following the UK's departure. This research utilises a two-tiered methodological approach in order to ascertain what the Australian elite perception of the EU is since the Brexit referendum in June 2016. The methods include a critical content analysis of Australian think tank outputs, and semi-structured interviews with Australian elite figures identified as having extensive knowledge of the EU. The research tests the notion of the UK's centrality to Australia-EU relations and finds that there...

Optimalizace online prezentací v~závislosti na vlastnostech produktů / Optimizing online presentations according to the product features

Novák, David January 2008 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to highlight the importance of graphic design and its visual effects in day-to-day life, notice new methods, justify relevant investments to advertisement as well as mention continuously rising demands made on professional graphic designers. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on the research article, which subject is the extent of consumers' product understanding of products being sold online. The research concludes that it is possible to choose the appropriate presentation format according to task complexity (product features) in terms of graphical and multimedia means of online presentation, such as static pictures with text captions, videos with or without narration and Virtual Product Experiences (VPE ). This is followed by the definitions of communication process and relevant standards related to web design, concluding with the description and interpretation of the most interesting and useful theoretical foundations. The main body is about implementing the theoretical findings in the real world business case including advertising campaign in a project having the purpose to give a real economic/business value. All the project phases are described from finding the business partner to the launch of brand new web service and its propagation. The new web page and other propagation materials were made in order to attract selected companies.

Vyvolávání afektivních stavů prostřednictvím obrazového a audiovizuálního materiálu. Srovnávací studie. / Affective state elicitation using pictoral and audiovisual stimuli: A comparative study

Novák, Ondřej January 2016 (has links)
Both pictures and films are widely used elicitors in experimental approach to emotions. However, there is no consensus regarding their relative impact. I describe conceptual underpinning of these methods, their theoretical comparison, and related methods. In a study of 124 students I assess and compare the impact of pictures and films on experiential, behavioural and physiological reactions. There were stronger reactions in response to positive film than to positive pictures. Negative film and pictures were similar in strength yet different in kind of reactions they yielded. The difference can be explained by different temporal characteristics of both methods. Present study is the second study dealing with this topic, and the only study that engaged multiple reaction levels. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Obrazové možné světy / Pictorial Possible Worlds

Špelda, Petr January 2017 (has links)
The present text develops a model designed to generate conceptual theories with respect to the pictorial (visual) form of representation. This is achieved by combining a computational approach to cognition with philosophical devices of the analytic tradition. The model itself, simulating the structure of reality, consists of (i) a metaphysical stage based on Armstrong's theory of combinatorial possibility, (ii) an epistemological stage proposing emergent phenomena founded upon the notion of computational irreducibility, and (iii) a semantic stage proposing a stochastic account of concepts anchored in the intensional/extensional apprehension of meaning. Towards the end, the model is applied to develop a conceptual account of a case of social, political, and economic organization of human communities as depicted in the visual propaganda of the so-called Islamic State.

Čertovy obrázky v historii a současnosti (výtvarná realizace mariášových karet) / The Devil{\crq}s Books in History and Present (Art Realisation of Whist Cards)

SMILOVÁ, Vendula January 2007 (has links)
This diploma thesis consists of two basic parts. The theoretical part, which you hold in your hands just now, and the practical part, which you can find in reduced ver-sion in the image supplement of this work and whose originals will be presented by the day of the diploma thesis defence session. In practical part of my work I have created a full collection of the whist cards using coloured lino-cut technology. In the theoretical concomitant of the art part I wrote about the history and the pre-sent of card games. You can find there informations about origin of cards, about their journey and spreading to the continental Europe, about cards in the Czech countries and about contemporary world of cards. I also wrote about kinds of cards, especially whist cards (they have separate chapter), about card games (games played in our area and games played with whist cards above all), about technology of card production and about their players. I dedicated one whole chapter to talk about practical realization of my whist cards collection, where I cleared up the choice of the theme, creation of con-crete figures and colours used.

Převod barevných obrázků na černobílé / Color-to-Grayscale Conversions

Pospíšil, Petr January 2016 (has links)
Grayscale pictures were never replaced by color ones and will probably never be, because they are indispensable in many areas. In this thesis was chosen three methods for color-to-gray conversion. These methods was implemented afterwards. Within this thesis was also made test set of 24 HDR pictures, which was together with existing set of 24 LDR pictures used to test and evaluate features of implemented methods. These methods were also compared from the point of accurancy and preference using questionnaire.
