Those fixed-term, competitive and highly networked programs offer a wide array of resources, services and connections to participant companies. However, the business acceleration phenomenon remains scarcely studied considering the newness of the phenomenon and the availability of usable data, especially at national level. This study proposes an exploratory study of early-stage company acceleration in France and asks the question of what are the characteristics and differences of the French acceleration ecosystem in comparison with other ecosystems. The study is built upon a survey distributed among French accelerators in the country. The study shows strong evidence of a specific logic of company acceleration in France marked by a higher relative importance of accelerators in the ecosystem, contrasting with a lack of maturity of accelerators. This translates into a higher relative number of accelerators, a lower share of for-profit accelerators, strong variance in the portfolio of resources and services, including lower levels of investment end equity ownership by accelerators in the country.

Pereira, Aline Grazielle Santos Soares 23 February 2017 (has links)
Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPq / The extension of the school day implies changes in the pedagogical and administrative organization of the educational institution, through a process that involves the functioning of the existing daily practices. The present paper proposes to find answers to the following question: What needs to be reconsidered in the organization of the pedagogical work after the implementation of the More Education Program (PME) in full-time school? The study was motivated mainly by the interest in investigating how the school that extends its daily school day was conceived in terms of the governmental policies that instituted in Brazil the SME. The aim is to verify to what extent the political presuppositions of the SME, the pedagogical hypotheses of the theoretical field and the school practices present coherences and contradictions in their relations. Thus, the research has as general objective to analyze the organizational and pedagogical development of the More Education Program at the Municipal School Elias Montalvão. Specifically, it aims to: (1) identify the educational and political dimensions expressed in the Articulated Action Plan (PAR), the School Development Plan (PDE-Escola) and the Pedagogical Political Project (PPP); (2) to analyze the organizational and pedagogical development foundations in the PPP and its relation with the SME; (3) to explain the progress and challenges of the SME, based on the views of the SME coordinator and the school council of the school investigated. The methodological course used was the qualitative research, characterized as a case study. As strategies and instruments of data collection, we used: documentary analysis and structured interviews. For the analysis of the data, the content analysis method was employed. The empirical information is evidenced by the PME coordinator's views through individual interview and the school council through a press conference, based on four indicators: dialogue, pedagogical assumptions, didactic materials and the effects of the program in schools. The research presents as a result the reading and the interpretation of the organizational and pedagogical dimensions of a full time school of the Municipal Public School of Education of Aracaju.

Att bädda för test : Utvecklingen av en innovations- och testmiljö inom Landstinget i Östergötland / Making the bed for testing : The development of an innovation and testing environment within the County Council of Östergötland

Nilsson, Frida, Savelid, Christin January 2013 (has links)
The topic of this paper is based on an increased demand for the introduction of technology and information technology (IT), which is better tested and adapted for a business before the implementation. Furthermore, there is a need that through new innovations, achieve long-term strategic objectives in the care sector. Therefore, the Swedish innovation agency Vinnova started a venture in test beds in healthcare. A test bed can be likened to an innovation and testing environment. In these, collaboration between healthcare professionals, businesses and research is done to develop products, processes and services that are adapted to the environment in which they are then applied. This study concerns the development and organization of an innovation- and testing environment and what the challenges are. It also concerns the roles and the needs of the stakeholders in the development and how innovation can be achieved in an organization. This has been studied by a case concerning the development of the testbed LIÖ in Östergötland County Council. Theories in the fields of stakeholders, development and innovation are used to support the analysis around these parts, and to create an understanding of some concepts. The empirical study is carried out through semi-structured interviews with representatives from various stakeholder groups to testbed LIÖ. The analysis is also carried out with the help of document studies as part of the empirical investigation. The empirical data are discussed in relation to the theoretical framework for achieving a knowledge contribution in the form of a conclusion. This affects how an innovation and test environment can be developed and organized, stakeholder roles and needs of the development and how innovations can be generated and developed in organizations. The study of the case can provide new knowledge in these areas for future development projects of similar nature.

Peláez-Alegría, Pierre-Dereck January 2016 (has links)

: En kvalitativ studie om styrkebaserat förhållningssätt i organisationer / Don't you want to succeed? : A qualitative study about strengths-based approach in organizations

Lockner, Isabella, Wiberg, Emma January 2020 (has links)

Diagnostika komunikace v občanském sdružení / The Diagnostic of communication in NGO

Techlová, Pavlína January 2012 (has links)
The quality of a communication in every organization is shown in a level of management and influence the relationship among co-workers. All at once has an impact to general organization habit and undermines the processes. Leaving the old concept of a management of organization, considering communication as a direction flow, leads to raise an awareness of a communication process itself as well as of its conditions. The diagnostic helps to recognize the current situation and identify the problematic processes displayed in a communication process flow. The theoretical part of this dissertation is devoted to the topic of an Organization and its development with reference to communication. This supports the empirical part of the dissertation where the diagnostic of an organization realized in non-profit market segment organization is presented. The research work is focusing on two communication layers and brings the knowledge of either a communication process or its significant aspects as of management, organizing, planning and working processes. The recommendation for either optimization or change follows after identifying the problematic processes of a communication. The communication is apprehended in wider concept of an organization development which becomes a real improvement for examined kind of...

Female Managers' Perceptions of Developing a Mentoring Program: A Phenomenological Study

Witherspoon, Naomi O 01 January 2014 (has links)
Despite the increased rate of women in the workplace and more women acquiring advance degrees, there are still barriers in the workplace that hinders the advancement of women. The focus of this qualitative study was first to understand the perceptions and beliefs of six female managers' experiences during the developmental process of an all-female mentoring program. The second focus was to provide information on the importance of mentoring in the development and advancement of women in the workplace. Utilizing a phenomenological methodology, a descriptive approach was employed to examine and describe the thought processes and subjective views of the participants' role, understanding, and expectation of the program development. The purpose of this applied dissertation was to examine and describe from the participants' perspectives the factors that hindered the successful development of the mentoring program. Based on the analysis of the data collected from the semi-structured interviews, four themes emerged: (a) purpose for mentoring program development, (b) perception of barriers to mentoring program development, (c) perception of management role in program development, and (d) perception of program outcome. The data collected as a result of this study revealed five findings: (a) mentoring programs are an important human resource intervention, (b) the lack of top management support and commitment adversely affected the successful development of the mentoring program, (c) the successful development of a mentoring program requires the clear establishment of the program goals and objectives, (d) research does not fully support the findings that women in senior positions will advocate for women in lower ranking positions, and (e) the top management role is an essential component in the continued success of mentoring programs. This study offers insight into female managers' perceptions of the barriers that affect mentoring program development and insight into the development of successful mentoring program.

Abbas, Umar January 2021 (has links)
The starting point for the study was that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service received criticism from the Committee on the Rights of the Child when it comes to children of parents who are deprived of their liberty, criticism that children travel far to visit their parents, and criticism that children who travel far may not automatically extend their visit to certain institutions. At the same time, research has pointed to challenges and important conditions for considering the Convention on the Rights of the Child in the prison service. In a Swedish context, after the Convention on the Rights of the Child becomes law in Sweden in 2020, the organizational development with regard to fulfilling children's rights in the public sector has been relatively unexplored. The research aims to fill part of that knowledge gap. The purpose of the study is to see how the Swedish Prison and Probation Service develops with regard to compliance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The issues focus on how the prison service improves its activities in order to constantly consider the Convention on the Rights of the Child in matters concerning children. The study was conducted through a qualitative study. Data collection for this study was done through semi-structured interviews, nine respondents who are children's representatives at different levels in the hierarchy in the region west. The study shows that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service controls processes centrally from above by informing legislation, national guidelines for communicating how the Convention on the Rights of the Child is taken into account to regions and then to local units. Then each unit interprets the guidelines in the way that suits the unit type, such as detention, institution, or probation. The study shows that more cooperation is needed between different authorities to promote work for the best interests of the child. According to the study, however, it is not enough to consider children's conventions in the handbooks or through training, but there must be a personal commitment on the part of employees considered customer-oriented. / <p>2021-06-11</p>

Designing leadership: Using design thinking to create, practices, and implement a formal leadership development program

Wedding, Jon Samuel 01 January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine what happens when design thinking is used to create a leadership development program, increase leadership competencies, and participants perceptions of design thinking. This study uses action research to examine the experiences and design thinking to create a leadership program in a formal hierarchical. This study collected data during a two-cycle action research process. The findings from this study revealed that design thinking can be used to create a formal leadership development program. The ability to use design thinking’s human centered design can also help increase the leadership competencies of trust and collaborations. Additionally, despite early concerns participants enjoyed using design thinking in this study yet concerns remain about adopting it into core work. These findings have important implications for formal organizations exploring the ability to increase leadership development programs, leadership competencies, and organizational innovation.

Här ska byggas ett regemente! : Hur erfarenheter och mening skapas i dagens växande armé.

Brandt, Ulf, Nordlund, Christian January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to explore how experiences are formed during the establishment of a new regiment and how they impact the project. The study is a qualitative, inductive study where data was collected through interviews and observations. The study focuses on the creation of the Bergslagen Artillery Regiment, A 9, but studies have also been conducted on the Gotland Regiment and the Skaraborg Regiment to create an understanding of the historical legacy in which A 9 operates. Derived from organizational theory, sensemaking has developed as a perspective for understanding and navigating complex systems. Sensemaking is a process where individuals and groups seek, use and interpret information to create an understanding of their surroundings and the situations they are in. Sensemaking involves the individual integrating their own experiences, placed in the current context and thereby interpreting the information. This enables organizations to make sense of complex situations and make more informed decisions. These decisions are then anchored by individuals trying to influence others to adopt a common interpretation of the meaning of the situation, in the study referred to as sensegiving. The results of the collected data show that the establishment of the Bergslagen Artillery Regiment contains both challenges and problems but also forward momentum, problem-solving, and a strong inherent desire to solve the task in a first-class manner. It also contains something deeper, something that is a little more abstract. During the interviews, we have experienced that when we ask questions about lessons learned, which in itself is a relatively bureaucratic and process-oriented area of questioning, the answers often focus on what is perceived as difficult or what has not been given the opportunity to be processed in the individual's reflections or in the group in a good way. Many events that have already taken place have not been taken care of because reflections on these events have not been sufficient or have been lacking. When the data and experiences we have obtained during the interviews are combined, we see a pattern where lessons learned, as we can see from the empirical data, is primarily not formable in writing or words, but instead as an ongoing process in the individuals and groups we have studied. The overall conclusions of the study are that in order for sensemaking as a concept to be applicable in an organization like the Swedish Armed Forces, there is a need to create a shared vision and identity, space for retrospective reflection on operational events, strengthened and delegated mandates at the appropriate level, a flexible approach to leadership and work methods, and an understanding that networks among individuals are the engine that drives sensemaking in the organization.
