Justážní kolimátor pro Fluorescenční holografický mikroskop / The adjusting collimator for the Fluorescent holographic microscope

Hlaváčová, Kateřina January 2018 (has links)
For the proper function of the Fluorescence olographic microscope, it is necessary to adjust all the optical components of the microscope. Furthermore, the precise adjustment is the very critical condition for proper imaging of the Coherence-controlled holographic microscope. Therefore, it is necessary to create a sight collimator for these microscopes for their adjustment. The fluorescence holographic microscope is based on an interference and holographic principles, whose history is mentioned in the theoretical part of the thesis. The existing state of the art of laser sight collimators and their use in practice is also mentioned. The optical and mechanical design of the laser sight collimator and its realization are described in the next part of the thesis. The software for detecting the black sight cross was created for the use of the laser sight collimator in practice. The software is necessary to evaluate the correctness of the alignment of the adjusted microscope. The descriptions of the adjustment procedures for the laser sight collimator and for the Fluorescence holographic microscope are mentioned in the last part of the thesis. These procedures are necessary for proper manipulation and use with the proposed laser sight collimator.

Deployment Strategies for High Accuracy and Availability Indoor Positioning with 5G

Ahlander, Jesper, Posluk, Maria January 2020 (has links)
Indoor positioning is desired in many areas for various reasons, such as positioning products in industrial environments, hospital equipment or firefighters inside a building on fire. One even tougher situation where indoor positioning can be useful is locating a specific object on a shelf in a commercial setting. This thesis aims to investigate and design different network deployment strategies in an indoor environment in order to achieve both high position estimation accuracy and availability. The investigation considers the two positioning techniques downlink time difference of arrival, DL-TDOA, and round trip time, RTT. Simulations of several deployments are performed in two standard scenarios which mimic an indoor open office and an indoor factory, respectively. Factors having an impact on the positioning accuracy and availability are found to be deployment geometry, number of base stations, line-of-sight conditions and interference, with the most important being deployment geometry. Two deployment strategies are designed with the goal of optimising the deployment geometry. In order to achieve both high positioning accuracy and availability in a simple, sparsely cluttered environment, the strategy is to deploy the base stations evenly around the edges of the deployment area. In a more problematic, densely cluttered environment the approach somewhat differs. The proposed strategy is now to identify and strategically place some base stations in the most cluttered areas but still place a majority of the base stations around the edges of the deployment area. A robust positioning algorithm is able to handle interference well and to decrease its impact on the positioning accuracy. The cost, in terms of frequency resources, of using more orthogonal signals may not be worth the small improvement in accuracy and availability.

Snabba glasögon : En självstudie av avistaövning för el- samt klassisk gitarr / Speed reading : A self-study of sight reading for electric and classical guitar

Rognås, Oskar January 2020 (has links)
Time and again, electric guitarists have had to live with the stigma of being deficient note readers. Presumedly, this should be solvable with a little practice, but how should one structure such practice and does it produce results? Their counterparts in the classic genre do not inherit the same label, thanks to their long tradition of reading sheet music. Could the answer lie with the classical guitar's teaching methods that need only to be translated into electric guitar for the sheet music reading to take off? In this self-study, I explore my own exercise in sight reading for both electric and classical guitars with the help of a video diary, analyzed from a multimodal perspective.

Comparison of ’Fog of War’ models in digital wargames : Using Entity-Component-System architecture and ArcGIS / Jämförelse av krigsdimma modeller i digitala krigsspel : Med användning av Entity-Component-System arkitektur och ArcGIS

Obeia, Karim Osama, Wójcik, Agata Łucja January 2023 (has links)
Fog of War is a term for uncertainty in situational awareness. Fog of War is an essential part of a wargame which causes the participating units’ perception of the environment to be distorted and altered. Introducing a certain amount of uncertainty helps to better mimic the situation on the battlefield. Fog of War comes in multiple forms and levels, whereas the visual detection level is of primary interest for this thesis. Two forms of visual detection have been implemented to simulate a simple and advanced form of Fog of War. The simple level is based solely on the distance between two units, while the advanced level determines whether two units possess a clear line of sight between them, to decisively add realism to a played scenario. The two models were created based on the Entity Component System software architecture, and the maps used for the wargame were based on data from ArcGIS. Extensive testing of the two models, for different types of terrains, show good performance and computational efficiency, however with the expected caveat that flat landscape requires significantly more processing power and memory capacity than a hilly terrain.

ENHANCING SAFETY ON HORIZONTAL CURVES WITH LIMITED SIGHT DISTANCE: A MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION FRAMEWORK

Khalil, Mohamed January 2021 (has links)
This study introduces a multi-objective optimization framework for the re-dimensioning of the cross-section elements of rural horizontal curves with limited sight distance. The optimization aims at minimizing both the risk of collision associated with the limited sight distance and the expected collision frequency corresponding to the cross-section elements’ dimensions. The risk component was assessed using an index known as (Pnc), which is developed based on the reliability theory. The change in collision frequency corresponding to the change of the cross-section elements was extracted from the literature. The risk and the safety components were then combined into one measure (CMFcombined) to develop a direct measure of the safety impacts of the optimization. The proposed framework was applied to five restricted curves in British Columbia, Canada, considering various scenarios. The results showed a considerable reduction in the Pnc value (ranging from 12% to 73%) and the expected collision frequency (ranging from 10% to 31%) after optimization. The estimated combined reduction in collision frequency (CMFcombined) was estimated to vary between 48% and 76%. The results showed that the optimization of cross-section elements can improve the safety of horizontal curves significantly. The framework presented in this study would support transportation engineers in selecting optimal dimensions of cross-section elements of restricted horizontal curves, understanding the safety consequences of selecting a specific cross-section configuration, and assessing the economic viability of different design options. / Thesis / Master of Applied Science (MASc)

Johansson, Kim January 2023 (has links)
SvenskaAluminum has several advantages in construction and product development. Aimpoint AB requires to reduce both the costs and the weight of their aluminum reflex sight of model Micro T-2.   The aim with the report was to investigate the possibility to implement polymeric materials as a substitute to aluminum that fulfills the requirements specification set by the manufacturer Aimpoint AB.   In addition to that, the aim was also to find suitable polymeric materials with an alternative production technique that is applicable for the reflex sight without compromising the mechanical integrity.  Suitable materials identified during the literature part of this report were two types of thermoplastic materials, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polyetheretherketone (PEEK), both with addition of carbon fiber. The selection process of the polymeric materials was based on several factors and together with contractors, different cost estimation scenarios were compared in Excel. By help from three dimensional tools, FEM-analysis of the sight were performed in ABAQUS CAE®. Based on the results from the simulations performed in ABAQUS CAE®, the report presents a comparison between the original aluminum sight with the two types of carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic sights. During the dynamic explicit case the simulation was performed as a drop test against a laminate board according to standard MIL-STD-810G. The results of the simulation presented a deformation of the tested sight. To confirm the material and manufacturing method, further investigation is required. This is necessary to address the questions posed in the current project since the FEM - analysis is an approximate solution. / <p>2023-06-28</p>

Intensiv och systematisk läsintervention vid svenska för invandrare (SFI) : En interventionsstudie med Wendick-modellen / Intensive and Systematic Reading Intervention at Adult Education in Swedish for Immigrants : An Intervention Study with the Wendick Model

Björnflo, Linn January 2023 (has links)
