After the First World War, the Catholic Church intensified its interest in a world that was becoming ever more secular and began to look for new means of actively and creatively taking part in cultural affairs. Cinematography was one of the areas in which this trend became most apparent. It was shortly after the invention of cinematograph that various ideas and plans regarding how to deal with film began to emerge among Catholics. Consequently, the Pope gave his blessing to community-based initiatives and included them in his plan in the encyclical Vigilanti Cura. This study seeks to familiarise the reader with a multifarious mixture of interesting, and often contradictory, voices and opinions that were heard from Czech Catholics with regard to film. Catholic activities in the field of film are divided into three basic areas: production, classification and distribution, with the first area concerning the effort to make their own Catholic films. As the topic for my diploma thesis I{\crq}ve chosen The Persecution of the Zlín-district-bound Roman Catholic Church by the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia in 1948 {--} 1960 from the Viewpoint of Archival Documents. I{\crq}ve set up two goals for this thesis. The primary goal of this work is to map the fates of each church organization, institution and order that were present in then Gottwaldov {--} Zlín district. The secondary goal, which serves as a complement to the primary one, is to show a fracture of the anti-church measurements, which the Gottwaldov-district-bound church was struck by, and the attitude of clergymen as well as that of laics towards them. The thesis is divided into several thematic fields, which depict individual areas of local church{\crq}s prosecution.

This theses analyzes the partisan movement during World War II in the regions of Žďársko a Novoměstsko in the years 1944-1945. It defines the concept of the "partisan" with regard to the matter in question. It further outlines the positions of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union on partisan resistance and comments on this type of resistance activity on the Eastern Front. Integral to this thesis is also a survey into the development of resistance organisations in the region of interest. Finally, it devides the partisans and their overall activities into different categories.

History of sports organization Orel in Bohemia between 1909 - 1948 In 1909, originated in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia sports organization Orel (the Eagle). Unified associations, which for Catholics organized gymnastic activities. Her ancestors were St. Joseph's unity, the Catholic companions and Christian Social gymnastic unions. Czech members of Eagle had a model of the Slovenian Catholic Orel, which was founded in Slovenia on beginning of 20th century by a priest and politician Jan Evangelista Krek. Organization of Orel established in the times of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, in the times of Czechoslovak republic (1918 - 1938) greatly intensified throughout the country, in 1935 reached over 160,000 members. Lifelong mayor of Orel was Msgr. Jan Šrámek, a Catholic priest and politician. Orel ran physical education for men, women, youth and pupils in the Christian spirit. Exercises organized in local groups and two major rallies: international gymnastic festival in 1922 in Brno and St. Wenceslaus days of Orel in 1929 in Prague. Orel maintained contacts with foreign gymnastic and sports Christian societies, became a member of FICEP (Catholic International Gymnastics Federation). The thesis deals with investigation of activities of Catholic sports association Czechoslovak Eagle from the beginning of the century to the Second World War. It describes its history and explains its most important activity with reference to the activities in South Bohemia, in particular in Jindřichův Hradec and Třeboň. It explains the aims of its work as well as the historical value with reference to particular examples. Its how is the main meaning in connection of spirituality and materialism. The first part describes the history of Czechoslovak Eagle, its foundation, organization, and, its most interesting historical moments. The second part describes its activities in the region of South Bohemia. The third part sets the Eagle's work in Třeboň into the historical context. The fourth does the same with the Eagle's work in Jindřichův Hradec.

Piscivorous birds are often blamed for causing significant damage to fish stocks. Various methods are used to determine the composition of their food, each of them has limits in its ability to determine the complete food spectrum. This work maps the complete food composition of 14 species of fish-eating birds with a method that is not commonly used. Method used in this work uses analysis of publicly available photos on Google.com. In addition to the complete composition of the food, the species composition of the non-fish part of the prey was also determined, and in the case of the Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo), also the length of the fishes it catches. The aim of this work is to reveal the usability of this method for these purposes. A total of 2350 retrieved photographs were analyzed. The results obtained by photo analysis are in all cases compared with data in the available literature. For representatives of heron birds (Ardeidae), the analysis of photographs provided good information on the food spectrum of individual birds and on the qualitative composition of the non-fish component. It also provided relatively good information on the diet of the White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla), but the bird part of the prey was slightly underestimated.
